Hi All,
I very much like the Zen notification sound in Whatsapp and would like to use it as my notification sound in GOSMS. I can't find where it is located.. Can someone help me?
Cheers

Anyone , please:good:
Wow. Okay to access notifications you gotta reach Whatsapp settings first. The first page of whatsapp hit the menu button(or 3 dot) and click settings. There you can select notification sound for group and 1v1 conversations. Cheers.

I know, I've done that ... what I want is to find the location of the audio file, so that I can use it as a notification sound for GOSMS

Not sure, but my guess would be its in one of the sound directories. Probably not on the sd card directory, more likely system.
Check this thread out.

Hey guys i'm sorry to post in this section but i don't know where i can post!
So, i've a problem, people don't receive my PM on xda, and i don't know why :/
Help me please for fixe it!
That's really weird.
It must have something to do with your internet connection.
It's best to move this thread to the 'about xda-developers' section.
use the red triangle in the right top of your post to ask to move your thread.
Moved to About XDA.
Try to send me a PM.
I'll pass this on to Admin.
I've sent you a PM to test if you can receive / reply...
Dave
I waiting the reply from DaveShaw...

welcome to xda
I expect that to be a different restriction you are suffering from: it's applying to junior members to help prevent spam
you might notice two other ones: posting urls and creating a signature won't work either until you have 10+ posts (far as i know)
so with a little patience this should resolve itself
if not post here and I will notify a moderator/admin for you
best
Thanks for your reply and explanation!
I'll try to get a few posts then... but hey, gently without spamming
Cheers
Hi guys,
I now have +10 posts and still have the impression I cannot send PMs. When composed a message, I click submit and I'm directly referred to the PM overview page with this text: "Private Messages in Folder: Inbox"
When I check my 'Sent items' there still empty. Thanks in advance!

I'll pm you, lets see if reply works
It may simply be that your Private Messaging is turned off.
Go to User CP on the brown bar above. Choose Edit Options on the page that appears.
Scroll down slowly through many options and you will find an option to turn on and off Private Messaging (both sending and Receiving).
NB When finished don't forget to click SAVE at the bottom of the page.
(If Private Messaging is enabled already, try unchecking it (save) then go back and recheck it and save again.)

hi
out of curiosity: pm usage works immediately (if setup correctly) or is it part of the anti-spam-pack?
in case the issue comes up again I prefer passing on facts instead of speculating like I did this time
thx

To be honest I don't know (it is possible it is part of the anti-spam measures) - I'll try to find out.

Or the other possibility is that the setting to save sent pm's isn't on as that could make you think that it's not sent.
I have a similar problem : I can use PM (I received some, and received answers from mine), but I cannot see any message in the outbox...

No problem
I think it's not ticked by default, as they add to the overall PM quota, and most people don't really need a copy of sent PMs.
Hello,
Is it possible to customize the pre-defined SMS messages with which you can reject calls? As most calls that I get are from Swedes it feels silly to send them English language "can't answer right now" messages. Typing a new "non-canned" message every time is not an option. Especially as there is no Swedish spell-checker in ICS yet...
Grateful for any help/M

Yes, there is. Google is your friend

Still, the manual doesn't have a lot of information. I think it's up to you to explore the phone (and this forum) to discover the nice things inside.
Many thanks forumache. /M
Hi guys I'm still quite new to the forums and have just purchased the XDA premium app for android but I cant seem to find how to favourite a thread so it will show in the favourites tab. all helps appreciated thanks!
It's cool man - find the topic you like, press and hold on it then choose subscribe. It'll then show up under favorites. I believe you have to from the list of topics though, not while you're actually viewing it. Hope this helps!

That is quiet not user friendly, since we have "subscribe" to receive email notifications for new replies...
Talking about confusing, eh?
yes, poorly implemented.
With such a large forum I thought favorites would be helpful to shortcut to the sub-forums I read.
subscribe to make a favorite. to me that implies I would get alerts for all new posts which I don't want. we'll see.

You can shortcut the forums you'd like.
Simply long press on it and a Create Shortcut option is the bottom option.
Also, no you won't get alerts for all new posts. The only way you get alerted for new posts, is if you subscribe to a single thread and change the option to get notified.

One feature that I missed, coming from HTC phones, to Samsung, was the ability to block callers in Contacts.
You must be rooted. Navigate to /system/csc, and select feature.xml.
Scroll to the "Contacts" section, and change this line from this:
<CscFeature_Contact_DisableMenuAddToRejectList>true</CscFeature_Contact_DisableMenuAddToRejectList>
to this:
<CscFeature_Contact_DisableMenuAddToRejectList>false</CscFeature_Contact_DisableMenuAddToRejectList>
Save, exit,
Make sure permissions are set to: rw-r--r--,
and reboot.
In Contacts, select a contact, press menu. "Add to reject list" should now be an option.
has anyone played with blocking mode. (menu.settings.blocking mode)a bit more of a pita to set up but has pretty neat additional features.

GREAT FIND. Seriously, I also came from HTC and was blown away to find that this very simple feature of send to voice mail wasn't available. I followed your method only to find out that Josh already changed it in the ROM. I never thought to check for the option cause you were the first to mention the fix that I have heard yet to date. So thanks for looking out and finding this. If you know of any other features that can be modified with this method par post them up. I will shoot you some thanks when my counter re-sets for the day.
Thanks for the feedback. Im slowly going through all of the disabled settings, as I find time. I'm still new at this, so the process is kind of slow. But, yeah, I agree, some of the things I took for granted with HTC, are completely missing, or disabled with the Note.

Sure it was Sprint and not Samsung? Maybe Samsung did it in order to shine light on their Block Mode?
Cause My Evo was obviously a Sprint phone and had this option so did my Palm Pre

Good point. The reason I blamed Sprint, is because the setting was disabled in CSC. I just assumed that stood for 'Carrier Specific Customization'. When the first version of the LK8 leak first dropped, the rom contained other carriers csc folders. I think I remembered the option enabled through other carriers, but I may be remembering wrong.
OP, are you the guy who I just thanked for teaching me how to disable shutter sound? If so, you are on fire man!
If not, then THANK YOU for being the 2nd really smart guy who helped me today! This worked perfectly!
I hit your thanks button too, both threads (if both are yours)
EDIT: I just noticed that since I replied to both threads, that put them next to each other. Mystery solved. You are the same.
Thanks AGAIN

Hey need help I made a back up before I flashed a rom I want to restore the back up but its not showing in restore. But i see it when i check the sd card. My question is, is there something special I need to do to restore my back up
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium HD app
Do you remember if you made the backup onto the external sd or internal storage? Try changing that option at the top when your at the restore screen since it may have been switched by accident.
Twrp isn't seeing the sdcard known bug. Transfer the backup to the actual phone memory and proceed to restoring
If you've been helped hit the "Thanks" button.
I put it in the Internal sd I moved it to the external but it still dose show

Seriously. I pressed every button I could find (I may have accidentally reported you, sorry)
All I see is -
date / time / post # / report button
your Avatar / Username / online status / rank /Join date / location / carrier
A folder icon(says default when hovering)
Your text
Your Signature
Quote / Multi-quote
I found no way to thank you or anybody else. I did find how to PM, add, ignore, profile or find your posts. The closest thing I found was rating the whole thread.

No. Let me try a different browser.
Interesting, on I.E. I get the Thanks button. I also see a Twitter, FaceBook and Google+ button too.
Unfortunately, I like FireFox too much. I will thank both of you in the other browser.

I turned off all my Ad Blockers and reloaded the page. I also cleared the cache to be sure. It still doesn't show up.
Thanks, I was really just curious where that button was that I kept seeing being referenced to.
I will make sure to open XDA in I.E. to give thanks when needed.
