Gapps keeps force closing - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Keep getting gapps force close on ktoonsez (sp?) Jb 4.1.1 doesn't happen all the time really. Any one else have this issue. I was on one forum and they said to clear data. What all gapps do I need to clear data from?

First backup using TiBu or Nandroid or whatever u use.
Do factory reset/wipe data, and then add Google account manually. TiBu restore of account been flaky lately.

Titanium and JB

Are there any known issues with restoring backup app/data to jb from ics? I ask because this is where I began bootlooping after an install of jb that ultimately led to a full factory reset and I really don't want to go through this again.

i restored 230 apps from ics to jb, with their data, without a single issue.
I had no issues with titanium in JB after backing up from ICS. The only issue I have is trying to delete a system app from titanium. I ended up using root explorer.

Google now cant be updated on JB

When I was on JB I was using google now by flashing some flashable zip version , I updated Jb without wiping my data from wildchild JB forum , now I m getting update for google now but every time I hit update I get error.
I tried to uninstall from titanium backup and reinstall again but no success.
Any solutions?

Your best option would be reflash and wipe

I take it you tried to download it from the playstore after uninstalling the sideloaded version and wiping cache
Just updated mine and I'm running cm10

I had the same problem on my girlfriends phone. Clear data on Play Store & uninstall updates. Reboot too if necessary.
Google now seems to be just one part of Google search these days, maybe that was it

Restoring backups

When restoring a backup from ics to jb or from jb to ics through cwm recovery, should I wipe cache/dalvik or factory in between, or does the back up overwrite things in a manner maikng it unnecessary?

I think you should always wipe cache and dalvik. It will not hurt anything and can only prevent problems.
When you are switching from JB to ICS you may also need to wipe data (unless you are restoring data that was backed up with ICS).
The backup will only wipe/restore what was included in the backup.
Thank you, good to know!

[Q] If I am installing an updated ROM, do I need to do a clean wipe first?

Search is down so forgive me if this is a repeat question. The PACman rom was recently updated and I want to get it. I'm doing a backup regardless, but not having to restore from the backup if the update works out would be nice.
Just flash the update.don't wipe.

And if he has a tons of apps force closing? I suggest you do a clean install .
But if he does not clean wipe then he's saying that he would restore data that means even more FCs
And I updated in a similar way without wiping,no FCs that's why i suggested that

I flashed the update with no wipe like mihirengg19 said to do. Seems to be working fine.
The only FC's I was getting was on the storage page in settings. I haven't run into any new FCs yet.
Thanks for your help.

Nandroid before you do a dirty flash. That way you can wipe and restore from nandroid easily.

APK Backup and Restore

What are you guys using (if any) to backup and restore your APKS between flashes? It's getting a little old reloading all my apps after each rom flash. I 'was' using Reware backup pro, but it seems that with Droid 4.2.1 the things are being corrupted and won't open after reboot. The only way to install after they fail to launch is to perform a system reset and restart.
Thanks much.

Thanks for the app heads up. Also discovered Google backup does a decent job.... So long as I have the correct WiFi connection set up. Lol
OK cool.
