need some help - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

ok so lastnight i some how cracked my screen on the inside, the actual glass is still good, i cant use my phone as the screen is all black, is there any way to remotely wipe all data before i file a claim to get a new phone, yes i have insurance...

You can do it via adb or just Odin a one click that wipes data, it shouldn't be very difficult to get it into Odin mode with no screen...

How to Wipe Phone WIth Broken Screen

I have a phone that has a broken screen. I am selling it for parts and would like all of my information off of it. I know how to use ODIN and ADB.
Are there commands through ADB that I can use to wipe the device? Is there a full-wipe ODIN image that I can flash to the phone? I would like it to be free of my data before I send it off.
I tried using Android Screen Cast, but all I get is a black screen when I open the program. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, ODIN back to stock wipes data, but I may be mistaken.

Where is the ODIN image for stock for this phone? Could you put up a link for me?

I have never tried flashing any of his tars before, but if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask in that thread before flashing!

Thanks for the link. I ended up finding it before you had a chance to link it. Now ODIN is stuck on cache.img.ext4. And it has been stuck there for about a hour.
adb shell
format SYSTEM:
format DATA:
format CACHE:

I do not remember if odin wipes your internal "sdcard" , be sure to check /mnt/sdcard , and delete anything you don't want to the next person to get ..
EDIT: You may have to "su" in the shell ..

It does that whenever you ODIN flash a kernel that wasn't signed by Samsung. It also increments the ODIN flash count.
If you ODIN flash a stock kernel, the yellow triangle will go away and the I9100 stuff will go back to what it was before. The ODIN flash count will remain the same (ie incremented by 1) but you won't see it during the boot process. If you want to reset that, use a USB jig.
The better way to install CWM is after obtaining root, use Option C in the Auto Root package. This will not trigger the yellow triangle, nor will it increment the ODIN flash count.
You can find the individual kernels in the 2nd post of each of the ODIN links in my signature. You can use any kernel, but for ease, just pick the version that matches what you installed.

Are you sure you are flashing the right stuff for your phone and not the GSM Galaxy II stuff. check your pc in the device manager area and see if your phone is being recognized by the pc
Ive reinstalled them twice and well it is recognized as SAMSUNG CDMA Tecnologies and thats all no mount or anything
Also, so you have attampted to boot into download mode, and connect to computer. Does Odin recognize the connection?

I am sending my Verizon gnex to Verizon for replacement and was clearing the phone. I formated the storage and sd card and something else. Now there is nothing on my phone. No recovery, no Rom no image. Nothing. Volume +/- and power get options but end with Andy on his back with a red triangle with a ! . If I enter any other fast boot or Odin I get th Google unlocked screen. I need it to show locked for return. I am not returning for this reason, I had already upgraded. And trading in for credit. Thanks in advance.
You'll have to fastboot flash a new recovery and adb push a stock ROM.

follow this guide exactly.
The blue line at the bottom shows up when I plug in usb. It says fail. And when I push files it says same thing on computer. It does still have Odin. Is there a way to push files in Odin? The computer doesn't see it in Odin though. I just want that little lock to lock. I don't care if the phone works or not as long as it's locked. Thanks

Don't use tool boxes.
Morning y'all, sorry for the delay in responding. I wasn't able to revive it. The toolbox will recognize my phone but only in fastboot. The phone has the fail to connect blue line on it. Otherwise adb doesn't see it. I have little experience in adb. I haven't given up. I just have to take a break. I thank y'all for the help. I will be back.

When you are booted into bootloader but a "fastboot devices" does not list your device, it's almost always caused by having installed either no driver at all or the wrong one. Use the naked driver, follow the link in my signature to find it.

What you see is the stock recovery. Android will flash it back automatically even after you've flashed a custom recovery. To prevent this, you must either rename/delete /etc/install-recovery.sh OR rename/delete /system/recovery-from-boot.p.
LTE radios are in the factory images. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895

Navigate to the folder /etc with a file manager. Remount with RW rights (root explorer has a convenient button for this) and rename the file install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak.
Then reflash a custom recovery. This time it will stick.

[Q] What means "one click flashing"?

Hi, I am studying android and custom roms...
I found the term, "one click flashing". (I am usually playing in AT&T android development forum. In particular, Ditto Note 3)
What means "one click flashing"?
Waiting for reply.
Thanks.
Have a good day.
The file is downloaded to the pc, is unzipped, and then ran in administrator mode. The phone is booted in download mode and connected to the pc. Then you click 'start' once, and the rom is installed.
What do you mean the file is ran in administrator mode? I assume you are talking about Odin? I am not familiar with Odin very much. I too am wanting to know this in reference to the DN3 rom.
Admin mode is windows 7
How is one click different than a normal flash with Odin? In one click do you still have to select the file into the PDA slot to flash a bootloader? On the Play store there is a mobile Odin. Can I use this to flash a bootloader? I don't have access to a PC so do it the traditional way through Odin is difficult for me.

You don't have to put anything into the PDA slot. The one click works, like your opening a zip file. Once it's open,, Odin would pop up on your PC... Then your phone is put into download mode,, connected to the PC. Hit start wait till it completes...
Done...
As far as MobileOdinPro...
I've heard some people used it to flash...
Just read and know what your doing\flashing using mobile Odin ok...

Okay, you make it sound so easy. I have yet to be able to get Odin to work. I have downloaded countless versions of Odin from xda and when I put the phone in download mode and flash a file in pda slot nothing happens, it says 0 ran, 0 failed. I have downloaded the file several times and still no go. When I use Odin it never shows my model number on the top of the program. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to flash the bootloader to 4.3. Don't know if this matters but I used the heimdal method to root my phone on a Mac, but since no Odin on Mac, I have been using a pc for it.

If you use windows 7 or 8 the drivers are native, so you don't have to do anything.
