Also I now have LTE symbol back instead of just 4G.

I was just wondering about this yesterday. I was on Sony's sight from Finland looking at some of the videos of the T and TX. They look to have quite a few added features. The TX is water resistant like the Acro. Nice find.

I can't say I've noticed the difference in the Home.apk, but the SystemUI provides stock notification bar toggles (not customizable), and the LTE symbol being back is nice. The new SystemUI also feels smoother but I can't say for sure. I plan on trying out some of the other stock apps (Calendar, Conversation, Photo Editor, etc..) soon. I'll report back.

I'm anxious to hear about the calendar, personally I think ours sux.

No difference in the photo editor and calendar.

I've changed back to my modded SystemUI, the stock GX notification bar toggle just weren't flexible enough for. So far it looks like everything is pretty much the same.
One promising app is that "location based wifi", that turns off wifi once you're out of range. Not sure how it works or if you need locations enable for it to work, but it could be pretty handy.

No difference that I noticed, but I was already on ICS .233, just wanted to see if anything changed or improved with the GX software. The only improvement I saw was the SystemUI and the notification bar toggles. If we didn't have mods, than I would keep using it. Two things I didn't like about the GX toggles; every time you turn on data you had to confirm and no customization, so no GPS or Brightness.

Oh I see. No change from ICS. Will you post a screenshot of the calendar. Im still on Ginger.
Sent from my LT28at

This is also a early dump of a yet to be released device. From what I can tell the Mint is the T and the GX is now the TX. So maybe once the dumps from these devices leak we may see some difference or new stuff. Good to know its so easy to port things on Sony devices though.

Just like it says on the original thread, change permissions (rw-r--r-- ) and move it to system/app then reboot.
The toggle on the mods section are better than the stock gx toggles imo. I switched back a while ago.
Current Phone: LT28 - Sony Xperia Ion | Rooted ICS

Can we even use a modded one on our ion's? Can you link the modded section? I don't want to use the wrong one.

Yeah bro I was just happy to ditch that att animation myself, was glad this came available.
Actually the "sounds" refer to the ringtone and notification included in the .rar file. No sound for the bootanimation. I'm looking through the rest of the system for any other usable stuff but most is the same already contained in our ics. I'll keep looking, eb

I tried the Home.apk and HomeAdd.apk, didn't really notice any difference.
Also tried the SystemUI, and it works fine. Just like the GX systemui, you get the LTE symbol back and the stock notification toggles.
I also tried to see if I could bring in the small app stuff, but can't get it to work. After doing some reading, it looks like the framework needs to be modded to get these working. Unfortunately this is beyond my skill at this point.
Calendar is the same.
Tried the SemcPhone but it crashes on receiving a call. I think there is more involved than just replacing the apk, idk. But I do know the T's SemcPhone is a bit larger than the Ion's so I'm guessing there could be some changes/differences/improvements.
For anyone interested here is the thread with the deodexed T system dump;

Yeah, the "Home" apk is exactly the same if you look at size and date. There's just not enough difference yet in the rest to constitute the effort, for me that is. However I was looking through the frameworks and noticed what looked liked status bar toggles. Is that what you're talking about? Does the "T" have toggles? That would be the **** and well worth porting. eb

Yes, the T's SystemUI has built in toggles (not customizable) just like the GX's did. I just copied to system, set permissions and copied over my existing in system/app. I'm using it right now and works fine on the Ion. If anyone is going to try this back up your existing systemui up first.

Deactivating status bar toggles

I don't have the Xperia zl right now but am planning to get one if it gets released in Germany but maybe some of the owners can help me out with my question.
I saw that the Xperia z and zl have toggles in the status bar. Can they be deactivated in settings? If not, Is it possible to edit the systemUI.apk or maybe another file in the system to remove them?

I want them removed because I don't like their style and rather use widgetsoid for status bar toggles, but having both looks ugly so I would like to remove the stock status bar toggles.
Maybe someone can give me a tip which file to mess with to remove them.

Another question I got while reading through the XZ forum: As both, XZ and XZL, are the same regarding OS and hardware it should be possible to use Mods on the ZL designed for the Z? I think custom roms is another field as there should be differences with for example the baseband but mods should work or am I completely wrong?
Any update on this? Could someone make a guide on how to remove the toggles?
Now that we're at modifying the SystemUI I have another question related to this topic. Is it enough to rename an icon (for example the one used for stamina mode) to remove it from being shown in the notification bar? As I read through some topics and looked at screenshots there are some icons I would like to remove from displaying when I get my Xperia ZL.
As the Xpeia ZL has an odexed ROM I guess I have to first deodex it, there is an guide of tickle my android I guess that describes how it is done, I guess it can be applied to the XZL?
Thanks in advance for answering.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
You might want to check the Xperia Z thread as they have been doing this and that phone has had a good head start in terms of XDA dev. Since they are quite similar, the mod might work for the ZL as well.
I read through the Xperia Z forum but didn't find a mod that could remove the toggles, did you found one?
Ok, I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38723261 mod in the Xperia z forum but the link isn't working. Maybe if we all ask the guy to put another working link he'll put it up because so far he hasn't reuploaded the link for the 3 people who've asked him to.

It should be as simple as finding/replacing the smali code to match the mods for Z. I'd have to take a look at it, but if the Z/ZL are indeed the same then all the mods should work.

Hello, XDA members,
I've upgraded today to JB .200 firmware and messages / dialing numbers background is white? I've tried to change themes but that didn't help much.
Do you happen to know where to set black background?
Regards,
Lucas
There is no way to set the background of dialer and messages. Face it.
Or maybe later somebody will post a theme to change the background of these apps to black.
Thanks for the answer, but it really looks strange, that everything is in dark and messaging / dialer are in white. I use this phone often in low light environment that is why this white color is such just horror to my eyes.
I'm sure that ICS had dark scheme all over the place but JB so smooth that I won't downgrade to ICS.
