Has anybody had issues connecting their Google Voice to their voicemail? I just tested it, but when I got to the "configure" screen where it has you select Google Voice or Voicemail in the options, nothing else happened, and when I tested it, my voicemail went to my TMo inbox instead of Google Voice.
I'm running frostyjb R3, default modem.
Same thing happened to me, so I un installer GV and reinstalled it with no problems.

If you uninstall Voice, and then re-installed it and no luck, try calling up T-mobile and have them switch your voice mail provider to Google Voice. I had to do it on my wife's phone and that fixed it.

What ROM are you using? I'm on a stock-ish jellybean leak, not stock or CM-anything.
I know calling T-Mobile would probably solve it, but their phone tree is terrible, and I'd like to avoid it if possible (even though it's probably inevitable)

I am running salvage mod 1.1 after switching from a sense rom. I set up Google voice and thought everything was going fine. Well I received a couple voicemails and they keep trying to go to my sprint voicemail. I tried to delete Google voice and reinstall and it still wouldn't work. Any suggestions?

Not trying to be an ass but try posting this question in this thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881557
The reason I'm saying this is because you have a better chance of someone answering your question then if you post it here where you have people with all sorts of different roms installed........BECAUSE it might be a problem with your ROM not Google Voice......hope you fix your problem soon!
When you reset it, did you set your voice mail carrier to google voice, and call that number it tells you to?

Did you check your sent, outgoing box? I don't think Google Voice is updated to work with Jelly Bean yet. At least the voice part of it...
Yeah its not in the outgoing either

And I just hard reset and its still not working. I don't know what the hell is going on!

Same here, reported it to google a little while ago, only seems to affect GV, the normal messaging app works just fine
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34175
also, typing 'send text to <contact>' into the search box then selecting GV does send the message, it's just the speaking the command part that doesn't seem to work.
Justin
Well I wish I had seen your post before I hard reset but at least now I know it won't fix it. Thanks for your help hope it gets fixed soon

Hey guys, I also have another issue with Google Now Voice Search. When I ask for weather forecast, it always returns result for Washington DC although my current location is Dallas, TX. The weather card in Google Now main screen displays the correct location, though. Anyone has the same problem?
P/s: I managed to get OTA update to JB 4.1.1 by doing the clear framework trick and restarting my phone several times, does that have anything to do with the above issue? Thanks!!!
is google doing anything to solve this problem ??
I haven't seen any updates to google voice app lately
Does anyone else have any problems setting up with att?

Google Voice cant pull my att data and all that it just wont allow me to use voice as a voice mail option, so im reflashing, and stuck with my horrible issue of rooting :/ lol got it last time, just got to keep working at it this time
Ah, I never use it for voicemail anyway so I might not be much help.

Test the voicemail even if it says it failed. Mine never says it succeeds, but it works. I use Google Voice exclusively for calls.

:/ well i reflashed and got the teathering option now, but still no luck on the Google Voice :/
Call Settings Error
Could not retrieve and save current forwarding number settings. Switch to new provider anyway?
Yes-
Call Settings updating.
Call Settings Error
Forwarding number change unsuccessful. Please contact your carrier if this problem persists.
so should i go to ATT and see what they say or is there a fix i can do for this?
Try going into Google Voice on your computer and checking out the settings. There is a code you can use to deactivate and reactivate the voicemail feature.
When it fails to set forwarding number, is this in the automatic setup or were you manually forwarding in your settings?

I had same trouble with voicemail. I called to att to deactivate carrier voicemail. They sad it's already expired??? I know I have att voicemail and it's active. So no help from support. I changed manually forwarding numbers to gvoice number. And voicemail number to gvoice. And everything working for me now.

you may have to just set up manual call forwarding to set up google voicemail.
*004*your number#
example; *004*1 212 660 2245# (no spaces)

This seemed to have fixed my problem for now, i dont get very many calls so ill have to keep calling myself to test it.
Thanks guys!
I've had Google voice since I've had a droid 1so i know it worked before. I've had my gnex for more than a year and had no problems (different ROMs too). It just stopped working all of a sudden. I signed out, I uninstalled it. It says my carrier doesn't support it. I've always had Verizon.
I've gone to the help thing it gives me. That didn't do anything. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, any suggestions?

Update: so i called my Google voice number with another phone and it works. But if I call my cell number it goes to my Verizon Voicemail. Idk why or how.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You might try going to the Google voice site. Login and go to your phone listing in the settings. I am next to your mobile should be a link for deactivating voice mail. I'd click that, ignore what it says next and click okay, then click activate again and punch in the code it gives you to setup forwarding again. It sounds like that might have gotten lost some how.
If it doesn't say deactivate then just do the activate process again. I haven't always had the best luck with the app setting the settings correctly so this might help.
Good luck!

Howdy,
I just switched to T-Mobile today with a new G3 and ported over from Verizon.
I am having a problem getting the visual voicemail to work. when I try to use it, I get a unable to communicate with server error. This was happening on my wife's LG G3 too, I setup my regular voicemail just fine.
Anyone else having this problem? Or do you think it could be something to do with the porting process (everything seems to have ported fine)
Or any other suggestions (besides resetting my phone, I will try that last, but would like to not have to set up everything again)
Thanks!
Use Google voice way better

How are you using google voice? On my handset, I have it all set up as I should, but the "Voicemail Provider" option within call settings is greyed out, I cannot change that to google voice.

Keyword there is "showing."
It's Google Voice. Call your phone from a different phone to confirm and you should hear your Google Voice greeting.

You can also call T-Mobile and have them do the following:
--Disable Voicemail on your line
--Setup the forwarding number to be your Google Voice number
You can also setup the forwarding yourself the be the Google Voice number. After doing this, even if I don't install GV after a flash, the calls still go to GV voicemail and whatnot.
