So recently out of the blue, my beautiful HOX has began making a cracking sound right before or after the speaker emits a sound and I was wondering what may have caused this and also if I should get my phone repaired.
Also I'm not sure if this is with general use but during video streaming(sometimes during browsing the web I have to tap again to get a page to load) WiFi sometimes becomes choppy and this is actually where the crackling sound becomes prominent(every time the video is about to resume play), can this be fixed by me or should I send the phone to get repair

Hi I have the same problem I think it maybe software firmware issue nit hardware. Have you installed another Rom as I have

No, I'm on stock ICS unrooted, I used the official RUU to get to 2.17
My phone is unbranded if that helps

Has anyone tryed that your phone stutter in the sound, while playing MP3 also slowing down the songs, like it dosent have the power to play? Using audio beats on.

Nope it didnt dare, i was on my bike today, and it was raining, so i let the phone stay in my jacket.
But have only had the problem today.
This is funny, i have just asked the danish HTC support, they were aware of the problem, and she told me that software 1.29.401.7 should fix it, the problem now is, taht i am currently using that update...
She the asked me if i had use the HTC boot unlucker, becaurse she didnt know if that could effect the phone, i have done that but is on stock rom and kernel and i dont believe that has anything to do with it.
I asked her about warranty when using the boot unlucker, and she told me that they would test the phone for software that could course the hardware problem, and if they didnt find anything, then they would fix the hardware error. So it would depend on phone

Does it ring any bells for you?
When I open the weather app the video is extremely jerky. Anyone else find this.
You'd think that on a flagship device, HTC would make sure at lest there stock apps would run, smoothly.
No such problem with my sensation.

Same here. It's shameful that a device like the hox with Tegra 3 should lag like this.
Uh oh. My replacement HOX (first one replaced due to WIFI fault) has started to flash when opening or refreshing apps.
So far I have only noticed it when doing the first refresh on the official Twitter app and on opening the xda app!
Is this a software/programming issue or is it another hardware fault?
What are other people's experiences?

Correct. At the moment I can't reproduce the problem consistently but I will try to keep this thread updated with what I find.

PS Can a mod please verify my account to remove the 5 minute rule? Ta.
I had a similar problem when using the camera app. I was walking down the street and pulled my phone out to snap a picture and as I was getting ready to take a picture I noticed the screen kept flickering. Only happened once thought

That sounds like the screen corruption issue. Was 99% fixed in 1.28 and completely gone in 1.29. What software are you on?
Running 1.29.206.11 and the updater doesn't say there are any updayes available. Since I first posted I have ve only noticed once. So maybe it is a random glitch that I lucky to have noticed
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
you screen is back to flash? I since I have it never happened
I've noticed this as well, in 1.29.401.11. Seems to just be displaying some uninitialized data for a frame until the texture/etc. is fully uploaded... has yet to cause any problems, but it seems to just be annoying?
Has anyone else got issues with their music skipping about 30-40 seconds into songs? Happens with my Deezer app and everything I have tried so far has not fixed it. I have seen a couple of posts about this but none seem to contain a fix?
Anyone have any ideas?
OTA update 1.26 (?) fixed this issue(turning beats off should also work), furthermore if you are on custom rom with Franco kernel than it's normal that you are experiencing this issue

never knew FranCO had this issue, thanks

Got 1.29 and still got the issue. Don't want to turn off beats as I like it and was a main reason of me getting the phone.

I'd noticed this, but thought it was down to me buying a dodgy pair of beats solo HD's.
Hi guys,
Anyone having issues with screen turning off "blacked out" but the device is still working?
I can still unlock my phone, raise and decrease volume. But screen is off...
Is this problem similar to the initial stages of releases from htc where an overheating core shuts off the screen?
And the only way around it is to hold the power for 10s to restart?

Yes, there are quite a few forums of that around here
one for starters : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859339
search and you shall find more
Went through that before, but the problem occurred after switching to custom rom.
Didn't have this problem pre root and post root
