Recommend me a CWM flashable Rom based on... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey XDA
Ok Im new to rooting & I only haved rooted to the Wicked Rom as of late, didn't even try to go forward with their red/blue theme or bloat loader level 1 or 2 because theres no directions on even how to do it so w/e
Basically Im looking for a pretty basic stock mod either with ICS 4.0.4 or Jellybean. MY MAIN concern is all the stock functions that I should be able to use with the phone, (wifi calling all the way to motions).:good: 2nd BATTERY LIFE  , 3rdly, all around FAST & SNAPPY Not too worried about the overral lay out because I can use nova or go launcher to my liking... & of course, ZERO BLOAT WARE
CLIFFS OF RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS:
CWM Flashable
ALL stock functions.
BATTERY LIFEEEEEE
Fast & Snappy response
ZERO bloatware.
Would greatly appreciate the help, I searched around but not one any1 wanted these specific layout of priorities.
Thnx in advance!
Cheers~

Pretty sure the wicked themes are flashable. Although wicked v4 now uses aroma installer which lets you choose the theme, kernel, and bloat levels. Always be sure to back up before you do anything.

thanks but you know what? seems like its not that great on battery life IMO.

Depends also on what kernel you choose. Many say trinity and ktoonesz kernels are the best with battery life. Also check out the xquizit or crimson roms and Look through the threads and try to find what you prefer. Try to Go through the whole thread because many questions have been answered in previous pages.

No problem man. Good luck! Be sure to back up, factory reset, wipe cache & dalvik when switching between ROMs. (Make a habit of it )

Flash to latest stock via Odin, root and install titanium backup and remove the bloat yourself.
Honestly I am very impressed with stock! (I am running CM10 though)
Experimenting with kernels would be good, though they may break functionality...
All of those stock features that are so cool (motions) are battery consuming... though I have had consistent good battery with this phone. Coming from EVO 4g with 3500 mah extended battery that didn't last much longer...

Are there any ROMs that actually work

Are there any stable e4gt roms that are better than stock ek02 with everything working cuz battery life is a poor trade off for working features in my opinion. Example if wimax is not working or tether to get more battery life whats the point

I am also not sure how to approach this. There are only a few roms that don't support wimax.. I suggest calkulins. It's my go to rom. I've heard starburst is pretty good too.. But in the future, please try to read a bit. maybe look at the roms that have a lot of view and/or comments. The OP of each thread will tell you just about everything you need to know.
IMO, there is no more stable custom ROM right now then UnNamed. If I wasn't so flash happy, I would stay with that but I'm changing ROMs every 2-3 days now...
But anyway, yeah UnNamed is the best ROM as far as stability is concerned.
Oh and I got over a day of moderate use from it. Don't believe me though, try it out!
Have not tried unamed yet

+1 for Calkulin's roms. Good battery life, stable, so far I have not encountered any issues.
I've been extremely pleased with Calkulin's ROM. I have tried unnamed (which I also like) but I prefer the 5 icon dock and 5x5 app drawer and undervolt/underclock scripts in Calkulin's.
No, none of them actually work...stay on stock...

MJHawaii is right.. UnNamed is a hell of a rom especially with a few tweaks added in. I am quite sure you will not find anyone unhappy with it. Also like mentioned before there is a whole development section of great roms. Just make sure when you try them all you do not restore data and flash all of them cleanly and not on top of each other.
For battery life on this phone may I recommend 200-800 since your phone can clearly handle it...
no offence, but either dont flash and stay on stock or there is always the good ol flip phones!

Got to agree with the previous poster that suggested you just stay on stock. I'd prefer not having to see posts/threads like this in the future....
For the record however, I've been happy with Calk's, Unnamed AND for quite a bit of time now (a whole month or so!) Blend is my current Daily and it is brilliant.
But you.... you stay on stock....

blazer is my daily driver.
i have not tried a single rom that has just flat out been unstable or unusable though; i steer clear of early/experimental builds, bust most of the roms in the dev section for this phone are pretty complete and comprehensive.
this is my first android device and initially i had trouble just rooting the thing, but thanks to xda's dev section my first flash was a piece of cake and i've had no issues or major complaints in 3 months of jumping rom to rom.
Just an observation. But your avatar shows you have at&t, shouldn't you be in a different section? This forum is for the Samsung epic 4g touch. Maybe thats why the roms aren't working. Unless you just havent updated your profile. (Im guilty of that as well)

Busy box is a test to see if you are rooted; unless you are sharing big files.
If you have to be convinced to flash a rom I have no advice for you. Trust me its better

This is my first rooted phone as well and I notice big differences with roms. I was using Jugs4.1 for a while and my phone was way faster and had better battery life. Along with the quick toggles and ability to change the battery icon i felt like it was a very different experience. Right now I am trying out bombardier rom and the battery life is AMAZING!! I consistently get 20+ hrs and I am a pretty heavy user. Id say just try out different roms and then go back to stock and you should see the difference.

Best Custom Rom RIght Now?

I've been doing a lot of research regarding custom Sprint GS3 ROMs as I'm finally getting my GS3 today.
I really want something Jelly Bean based, but only if it's really not too buggy. CM10 looks sick but there still seem to be many bugs. I don't know much about AOKP.
What about non Jelly Bean? Is Blazer the best? At the very least something that gives me extra features and a longer battery life is preferred over stock. I still have to do reading regarding how to update ROMs without losing user data etc.
Anyways, can users of those three ROMs describe what problems they run into during regular daily usage? If the only bugs are minor or wouldn't affect me I don't mind using the ROM while the kinks are being worked out.
Thanks!
A true flashoholic would try them all

Haha I'm trying to NOT become a flashaholic. Back when I first got an iPod Touch (1st gen) and after that an iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4, I was really into jailbreaking and it got pretty annoying after a while so I stopped. I just want Jelly Bean because it seems so much smoother than ICS.

Man, this GS3 is so shiny
Now I really just want to avoid having to constantly flash my ROM, since I assume doing so will wipe alll of my apps/settings. Is that the case, or is such information stored in such a way that if I flash to a new ROM my apps and media are still intact?
Also I'll look into FreeGS3 more. I'm itching for Jelly Bean, but I don't think CM10 is usable enough yet for me.

I would agree with this. I've flashed most of the ROMs out for the SG3 and i've enjoyed Blazer the most. It's simple, easy and perfect for my needs. The other ROMs i've flashed are great as well, I just don't have the desire to have a theme on my device. What's important to me is a ROM that will run smoothly w/o any latency from my multitasking on the go. Spend a day or week and flash them all, you'll find what you like.. guarantee it.

I've been using/setting up FreeGS3 for the past few hours and it's great. Very smooth and not too far from stock (which I'm kind of indifferent about I guess since this is my first Android phone). Once I get all of my apps/preferences up and running and my media transferred we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for input everyone! Hopefully the actual CM10 or another Jelly Bean based ROM will be available sometime over the next month.

Not to be rude or anything but all one has to do is look at some of the popular ROMs in the development sections to get a pretty good idea. The popular ones tend to always be near the top, provide great documentation and support, and provide pictures and videos to get you a great idea of the experience. Just spend 30 minutes looking over the various options, and flash a few to see which one you want to stick with. Flashing ROMs is so easy nowadays that it really is just a matter of how much time you are willing to spend playing around with them. I'm waiting for Jellybean ROMs before I really make the jump and satisfied with the performance of stock (with Nova launcher) until those JB ROMs become pretty stable and can be used everyday.
You really can't go wrong with any rom currently out. I've tried them all out and they won't disappoint. I'm currently running Freeza's rom and though it's touchwiz based, he really changed it up.

For me they have all basically been the same in regards to battery life. At a minimum I can pull 16 hrs on battery with 4+ hrs of screen on time with each rom. I'm not really into playing games on my phone so that helps. However, battery life is really user dependent because we all use/set up our devices differently...so what may end up being good for me may not be the best battery life for someone else. Definitely give each one a try though and see which works best for you

I don't think that's necessarily true. I've seen a few people post that FreeGS3 is noticeably smoother and less laggy than Blazer. Not knocking Blazer since it may have some other features that people prefer.
For my previous phone (EVO 3D), I tried several Sense ROMs and there was a significance difference in performance among them. Is it such a stretch to assume that a similar variance would be present in custom TW ROMs?

Well I wouldn't know as I've only tried stock, freeza's fre3 and blue odex since coming over from the og epic.. I guess my "word has it" comment came from reading http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29890564 <-- that
I guess my point is obviously people like all these roms, or they prob wouldn't always be the top four threads all day long...
It really depends on your own preferences as they all appear to be stable and running well..
Again my advice, pick one and flash it.. if u feel like trying something else then try that too.. If somethIng goes wrong restore your backvup.. again.. the beauty of xda.

I get your point but the beauty of XDA is also in the ability to solicit opinions to make an informed decision. I don't think my question was that out of line. It's not as open ended as simply asking what the "best" ROM is.

Good Kernels For Stock Rooted

I just bought the SIII on Thursday and have been in the EVO line for awhile now and don't really know what devs to keep an eye on... I am looking for a good Kernel that will allow me to clock, volt and if possible w/ sbc! Any and all suggestions are welcome as I will probably try them all... Also are there any stable ROMS that I should take a look at as well?

Freegs3 that's honestly all you need no need for underclocking or anything with the cpu the rom is fast stable I haven't been found a bug yet it has a ton of support ton of people willing to answer your questions and you will get 13+hours of battery with a few minor adjustments

Freegs3 is that a Dev or the name of the Kernel?

Its the name of the ROM. Its by freeza. I consider freeza a dev to keep ur eye on.
As far as the kernel goes, if your on stock(or any touchwiz rom) your choices are limited but the best kernel for battery life is the stock kernel anyway.

Stock gives amazing results as far as battery I don't see the need to over clocking my phone I did when I had my g1 hero my touch etc but why for the gs3

Jamal717 - So, you like the Freegs3 ROM? I haven't tried it yet...I'm not a Sonic fan...I'm concerned Sonic pics would be themed within the ROM. (Are they?) Maybe I should give it a try, though. So far, I have flashed:
1. JellyBomb Domination, v7.0 (Decent)
2. JB Goodness, v4.0 (Fav so far)
3. Frankenstein KilLJoy, v1.0 (Current ROM...enjoying it)
I'm still new to rooting, so I am not even attempting the under/overclocking kernel piece yet.

So I get that Freegs3 is a good rom but what about for stock users?

I tried Freegs3 not bad although there still wasn't much on yhe the under/over clocking and voltage I really hope someone is working on a solid S3 Kernel besides me
SAMSUNG MOMENT CHECK
HTC HERO CHECK
HTC EVO CHECK
SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII PRICELESS
i'm on freegs3. i didn't want a themed rom full of tweaks and stuff that don't benefit me, that's why i went with his. it has auto update capability, and the few tweaks that are included you can choose to install or not during the install process. the only sega themed item is the boot animation, which you can change if you want very easily, he gives a list in the thread. check it out, it's definitely more stable than my stock rom was, it was crashing every 5 minutes. this is great.
