Sending in for warranty - HTC One X

Hi all.
I need to send my HOX in for warranty because of a weird blemish on the top of the screen.
I know I need to flash stock ROM, recovery and lock the bootloader but what else? Should I bother unrooting it?
Also, I don't know which RUU to use for it. I've had a bit of a browse and I can't find anything that details which one should be used or how to find which one to be used. I never noted it down when I first rooted, flashed and all that other jazz.
Thanks guys.

You need to work it out from your CID.
fastboot getvar cid
Maybe, or
fastboot getvar main-ver
Or CIDGetter from the play store.

All I could find is that it depends on where the phone was from and whether or not it was carrier branded. As for mine, it was from Europe and unbranded and unlocked. Unfortunately for me there are 6 European RUUs and 3 of them are 1.29

Well that will be difficult. Do you remember what software number it was at all (1.26.708.2 or something like that)?
If you can't well that is gonna be a bit hard. Download CID getter from the market and at least get your CID. Maybe you can ask around who has got the same CID as you. That might narrow it down for you.
Thanks alot!! you saved my life. My cid are : 044 . Googled arround and i found out that was Asia_WWW . I am downling stock rom now.

[Q] How do I change my CID (and get EU RUU)

I have gotten myself a s-offed HTC One X from a local carrier with their firmware on it so I have no real hope of fast updates...
CIDgetter says in the top left I have CID of 11111111, yet going down to ro.aa.maincid says TELENZ001 - the carrier
Obviously I am s-offed and can get into the bootloader, how do I go about changing my CID and flashing a European RUU?
Have you tried just plugging in when in fastboot and running the RUU? If you really do have Super CID it'll just work
Sorry to ask this but have you contacted the guys in the s-off thread? They may be interested in hearing from you.

Can you make a picture of the bootloader. To see what version HBOOT and radio you have. Maybe this is causing the issue.

If you have superCID then choose whatever RUU you want from HERE. It will not change your CID if you flash a particular RUU.
May I hook on to this.
My CID is O2__001. So I want to change it into 111111.
When I boot into fastboot and give 'fastboot oem writecid 11111111' it says:
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links).
I've tried different usb-ports, different usb-cables
Or is there another way to change the CID?
Bootloader is unlocked (HTCDev)
HBoot: 0.43.0000
Softwareversion is still 1.26.206.2, no updates available
Someone can help me?
Thanks in advance

[Q] Get back to stock using Ruu

So, I'm running Android Revolution HD 6.0 and I want to get back to stock...
My phone came with an Asian Rom of some sort and I have a Nandroid Backup.
I've tried to simply flash a Ruu "Europe_1.29.401.11" but it force close before any process start.
Do I have to get back to that stock, then relock the bootloader to do so???
Can I re-Unlock the bootloader if I need sometime??
It's my first HTC, I'm ok about using odin and rsd lite but never flashed any Ruu, so in HTC matters I'm pretty noob.
Thanks.

You have to re-lock bootloader to flash official RUUs, and you can unlock it everytime you want using the unlock.bin you get from HTCdev (on your mail).
But you have to be sure you are using the right RUU
Read the threads relating to ruu carefully. Pretty important.
One thing. You can't use any ruu. Your phone did have a Asian rom initially and so you need the ruu corresponding to that area. And if phone was branded, you need the ruu specific to that brand.
So like if you your phone was from Hong Kong region, you need Hong Kong specific and carrier specifi(if your hox was branded ) ruu.
One more thing, u can only use the ruu of your current os version.
So if you're on 1.29.11, you can't use ruu for 1.29.7
See stickies for in android development section for ruu.
Although I think re locking bootloader should be enough and you should be good to use ruu, do check it.
Not sure if it would require flashing stock rom or stock recovery.
Last thing... Why use ruu? It's probably the last thing you should do unless it's a try to reclaim warranty.
I just want to get my phone to a stock rom, that was why...
but I guess I'll just stick to custom roms, since the Ruu stuf is actually pretty scarring... I tought it was simple to do, since fhasing via odin was always fast and safe...
But that's ok!
Thanks!!!
So, that was my shipped Ruu...
Can I flash an European over it??

It's very simple really.
1. Find the correct RUU
2. Flash stock recovery(not 100% sure if needed, I did it though)
3. Relock bootloader
4. Run RUU while still in fastboot.

[Q] Troubles... Troubles Everywhere!

Hello people,
I bought an HTC ONE X and it just happened to be a:
HBOOT: 1.12.0000
SW: 2.17.707.3
RADIO: 2.1204.135.20
CID: HTC_044
and this effectively corresponds to some Eastern Asian region. Nevertheless, I had my phone sim-less until I unlocked it, installed CWM, then installed this custom ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868200 It looks exactly like the stock ROM, but deodexed, zipaligned, etc...
Now I tried 2 different SIM cards, non of which work, the device is stuck on Airplane mode, deep-sleep is never entered, and the CPU CORES just happen to be locked at 1.4-1.5GHz all the time which makes the phone hot! The phone is typically unusable now to me. I tried all various kinds of fixes, resets, nothing works, what I am planning to do now is to re-install the original RUU, but I'm wondering what will happen to my HBOOT version? Will it stay the same? Any thoughts are deeply appreciated as I have researched a lot!
I'm glad I still have my Galaxy Nexus, modding was even simpler than changing the X's wallpapers
Oh and can I reflash another RUU? Europe 2.17.401.2 which has the same RADIO, is that considered a downgrade?

If so, shouldn't I be downloading that other original ROM?!

well, you don't need to look at the radio. you can try by the way to run a RUU and see if that installs... you have to know only your CID
Code:
adb getvar cid

Code:

and that number has to be the same of the RUU that you want to run, cause there are different RUUs for different One X smartphones

The phone is unlocked, S-On and did not change the firmware unless that can occur with different roms. Yes, trying to run the RUU app and it errors out.

No, firmware does not change with ROM flashing. And since you are S-ON, your CID should match as well with your RUU. Do you see a bar on the phone? Can you get back into bootloader or recovery?
Also helps to post the error, stops us having to guess what you're seeing
I've attached the error its giving me.
