I'm going to buy wave II today, why? that's because it has the same hardware as galaxy s and it's 200 CHF (stronger then USD) cheaper than galaxy s and now that the android 2.2 alpha is here, i have no reason not to buy this. I would like some quick suggestions about this device...i mean...i would want to have a moderate gaming on this device + video calling on yahoo/skype...so tell me if there are good games for bada and what's the future of this phone (android stable with dual boot?)
Dito. Got mine today and don't know whether to keep it or sell it. But where did you find an Android alpha?

It's an incomplete version and i don't think it's available to everyone:
The project to port Android
Froyo 2.2 on Wave
Looking forward to more suggestions
Forget about Androbada. Nothing has been released, they only ***** about everything and I think they stopped working. Looks like a fake to me.

Dont buy a bada device! you will be disapppinted. there is no skype or anyother voip app. if you say you want to buy it because of hardware , then i will say a hardware is useless unless it has a good software. in the same range you could buy other android device like galaxy ace. Bada app store is filled with bul**** applications. there are 13000 apps and games in market but only 10 or 20 usefull applications.13000 figure is achived because a lots of theme are in app store. due to this huge no of theme searching for a particular app is troublesome. The no. of free app available in market is not good and none of them are of any use. Web browsing experience is very poor. web browser is crap. address bar hides the top portion of page and you cant click a single link situated on top of the web page. No flash 10.1 support. And many more more disadvantages. if i try to write them all the whole page will be filled.

just a clarification ...there aren't 13'000 apps for Bada on the market, there are 13'000 apps on Samsung Apps for any platform (Bada, Android, JavaME, Windows Mobile..), the number of bada apps is nearly less than 3'000 + more than approximately 1'500 themes
(I think this discussion was opened in the wrong section...)
so buying wave II wouldn't be a good idea? problem is the store where i returned my phone are not paying back the money and they want me to buy a phone off their shop and they have no decent android phones (no galaxy ace..) so my only choices are:
-Wave II
-Xperia X10 mini
-sony ericsson vivaz u5i
-LG optimus one
and the phone with the best hardware is wave II...so idk what to buy
@guari: thanx for correcting me! i realised my mistake but could not correct it due to some problems in my net connection.

ehh is difficult to choose between those four, but all have the same price? in this case probably the waveII would be the best choice...2th the optimus one, is a good device with froyo, but it has a lower-end hardware, regardless of the operating system, you'll feel the difference with the wave (small, low quality and low resolution display, worst camera, especially for video, really poor gpu, no front camera for videocall...)
You said you'll use it for gaming and skype, if you don't want it now (especially skype will be availabe in future), waveII it's good for you
Bada is new so it has disadvantages but to say that it sucks...No.
For what can you use your phone? To make a call? that works...
To write a message on a forum? that works also...
To use as gps? that works... (bought a life time license for route66)
To play a game while I'm on the toilet? that works also...
regards
btw bada 2.0 is coming
Well to be honest, if the person refuses to refund. The only choice i have is to buy Wave II. Tobe honest, i love playing games on smartphones so these are the things why i would like to buy a smartphone.
-Gaming high end...
-Youtube (good quality video)
Skype is just an addition since wave II got front facing camera but i guess there'll be one in the future. I also got interested in buying Wave II when i heard that android was being ported to the phone and of course there are heck loads of things to do on android rather then Bada in terms of gaming...but i don't want to buy an android phone with low end hardware only because it's android...

Keep in mind that there are still not so much good games for Bada.
Also not all youtube clips play on bada.
And still I like my phone.

You wouldn't have said that if you would've owned a Samsung galaxy S but surprisingly it's way too expensive compared to Wave II.
What do you mean by "Also not all youtube clips play on bada."
There is no true application for youtube in bada like for android.
It's a link on browser.
Not the same application for Facebook too.
But there is a very good application for Dailymotion.
I have both galaxy and samsung s8500, I use daily the galaxy S because of size screen and facebook application.
But I love my bada phone, very simple to use, good battery life, excellent photo and camera recorder.
You will only be disappointed if you love installing a ton of applications on your phone... If you have a normal utilization (phone, internet, sms, photo, video) wave II is a very good phone very stable. And Bada 2.0 is coming
how knows when bada 2.0 would be comming...and the bad news about bada is that it's not like android where everyone can develop their own apps/games and upload it on the market...i have no idea which set to buy now...

He means that youtube videos on desktop version which use flash version more than Flash 9, will not play. But you can get most of the videos on mobile youtube and the quality is awesome on wifi. On 3g, it automatically changes to low quality.
i know its supposedly for tegra 3 devices. has anyone tried installing the apk on a galaxy nexus?
couldnt get to download it as "this app is not compatible with your phone" is the message i get from the play store on my computer.
I'd figured they would release a non tegra version as well. I looked at screenshot comparisons and the tegra version just adds more environmental things. Lots of swaying foliage lol.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I read there going to have support for more devices couple months from now. Maybe someone will make a mod.

looks like a really good game. now thinking that id get it on my iPad.
hopefully someone will try out the apk on a non tegra device. who knows... it may work well on the nexus or other high end androids of last year such as the s2 or the note.
installed it on my galaxy player 5
Was able to download a modded version of the apk for non tegra devices and install it. It started up just fine but when it went to download the additional files it stated it could not as "the app appeared to not be purchased". So that is where I am stuck at...
Got this game for my Transformer Prime and its awesome! Graphics and gameplay is amazing.
What i did, is i copied the apk over to my Gnexus and played it with CF3D. You'll need the Tegra plugin to make it work.

I've tried both the unmodded and modded APKs and neither will get past the first three screens before crashing. Running GummyNex LTE 1.0.1 (4.0.4), CF3D 3.3 Pro w/ Tegra plugin, more or less almost the exact same configuration as you are.
Grr. Hell, I even went as far as to crack the Tegra chipset checks by myself just in case there was something overlooked.
Perhaps there is more than one version of the plugin floating around? I have to wonder that because my logcat shows CF3D freaking out and crashing in the middle of recompiling shaders.
Oh well, back to poking at it in the meantime.

Anyone tried it out yet, or would be willing to try it out, or think it will work with the n7? If so, could this be the best option(?) for media for those with the 8gb model. I plan on trying it out when I get mine.

Yeah, I'm very interested in this also. Another reason I am not too worried about being limited to 8GB. It would be great if someone who has access to a Nexus 7 could test this out and share their experience with it, if not I will probably just buy it and check it out myself when I finally get mine. I'm interested to see how well it works for basic tasks, gaming, and watching videos/movies. My ultimate dream would be to stream my Xbox 360 games to a tablet like this, and play something like MW3 on the go.

I agree.. I downloaded PLEX and it's been keeping me looking for more.. I wonder if Splashtop HD will support JB and how long it will be discounted 8.99 (usually 19.99) in the play store.. I hope until the n7 delivers

Splash top HD is listed as not compatible with the nexus 7 but the regular splash top is. Also there's a splash top two coming out for android soon. I think I will get this with my credit but I want the kinks to be worked out first.
Anyone try it already?
I'll try loading up my backup from my tab when its comes next week

What's the difference between the HD version and the regular version? I can't really find anything on their website or from Play Store (other than "optimization" for Android 3.x or 4.x tablets).
As far as I can tell the regular splash top is designed for smaller screens.
I wouldn't mind buying this as long as it is still on sale when they have made it compatible

Afaik hd users will be getting free lifetime subscription to the new version when it comes out (at least they are doing that for ipad people). I got an email about it since I own the standard version. Seems like otherwise it's like 1.99 for the app and 9 dollars a year, which still isn't terrible.
i got the free version from amazon when it was the free app of the day!! cant wait to try it out
That's what I have. It works well and looks good to me streaming movies. That's one reason I was wondering what the HD added.

I have just bought it as it works on my phone as well
Will test it on the n7 later on

I was curious to try it out but the hd version doesn't even show up in the play store on my n7
The regular version seems to work, THD gives me a black screen when trying to remote connect, I'm going to email support and see if there is something in the works, because I am unsure if I need to grab the THD version or the HD.

I'm also getting a black screen on my Nexus 7. It is connected because touches on the nexus translate to the comp, it's just not displaying the video on the Nexus screen.
I'd love for them to get the THD version working. Playing big PC games on smaller devices was always one of the most exciting potentials of Splashtop, and the fact that they support bluetooth controllers and special screen overlays in the THD version is awesome.
It's especially silly because the Tegra tablets they made this version for probably didn't sell at all, but here's the Nexus, which has the potential to sell a whole lot and it doesn't work on it. =(
If anyone gets a response from Splashtop please post it here.

I had emailed Splashtop about the fact that the Anywhere access for free is available for any of the Splashtop "vets", they said that the new feature is unavailable currently for Android, however "we will provide the original SPlashtop Android user the free AAP feature. Please stay tuned, it's coming soon!"
So I guess this means that v2 for HD will be compatible w/the N7? Because it's still listed as incompatible as of this posting...
so should i buy hd now or wait to its compatible? because i already have the normal splashtop from amazon.

try ppsspp and play almost all your old psp games.so if it runs like a psp that's basically a portable gaming console...at least for me...even plays at higher resolutions....connect a joypad...but I try to keep gaming to a minimum...as in most lithium batteries, it will really push out the charge cycles and the battery is not replacable...still excellent bat life for me at least....
I think it's one of the best tablets on the market.

This! All Games i have are Smooth to play without laggs or something similar.
Games i tested:
GTA: San Andreas
GTA: Vice City
Ravensword2
NOVA 3
Order & Chaos
and a bunch of games like Final Fantasy (3 - 5), EKO online, Iruna Online, world of goo etc
All this Games are playable on the highest settings.
Its one of the higher spec tablets (if not the highest spec tablet in the "smaller" 7 to 8" form factor), so obviously its going to hold its own with games for some time to come.
Tablet is great, but the battery should be better.
galaxy note 3 not seen as a tablet on playstore?
So being the proud owner of samsung galaxy S3 I found my self jealous of my friend being able to play Magic the gathering duels of the planeswalkers 2014 on his samsung galaxy tab 7 everywhere i read that the game is only compatible in tablets and thought hey I can do the same so purchased the slightly larger screen and better spec Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet on craigslist brand new, quickly destroyed the box and jumped to the play store ready to get my beast on! I think you can unlock all apps/games in the app store (even those that are not compatible with your device) by installing xposed framework and the appropriate module using wanam xposed or xblast from the play store. Not 100% sure but worth a look unless someone else can shed some light or suggest something else.
A few months ago, Samsung has said it will cooperate with the small game developers to launch the exclusive games for its Galaxy devices. Now, Samsung has officially introduced the first game of this program is the Twin Link.
Due to the program's proprietary game "Game for Samsung ', so you can not download it on Google Play Store, but only for those with the new Galaxy Apps Store can download the game. But in fact, it seems that the company has only released a number of games in certain markets, I use the Galaxy Note 4 but when in Galaxy Apps is not found, a lot of people also face a similar situation with other devices Samsung as S7 or S6, S5.
But now the game has also appeared on the popular sharing apkmirror applications. I'll attach links below. (Tested normal play)
Basically if anyone ever played through Monument Valley puzzle game will see the link Twin very familiar with the array definition graphics and sound. This is also a good thing, because the fact one of the factors is also very praiseworthy Twin Link. The game has simple graphics oriented, gentle sounds highly entertaining.
In terms of gameplay, the Twin Link with fairly simple gameplay, you will control a twins and simultaneously controls both the screen play to their destination at the same time. How to play the game puzzle is quite familiar, as the later the challenge will be higher.
Overall, this is a game worth playing, a good first step for the program Samsung's proprietary game. If you own a Galaxy Galaxy Apps, try to check out, or download apk file from the link below. With the other Samsung devices, I have not had the opportunity to test, but it can also be played using APK files, you can download the trial.
