If you don't want to spend the money. I don't believe you want to mirror.

Hi
Can someone suggest is there any tv out feature in gnex and if yes where can I find settings for the same in my phone.. Like in galaxy s it is there under display, tv out settings..

Not sure what you mean.. there's two major ways to stream content to a TV. 1 use a mhl adapter and an HDMI cable to connect it to your TV.2 use a dlna app from the market like skifta to stream content to a dlna certified TV. Hope I answered you're question.

Thank you for your support. However I wanted to know that I cannot see any setting on my phone for tv out. Like in the sgs1 there is an option under display settings which needs to be checked pal or ntsc before continuing tv out..

There is no such thing on the galaxy nexus. Using the mhl adapter will not require this at all. All u need is an HDMI cable and the adapter and it will automatically output video and audio to the TV.

Alright Thankyou for the information!

Unless you are referring to a component, composite or s-video only tv. If that's the case I don't think there is an economic option without an hdmi converter. Even then im not sure if it would work. Id be interested if anyone knows of any proven hardware that would work for those non-hdmi tv's.
Hey just trying to find out if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus can play movies directly to a TV using USB? Or through my PS3?

using an MHL adapter you can plug right into a TV with HDMI.
Thanks mate. I'll see if I can get one at IT shop. I'll be cheering if it works!

You can also stream to your PS3 or Smart TV with DLNA applications (iMediaShare or similar).
OK that works but only with wifi.
Can't believe my Samsung TV will recognize an iPhone and not a Samsung nexus.
Cheers for the help tho every1

I have the note 2 and have a bunch of videos of the kids. I wanted to play them on living room big screen.
So I bought an adapter that I plug into my phone and then I can plug in an HDMI cable along with a side power source plug.
Basically I plugged them all in and I cannot view the videos on my tv. It doesn't even seem to recognize my phone. Anyone run into this? Or know what I can do to watch video on my TV?

Just checked and that is exactly what I have. A Samsung MHL adapter that is supposed to work for the note 2. Frustrating.

You could go this route:
http://www.cellphoneshop.net/mhlhdmi.html
Read review and make sure the one you're buying works for the Note 2 or S3.
I have one from my ol' S2, bought an adapter for my Note 2 and it works like a charm!
Nope.
You need the mhl adapter like others suggested unfortunately. Unless you can find one locally than there is nothing you can do.
You need an mhl cable. More specifically the one from samsung because they made ours non standard.

Or get smart dock which had hdmi out.

needs to be an 11 pin MHL HDMI output adapter...
I don't know if there is a specific micro usb cable to hdmi convertor that I need to get in order to play my Nexus 7 to my tv. I don't remember if I read correctly, but I think I remember there being an article saying the Nexus 7 has a difference in its build, in which it needs a specific device to connect itself to an HDMI tv. Not sure though. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it. I am basically only trying to look at these avi files on my tablet to a tv.
Think all you need is a MHL adapter

Thanks, alright I just bought one at this link if anyone else looking wants to see what to get. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECU3M22/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
MHL won't work with the Nexus 7(2013). The slim port cable you ordered should work though.
Funny how I gave him the wrong item and he still managed to order the right one

lol
You need a Slimport adapter (Not MHL which is a different competing technology!). Or get a Miracast adapter there are dongles , and use wireless access).
Unless you're running a CyanogenMod 10.2 build in which case, the
Slimport to HDMI function is not yet supported or working.

I use Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 to connect my N7 wirelessly to TV. It works pretty well. You may also want to install iMediaShare app from Google Play store on your N7 for streaming local and online content once connected to your TV.
