Go phone i5 vs iPhone 5 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

So Idk why everyone's being racist and saying the Chinese "cloned" and stole it from apple. Apple is highly known for stealing ideas from lower less known companys and then this Chinese company had this phone out way before iPhone 5.. Any discussion anyone?

Really had to make another thread on this.......

I hope you're being funny man how does that make everyone racist lmao

The fact that everyone instantly assumes the Chinese company was the one who stole even thogb they had it before apple. Automatically assuming it's them without looking at any info.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it would be this exact same way no matter what country a company comes from.
Sent from Pluto.

Not really sure how it is racist...
And did they really come up with it on their own? It is still the same design as the iPhone 4, just bigger. It's a bit ridiculous.

I still hope this is a joke. First off, the chinese version was based off leaks of the actual iPhone 5. Secondly, making fun of a country isn't really racism unless your making their race specifically. Being from the US, if i made fun of canada, would you also call that racism? If i was of chinese origin with US citizenship and made fun of china would that be called racism?

I don't think this guy knows the definition of " Racist ".

Its the fact you guys think they stole it because either their Chinese or not apple.. and half of those leaked pictures are of the go phone.

If they stole it then how did they take their full year of making it before iphone 5 images where even leaked? then selling before apple.. no company can pump out a device from ground up in 2 months -_-
and for the record, im trolling over nothing >_> just discussion over this XD I cant see how the company stole it. Let the court settle it by comparing patent dates

Look up "trademark squatting" and you'll see it's a big thing in China. It has nothing to do with racism.
Also, yes, they can build a phone that quickly because they have the infrastructure to produce a product in a short amount of time.

At this point who cares. I hope the Chinese company has a earlier patent than apple so apple loses money XD iPhone 5 could still be banned for the HTC law suit.. Idk the result of that though

Just had an outstanding encounter with an ATT representative.

I went into an ATT store today to see if it was worth picking up a focus S to play sidebar to my lumia 800 today and a representative walked up to me ecstatic. The first words out of her mouth were "I've been waiting for someone to stop drooling over that tired old iPhone for 30 minutes so I could show them this phone, hi, I'm Katie." she then proceeded to pull out her own focus, walk me over to an iPhone, and show me how much smoother the wp7 device was and even used the term "peoplecentric." All the while I feigned ignorance and awe at the phone. She was absolutely ecstatic about wp7 and spent a good 20 minutes just raving about how revolutionary it was. After her spiel I showed off my lumia as well as my son's and told her that the focus series were the only U.S. based phones I have. I asked her if she'd get commission if I did buy it, she hesitantly admitted that she would, and I bought it for that reason alone. She gave me some sense of hope for the dreadful carrier interference in the success of a superior OS.
Dude, did you get her facebook?!
Okay, kidding. Nice to see that someone is doing a great job showing off WP7.
...maybe AT&T got my memo lol...cool story!

It showed that not all carrier salespeople are completely blind. I've actually been one of those who's encountered numerous reps who think we're running winmo and one who said it was laggy compared to his vibrant which I was excited to disprove. It was nice to see a knowledgeable rep.

So, when a salesperson favors Android or iOS over WP, they are "blind", but when one refers to the iPhone (which is another product they are responsible to sell) as a "tired old" device, they are cool? Gotcha. No hypocrisy going on here.

No when people go in asking about wp7 and the salespeople try to tell them about android instead or say incorrect things about the os they are blind..
Jesus does one positive story about at&t bother you that much?
She was obviously a little upset at the lack of an iPhone 5 this year. The slight differences in the 4 and 4s were a downer. She mentioned how she was an apple fangirl until she saw the 4s. Either way, the point was that it's nice to see a knowledgeable rep at att.

Thank you for yet another childish, offensive, utterly ignorant post (which as been reported). Go back to second grade, please.
As for the "one positive story" comment, it wasn't positive. It displayed the exact same kind of ignorant bias on the part of a salesperson that all of the WP zealots condemn every day. But since it was bias AGAINST iPhone, that makes it all OK.
No, the reason for praise was the fact that att miraculously hired a knowledgeable rep.

Yes, I have a bias - against hypocrites. The OP didn't say "it was great to find a salesperson who knew about WP", he went out of his way to point out how she called the iPhone a "tired old" device. And he also implied that not favoring WP makes a salesperson "completely blind". That is what raises my ire. It is ignorant and hypocritical.
I never said or implied any such thing. I merely respected the fact that she was knowledgeable about the device rather than shoving me over to android or ios like every other GSM carrier. Most cdma carriers don't even know they offer windows phones. What you took from it, you took because you wanted to flame bait me. You took one sentence from the entire statement and made it out to be everything. Sadly I didn't recall her sales pitch from memory, otherwise there'd be full chat logs.
I believe with the 4s people were expecting improvements beyond a camera. Their processor still doesn't make it run as smooth as wp7 so I hardly call that an upgrade, and the best software increase is something they bought off of their own market.

Maybe it wasn't your intent to give off a fanboyish vibe, but considering how much fanboyism there is on display in this forum (from both zealots and haters), perhaps you should proofread your posts to ensure they convey the tone you intend, and not something more incendiary.
If it is my job to sell something, would I not be considered incompetent? Yeah, this Audi is terrible, lets enter my comfort zone with a ford. That Audi is running on steam and therefor is inferior. I never said that I don't have a personal preference, however I believe it was clear that I'm not praising her for hers. It was simply pleasant that someone knew something about that which they were selling. When I tell carriers that I want social network integration, they veer me towards android, that is not the best option. When I had a vibrant and I asked about phones with netflix, they veered me towards the vibrant 4g with promises of "it's coming." The HD7 was readily available. The carriers are generally ignorant assuming that winmo and windows phone are the same thing. When cellphones are your financial income, take the time to learn about them.

Apple files injunction against Samsung to ban SGN in US..

Link to Android Central article
Apple has once again called Samsung into court. This time it's about the Galaxy Nexus and four patents that Apple says it infringes. The patents in question are:
U.S. Patent No. 5,946,647: a patent for data being used as a hyperlink
U.S. Patent No. 8,086,604: a unified search patent
U.S. Patent No. 8,046,721: a slide-to-unlock patent
U.S. Patent No. 8,074,172: a word completion patent*
Apple is requesting that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus be blocked from sale in the United States because it violates these patents. *Should the court find in favor of Apple, a ban against the Galaxy Nexus would be put in effect until the final court decision. *
Could it happen? Certainly. But if it does, it won't go into effect any time soon, it would only affect stores inside the U.S. selling these products, and no jack-booted thugs from Cupertino will come pry your Nexus from your hands. We can't be sure how the courts will act, but all of these are pretty shaky patents, and once again Apple is not going after Google directly -- even though the Galaxy Nexus has a pure vanilla version of Android. *The only certainty here is that the patent system is broken and only serves the company willing to spend the most in the courts.
It's time for Google to step in and put a stop to this bull****. The first patent in question is the same one that was upheld against HTC in a move that shocked the tech community at large, essentially giving Apple the rights to the hyperlink -- something invented over 20 years ago by numerous companies that aren't Apple.
The other three are just as laughable, or would be if not for the fact that Apple was allowed to secure the patents at all.*Every single one of them has existed as prior art long before Apple became relevant, yet a patent was granted each and every time. This is the core of the problem. You can't blame Apple for trying, it's cheaper to litigate away your competition than it is to out-innovate them. *And make no mistake -- that's exactly what's going on here. *Apple wants Android to go away, and a look at any chart that shows market share will tell you why. *It's a ****ty way to get ahead, but it's too easy not to try. It's going to take a tech giant to change the way this all works, and we know nobody can count on Apple or Microsoft to do it, because this is their system, created the way they like it, and making them rich. If Apple is afraid to go after Google, Google needs to go after Apple instead of sitting on their laurels waiting to ride in and save the day at the last minute.

Edit: what about the patent Apple filed recently for a "facial recognition unlock" on their products!? It seams to me Apple is holding up the progress of technology by acquiring their products in court and not in the lab or whatever. They just throw around their weight and money and bully other companies to steal. Jesus Steve Jobs said it himself and you are still trying to defend them.

That is the link/ body of text from the OP?. I don't fully understand patents and law but am very interested. The best I can do is state my personal opinions, which I think I have made clear already. I personally think it is a toss up whether Apple has a chance and this is just a way for them to cash in, slow Google and others progress and a way to bully others and steal once again. I think any of the four patents being infringed on should not belong to a apple or any other company either. Let's make progress not slow progress by bickering in court who owns the right to hyperlinks. Amirite?

100% agree with that statement and i say it to my brother who has an iphone 4s all the time.
My brother has owned every iphone since they were launched and will defend apple to the end of time.
Apple came out with a great phone to begin with, but have since not really come out with anything completely innovative which has completely changed ios.
Still the same old launcher of icons after icons... same lock screen blah blah blah.
If you look at an origional iphone and then look at an iphone 4s theres not really anything other than the speed improvements that makes you think wow apple has come a long way with the software... ( other than the notifacation bar they added... wonder where they got that idea from ).
Apple need to man up and stop throwing law suits around and come up with some new ideas.
All this does is slow down progress for everybody.
Oh btw... Where do iphones get most of there parts from? Oh thats right... SAMSUNG!!!!
Apple can't sue software, they can only sue the hardware manufacturer. That is why they sued Samsung instead of Google.

It's not going to fly. It's a publicity stunt, based around an ironic company. The same company that uses competition and capitalism to exploit workers around the world to build it's products cheaply (Apple), refuses to abide by capitalism when it finally faces some competition (Apple again).
They have no case, regardless of what a legal expert says. The United States hardly, hardly ever bans the sale of any product, even if there is a pending case against patent infringements. Remember the multi-touch cases? Unless Google literally stole the product from Apple, it won't fly. Besides, knowing this case was still going on, why would anyone continue to manufacture a product that couldn't be sold?

Not really. Even if Samsung are selling more units than Apple at the moment (which I somewhat doubt), their profits are nowhere near.
I don't know why Apple continue all this legal activity. The iPhone is the closest thing to a money-printing machine that there is.
Picking up a Samsung soon, this kinda crap just re enforces my determination not too own anything with an apple logo on it,apple are nothing but petty tech Taliban who would curb freedom of choice just too sell one more of there flawed devices.

And even if you had the money, Apple ain't for sale.

Let's Stop Apple!

I'm sick of Apple attacking our Android vendors with ridiculous law suits over patents that should never have been allowed in the first place. Data tapping? What's next, patenting fire? Most of their so called "innovations" have been around long before their patenting. They were never patented because they were meant to be real innovations, for vendors, developers, and end users alike to share, use freely and improve the user experience.
Let's do our part in trying to save our beloved vendors from Apple.
All you need to do is sign this petition started by Austin Michael here: http://www.change.org/petitions/apple-inc-stop-filing-lawsuits-and-trying-to-cut-off-competition?utm_campaign=petition_page&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=share_petition or call Apple at 1 (800) 275-2273 and tell them how you feel about this, ask them to stop, or even question why.
Please, don't insult, harass, or even give any representative any attitude. This should be done peacefully, and respectfully. Remember that just because they work for Apple, doesn't make them any less of a person. They are humans like you and me doing their jobs.
Leave what any representative has told you in the comments. Tell me what you think and how you think we should go about this. Twitter? Google+? You may repost this topic anywhere you would like.

nah, but I'll smile a little imagining the look on someone's face when they make the connection.
What about coordinating a "mass call-in" to Apple's customer service lines for an entire day or go into Apple stores and just ask a bunch of redundant questions, preventing actual customers from getting service.
I have an idea, go to every store that carries Apple products and buy one of their devices, open the packaging, and then immediately return it.
I just think we need to disrupt their business as much as we possibly can. I feel we have sat around long enough. And while we're at it, we should go to our state capitols and complain about government as well. You know, since we're going to be out and about anyways.

As a rule, American mainstream chocolates are disgustingly sugary confections designed to make you gag.
Please don't break me off a piece of that KitKat Bar. :silly:
How about Android Diabetes Type 1, six months later to be followed by Diabetes Type 2?

And why not?
It is an extremely cynical move by two massive megacorp companies (both with troubled ethical histories) betting LOTS of money on people being brainless stupid herdable sheep. Instead of calling me cynical, you should feel a bit affronted at Google....because both these corps are saying very blatantly that they think we consumers are brainless programmable robots who will jump when asked.
Google and Nestle can claim no money was traded hands all they want...but there was quid pro quo, you can bet your entire lifetime earnings and savings there was.
I don't like eating chocolates now a days but Kit Kat is very relatable and very marketable.

That statement is crap and heres why everyone has a choice to do or in this case eat whatever or however much of somthing too much water is harmful to your health. So please stop saying americans cause like I said everyone has a choice. And for the fact I was born in Jamaica and live in America

Honestly great marketing ploy. Hope it works out well for both products. I'm not a fan of KitKat. I don't like the crunchy center crap. But hey, why not.
Now if it were Reese's peanut butter cups, now those I love. And it's not even the chocolate of it. It's their peanut butter that I like.

Ohhh just like Apple, INC. Put it in colors, change a letter and sell another billion of them. Brainless programmable robots will line up for days. If you can't beat them, join them.
Haven't seen a single one yet. All normal kit kat bars in stores.
With the horrible Halloween coming up, all the candy is starting to have a halloween theme. A good idea on google's part, but perhaps poorly timed.
i really hate people using the word "sheep" like they're not one also. we're all sheep, and choose which flock to run with. saying that, real sheep actually care what they call the new os. tech guys shouldn't give a crap what they call it as long as it's offers improvements.
Yeah cause Hershey would just promote android on all of their packages for free...

Agree and disagree:
I disagree with you about the sheep analogy. We are not all sheep choosing flocks to follow. Sheep are herd animals and humans are pack animals (at least this used to be true). The iSheep represent the ever growing part of humanity that has made the transformation into herd animals. I, and many of us here, refuse to be transformed by media/advertizing/image consultants into a bleating wooly douchebag. The analogy for those like me would be that of the wolf; a pack animal who, whether alone or with his pack, will divide the herd and eventually bite and eat one of them.
I agree that it doesn't matter what branding Android 4.4 has...I've always referred to version anyway

Is this REALLY worth debating?

Like CHZECK said, version and improvements are all that matter. They can call it ANDROID VERSION CRAP 2.0 for all I care, as long as they fix the bugs, improve the user experience and put APPLE out of business, I am happy!

Lol yea if apple went out of business I probably would smile. But I doubt it. Unless all android phone make you feel like your apart of a society than its not happening. The only manufacturer that makes you feel as though your part of a society like apple is Samsung. Which is why I like their phones. People see Iphone. And think upper class, sophistication, and belonging. Which gives them a sense of belonging to a group of elite. I mean who dont want to walk around feeling like their worth a million bucks with year old tech smh. We look at Samsung and see innovation, future, and a sense of belonging to a group of intellectual individuals even though on xda some people make me wonder with questions like whats rooting or a kernel, But they have a profile lol. Since Samsung set a stepping stone on what sales and devices should look like htc, lg and everyone else is really stepping it up. So apple may be in trouble in the future but as of right now. There to many zombies for them to sell to.... my bad for the essay

I personally don't want to see Apple go out of business. I like competition. I think it actually benefits us consumers.
Personally, I don't think Samsung is the bee's knees or anything, but they do make a few products I enjoy, such as the Galaxy Note series smartphone. My enjoy derives nothing from Apple's products. I like they're Android, are rootable with fair ease, have SD card slots, pullable batteries, and actually make the phablet one of the flagship phones, instead of an after though like many other companies.
I'm not an Apple fan. I don't know about the company now with CEO Cook, but under Jobs reign, they were able to make things people found useful and wanted. I don't think they really came up with many ideas that were original, but found the right delivery of it. Plus, since Apple tries to just make everything work, that's that many less people who's electronics I ultimately end up fixing; it gets irritating always fixing other people's crap because they don't have a clue.

Yea the competition is fun. I use to be an apple fan but I've always been more of a fan of customizations. When android came out I was torn because I mean you could customize a iphone 3g and 3gs at the time when jail broken. But android had launchers icons. Colors, mp3 ringtone makers. Rooting, and constantly adding more features. I actually waited for apples response. Now so many years later. Their finally responding with a more customizable ui its to late. Im done with them. Plus I saw people happy as **** that they could swipe their Iphone cross registers and pay for gas all with nfc enabled I laughed. Only because my S3 was doing that while the Iphone 4 was still on 3g like its 3g/s predecessor. Lol or my e4gt was rocking 4g wimax. It's kinda crazy though because in the tortoise and hare race. Apple the tortoise was winning the race with out dated tech smh. Apple is a cult lol
