Has anyone had any issues with their sd card? My phone will read it in recovery and i can move files to it just fine but when i boot into the system it won't let me do anything with it except unmount it or format it. It also doesn't display anything i have saved on it in any application. thoughts anyone?

I'm having the same issue. I guest that's why I'm scared to put my new SD card in my phone. The SD card that I had before I was getting an error message saying that SD card is now damaged.

I'm not sure if this is something I've just blatantly over looked on all my android devices (shsme on me if so) but is there a way to see if my sd card is fat32 or exfat without having to connect it to my pc to check? thanks for any help.

i always thought it could only read fat32, so my guess is it has to be fat32
i can assure you that "only fat32 is pretty far off, as im pretty sure ive had ext2,3 and 4 amongst a few other types. but thanks for trying

some recoveries have an option that lets you view all the different file systems on your phone and sd card. see if your recovery supports that.
maybe i just didn't realise that i may have seen it in clockwork...does anyone know of a recovery that specifically has this function/ability?

Ext4 does but we don't have support yet...
Do it on your pc if you have an sdcard reader.

my pc croaked last week. that's why I'm trying so hard this way...now when u say "ext4 does" are you meaning that there is a new custom recovery named ext4 just like the format type? or do you mean something else?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
There is a custom recovery called ext4 that allows you to see what format your sd card is. Not for the gs3 yet.

It's actually called "4ext recovery", should've mentioned that

You can use an app like Link2SD where instead of moving the app, it links things like the cache to the external. Probably not exactly what you wanted, but it semi does what you're asking.
at least there was a Chinese software can move all stuff to external sd card.
called 360 Safety Guard.
Okay I will try does out guy thanks

when you go to settings storage does it show up? if so its reading it.. if not you may need to format it through the device or on the computer. if it does show in settings storage look in files under mnt\extsdcard and thats where it is..

it should be automatically downloaded straight to it... if not go to your browser settings and change it or whatever app you are using change it there...

i dont think you can...ive tried using 3rd party browsers as well...even ones that prompt you where to save the file..and browsing the sd card isn't an option..i just download it to my download folder then move it afterwards
however obviously i havent tried them all..ive used stock, chrome and opera
So I am rooted and I am on IOKP v1.4 11/14/13. My phone is not reading my SD card and its a 32gb. Was working on my s2 before I put it on this phone. Now its not working. I'm not sure what the problem is but its pissing me off. My apps can't even update because it says "insufficient storage available" my internal is somehow full. Even though I have no music, no photos or anything that takes up a lot of space. I cleared my phone up and still saying I used a lot of space. Any suggestions or what I should do exactly? Thanks in advance.
