Is there a flashlight app that I can run in the background and use the video camera at the same time? I want to record videos at night and can't find a torch that does this
Video camera already supports this..

Is there anyway to turn on the flash for recording videos in the dark?
Yes download led desire light then turn on the light and then open your camera app.
It works great

Thanks this worked.
Is it possible for you to be able to use the camera while on the phone. Is there a hack for that?

very interesting...
only the STOCK Samsung camera App will give you that message
but if you use any of the Market camera Apps like FX camera or paper camera, vinegar camera, or any other camera they all works even during a phone call

I want to know if there is any script that can activate the zoom in the camera, for me is an important function in the phone, or if someone recommends a functional application in the Xperia Play
cropping your pics after u have taken them will give u better quality or slightly better quality pics instead of zooming which can't be implemented in the stock camera apk
And that goes as well with a third party app like camera zoomfx. Just bought the app thinking there would be a zoom function while using the camera.

You just need to change the zoom type in setting to zoom number 4 (i think)
It zooms in then

It's definitely Zoom type 4. Though, the picture quality is really bad with digital zoom. You're much better off cropping a 5mp image, if quality is a concern.
Will try that Zoom type 4.
Don't like the shutter lag on the stock lg camera, here's an app that does the job
Very fast and simple to use. Down side is u can't take 16:9 pics

Camera App
I like the fact that the ICS Camera App let you snap a photo using the volume buttons, but it took horrible video. Not even close to HD...
hi, but why when you use the third parrty camera app, ex. camera zoom, procapture, the exif information change??
I have set it to every recording quality and its never an option for me to select. Any ideas? I also can't seem to find smooth video recording?

You must go into settings to choose video stabilization and HDR must be turned off.

Thank you so much!! So what is the preferred shooting method for video? I'm going to the beach this weekend for the blue angels air show an want to shoot some videos. Is it better to have HDR on or video stabilization?

I like stabilization better and I personally shoot in FHD. The higher video resolutions does Not allow HDR, stabilization or dual cameras. Just start shooting now and see which mode works best for you. Good to familiarize yourself with the options. Good luck!
