Polarcell vs mugen vs original battery - Desire General

Hi, with current promising progress in jb Rom, I'm thinking investing on new battery replacement for my Desire. I found:
1. www.cellephone.de/en/mobilfunk-zube...ion-google-nexus-one-replaced-ba-s410/a-2866/ polarcell with 1400mah capacity made in German(?) and
2. www.mugen-power-batteries.com/mugen...e-htc-desire-vodafone-htc-desire-1600mah.html mugen 1600mah same size with stock. More expensive than the first one.
Anyone have experience with one of them? How its quality and durability? How its compare to original HTC battery?
Thanks for sharing and advice.

I've not used the mugen, but there is a round up of some ~20 3rd party batteries for nexus 1 where Cameron Sino came out top. 2400mah with extra back cover. I found it on Amazon for about 7 gbp.
I run runnymede AIO, original battery could not make it through the day some days. The new one gives me 50-70% used in per day. Has been known to give 3 days when roaming (Wifi & voice, no 3g).
Hope this helps

Thanks for info. I thought nobody will answer my question
Btw, I prefer same size with original battery. Extra size will make my Desire case useless. The polarcell and mugen I mentioned are normal size.

batteries of the same size as the original battery that promise greater autonomy or mAh are, usually, fake and often with a capacity much lower in comparison to the original batteries

[Q] HTC Sensation battery on HTC Desire?

Hi,
I'm wondering if the Sensation battery or EVO 3D battery is compatible with HTC Desire? Because sensation and evo 3d has approximately 1700mAh-1800mAh. There are a lot of battery for Desire and they claims that they are better than stock Desire 1400 mAh. But afaik they aren't as good enough as stock battery.
Would be good if it works. Is it same size desire?

I don't know, I saw the pictures only, and it looks same. Maybe someone has sensation or evo 3d here.
i would like to know this aswell.

We are talking about oem batteries here, whereas that site compares oem to the third party.
Seems like no one can test. Maybe i will get a sensation battery and try out

Just checked, it won't fit. Contact groups are on different sides.

Aww... Is there any higher capacity genuine htc battery from other phones (such as desire s) that could be used for desire?

I was searching recently for a high (or at least higher) capacity battery the other day.. Late last week I ended up ordering a 3000mAH battery, just waiting for it to arrive.
For people not wanting to have a thicker phone (thicker batteries come with new back covers to accommodate the size), there was one 1800mAH battery I found on eBay that fits without needing to have a larger back cover. Have a look here. Seller ships world-wide too...
I guess it will not work...bigger capacity = bigger size

You're referring to the battery in the link I posted...? I emailed the seller to ask the other day because they sell it without a back cover. The reply I got back stated that the battery is the same size as the original battery, so the original back cover will still fit.
Correction: The reply stated the battery is only a tiny bit thicker (I just went to double check) and doesn't need a new back cover. From what I can see looking at my phone, even if the battery is 3mm or 4mm thicker it should still fit without any problem.
Edit: More confirmation of the size... Same battery on OBOstore.com, in the description it says: "100% fit size (same as original)" as well as "100% Fit for original chargers and your devices". You have to love the Chinese, not only for their dirt cheap spare parts for everything under the sun, but also for their very special grammar...
...and half the battery capacity what they promised.

Never had any problems with the cheap, high capacity batteries for either my really old IMate JAM or my even older IMate SP5... Both of those were bought online and originated in China.
The SP5 battery was same size as original with a slightly higher capacity, went from 1050mAH to 1300mAH with the original case. It just made the phone slightly heavier, but not bigger.
I read in this thread that we can use Sensation batteries on DHD. Would be awesome if I could use Mugen's 1950mAh Sensation batteries man.

[Q] Good replacement battery for DHD?

Has anybody tried this one?
Search for "2430MAH HIGH CAPACITY BAS470 GOLD BATTERY FOR DESIRE HD" on ebay.
Any good suggestions for replacement battery?
I have just bought this one:
Andida Battery For HTC Desire HD Ace 1800Mah
Didn't know there also where 2430Mah ones
These high capacity batteries are all BS. It's not possible to fit that much extra capacity in a battery of the same size. Very few of these third party batteries are from reputable companies and safe to use. All of them are around the same capacity as the original stock battery. There's a 1500 mAh battery by Mugen which is the max you get I guess. These 'super high capacity' batteries are actually the same capacity as the stock one or probabaly a little more. You won't notice a dramatic increase in battery life as you expect, and sometimes they have worse battery life than the stock battery.

+1 on the high capacities being BS. I got a replacement 1600mAh battery for $6.99 delivered off eBay and it works fine but doesn't hold a charge much longer if at all than my 1230mAh stock battery.

Feipusi 2200mah high capacity battery for samsung galaxy nexus i9250

Has anyone tried this one? They claim its the same size as the original battery but yet it delivers 2200mAh.

thanx
I would bet that it has about the same charge capacity or less than the stock battery.
Every review of these after market battery that are the same size as the stock battery just have sub par performance.
I ordered an official Samsung extended battery after seeing all the reviews of the aftermarket ones. Its pricy for sure but it is actually an extended battery as opposed to a lesser spare battery which these normally turn out to be.

For the record, ALL eBay batteries that claim over the standard capacity in the same size as stock are 10-20% less capacity than the stock battery. Even mugen despite a large fan base have been proven to be the same or a bit less than the stock battery capacity (excluding the ones that require a new back cover). If you're looking for more capacity I suggest either the official Samsung one or one of the much larger 3800 mah batteries from eBay or mugen.

[Q] Battery For Galaxy S2

It has been more than 2 years since I'm using my Good Old trustworthy Galaxy S2.I think it's time to change my battery.
So here's my question: What battery shall I use? I know samsung batteries are the best, but I don't want to buy the stock 1650 Mah battery. Also,I don't want the 2000 Mah battery from samsung, because it needs a bigger Battery cover, and most of the cases/covers become unusable this way.
What battery should I buy from eBay? (This is where I will buy,and my budget is max 10$).I want an extended battery, which has a better battery life
and it is good and trustworthy.

No batteries the same size will give you more than real 1700 mah. when they write 2300 mah, they are lying, if you open them you will see the same cells as a regular 1650 mah from samsung.
Just get a good quality one.
I'm also in same boat like OP and was planning to get original Samsung 2000mah one but cant find it anywhere in India
Hey same here I am also want a original new 2000mah battery in India for my galaxy s2

I've received the battery suggested on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2418307
about two months ago, and I'm not disappointed
It gives me a little better battery life than with the original battery for only 3 $ :good::good:

fake 1850-2450 mah battery usually contain only 1250-1450 mah power , you lucky if you got a 1650 mah one
Does anyone have any ideas about the batteries being sold on Flipkart. reviews seem to be good.

Why not the 2k from samsung? The back plate is as thick as the bottom part of the phone. So you won't really feel a difference.
and the camera will be protected better.
How is the anker 1900? I use a anker one for my HTC Sensation but I'm looking for a good one for my mom

Well, if it runs better on your htc than the stock battery, then get one. The chance is high that the S2 Anker is also good then.

Nexus 5 3800 mAh batteries legit?

Are those Nexus 5 batteries at AliExpress with a capacity of 3800mAh legit? They even claim it's the same size as the original batteries.
No, this is fake... Maybe the real capacity will have a 1500mAh... Search original or replacement of good quality, for example. PolarCell: http://www.polarcell.de/english.html
I second that (what bykumza writes), if the manufacturer (LG) could have fitted a real 3800 mAh battery they would have done that. Often the more modest capacity values are more accurate. I can confirm that PolarCell are very good, well worth the money. The Chinese cheapies often dissapoint.

Actually Nexus 5 and G2 are released almost same date. Nexus 5 has 2300 mah battery and G2 has 3000 mah. I bought G2 battery and put it in my Nexus 5. It fits but it needs ~1 mm space which is not a problem for LG to do it! But they did not! That company did not put 3000 mah battery in nexus 5 which could have been the bestseller because of price/performance and put 2300 mah in it so they could sell their ****ing G2s with great battery life. So no they would not have done it even if they could. Today companies do not do so much things that they can, we just can't even imagine. Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung , apple and other mobile companies are good example. Why on earth can't mobile companies like apple put bigger batteries in it's super high price phones? Juts why? Samsung managed to put 3600 mah battery in 5.5 inch phone which is smaller then iphone 6s plus or 7 plus which has ~2900 mah and takes 3 and a half ****ing hours to charge it!!!!
Would you recommend to get a replacement battery from PolarCell instead of getting OEM original one?

And... Why not G2 battery? I need a replacement to
Thanks
Fitting G2 battery requires some hardware modification, which I frankly don't feel like doing.
I just wonder which battery is better, a PolarCell one (someone recommend in previous post) or OEM one.
Polarcell is reportedly one of the best alternatives and has a slightly higher capacity than the original cost can say that comes out more or less the same as the original.
Here, unfortunately, you have to answer on your own if you want to take a chance and buy a replacement if you prefer a standard solution.
