i747m video call - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok, I have come to a conclusion after some research that i747m does not have video call option.
Yes, I know, I can use third party apps or google talk but I want the original video call.
So my question is, has anyone flashed their i747m with another rom and got the video call option in their dialer?

nobody knows?
someone's have to have done it before!

Video calling didn't come with any stock ROM. Unless the Dev specifically added the video calling from GS2 i9100 and somehow made it work. Otherwise, there hasn't been any ROM with integrated video calling option since there are many 3rd party apps available.

Now just gotta find out what rom GT-i9300 is using. That version of s3 has integrated video calling.

Diet ICS has video calling in the dialer.

Just curious if the new skype update with video calling would work if we changed the string to one of the supported phones? Anyone try this yet?

I just updated, signed in and tried to do a video chat both ways....tried calling someone and had someone call me and NOTHING....still same old thing for us! The UI looks a little bit better then their old one but I'm sure this will be a matter of time before someone disables the device check on this and cracks this sucker wide open for everyone!!
That's what I am hoping for...if we can fool the app into thinking we have a supported phone it could work...

I tried this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148708 and is a step in the right direction for us because I'm able to receive video calls as well as make them BUT the cameras don't seem to work because I can't see anyone and they can't see me...............NOW I know you're thinking that this is useless but before the video chat feature wouldn't even show up in the regular app so all we have to do is figure out this camera issue and we got ourselves video chat!!!...haha

What's with no native video calling on the epic??

Is There native video calling on the epic?
I have seen other galaxy s phones and they have a video call button on the dial pad. But I have a message button.
Is it a gingerbread feature?
I am on gingerbread but its a leak. Eh17. And I know some of the features are disabled like the over scroll and the crt animation and the gingerbread keyboard.
Is this one of the disabled features maybe?

Wouldn't that be sweet? I think they will be pushing the Video in Google Talk when official GB hits. We all know how horrible Qik was.
I did not hear anyone mention it on the Galaxy II Epic Touch which comes with Gingerbread so doubt it will be included. Were the phones you saw European Galaxy S phones?
i was wondering this too, does anyone know why its not there?

I was using it on my Epic on EH17 and it works very well. I tried to add it to Froyo but no joy. It works extremely well on the ET4G with the 2 megapixel front camera. I did a 20 minute video chat with qbking from my Epic. I was on 4G and there was no lag or stutter but there was occasional sound loss for 2 seconds and it picked right back up. I think GB 2.3.4 is required for it to work

So how do you enable it? Its not an extra charge with sprint is it? Cuz on the bottom of the dial pad its a green call button then a grey or black back up button and then a text message button where the video call button should be but its not.

No. It will enable video calling option in Gtalk. There is no app for native video calling on the Epic. However a Google search of this reveals Google's intent to put it in 2.3.4. I am guessing you saw it on a non-Galaxy S phone since none of the US carriers have GB yet. But the Conquer and Galaxy S II series have 2.3.4 as well as the Nexus and no one has mentioned this native video calling. So is Sprint not supporting it to avoid the bandwidth overload?

OK, just read some of the articles and they are talking about Google Talk with video. So not sure where you saw the video call button on the dial pad unless it will be integrated with the Google Talk and for contacts that have it enabled.
Look for the one Shinydude posted. The the pictures are the right side up, and the video option is inside to G-Talk app. I flashed it on Hurricane and CompKid's ROMs and it works well. If anyone needs a link,.let me know. EDIT..wipe cache and Dalvik and flash this. It will automatically reboot your phone..

Maybe it was on a galaxy s 2 phone. And I was mistaken. But it was definitely not on the epic tho. But another galaxy s phone or at least some Samsung phone with touch wiz 3. Cuz the dial pad looked exactly like mine but with the video call button instead of the messaging button.

Yup, option the dialer is exactly the same. The link I posted for G-Talk w/ video chat works on 2.3.4 ROMs only... at least it didn't work on the Froyo ROMs I tried but I am pretty sure you need to be on GB 2.3.4 so EH06, AND EH17 ROMs are fine. Kenny, is EG22 2.3.4 or 2.3.3?

No, its only inthe G-Talk app. There's a little videocam icon instead of a green dot when others with video chat (either on phone or PC) are available. I chatted with TheRoot as well. He was on his PC and I was on Urban Decay..I answered my own question..lol. It does work on EG22.

So, the OP thinks that on one of the AT&T GS variants, there is a video call button on the bottom of the phone diaer? Well, that's either captivate or infuse 4g, so it shouldn't be hard to find a pic or video.

[Q] Can't beam pics from cm10 to stock s3

Hey everyone hoping to get some insight on this issue. I have cm10 M2 on my s3 and my wife has a stock s3. We tried beaming pics both ways with her initiating it or myself. When she goes first it takes me to the play store with a not found response. When I try to send a pic on my phone it says that the other phone can't receive large files. Once it took her s3 to allshare cast but she doesn't have a samsung account. So is it a known issue that aosp roms can't beam to stock s3's? Its a feature I can see us using a lot but I'm not a fan of touchwiz and went the modded route while she won't let me mod her phone. Thanks in advance!
Android Beam should work fine.. S Beam will not though as it's Touchwiz only..

I see what you mean now. I tried to send a youtube video and it worked fine. Same for browser site. I guess pics are out the question. So new question, can I beam photos with say a galaxy nexus? I'm just trying to figure out what's causing this limitation.
I see now. The jellybean update added the ability to send pics and vids while on stock s3 s beam takes care of that using wifi direct.

[Q] 2 Way Call Recorder

Hi ,
I've tried a lot of call recording apps and none of them worked correctly.. and later i knew that it should have a compatible kernel.. so why don't we have kernel that support it ?!
Does it need special mobile hardware or something ?

It needs some code frome Samsung to be added into the ROM to make records from the line, else all the apps will record from the mic.
I´ve tried Androrec and it worked well for me but recording from the mic

Yes, all Samsung ROMs do have this feature build in, but its hidden in most ROMs because of the local laws in all the countries.

Nice app. Looks promissing. I might give this one a try. This app seems to add the record button right into the phone app like all the modified phone apps are doing.
The phone app from Arcos CM9 and CM10 could be modified the same way so there would be no need to use 3th party apps and if Arco would add the specific code from Samsung it would even record the voices directly from the line rather than using the mic mode.
I was investigating some time ago into modifing the phone app, so I know this is possible but because I am having not enough time for such a project and because of the missing code in Arcos ROMs I gave this up.
So if there is a skilled app modder with enough time, he could add this feature directly into the phone app and with some help from Arco the calls could be even recorded from the line.

Call Recorder Question

So, I have tried 6 different apps from the marketplace, and I can't seem to find an app that records anything more than static. I need this for an ongoing custody battle.
Its legal in my state. So, I thought I would throw that out there before I started getting flamed.
Anyone have any suggestions? I did a searched and found a thread from last year, but unfortunately it didn't work with my build.
