just a guess here but I'm thinking the bulge is the micro usb connection to the backup battery in the case.

Looks like the skin is happy to see somebody while in a speedo.

The Mytouch4G 'Boner Skin'.

where could i get this case?

Too bad the MT4G doesn't have an alternate way of charging aside from the usb port so that a case like this could use a less intrusive, low profile, way of making contact. Like charging pins or something maybe...

Ignoring the side pins for a moment... Why is that bulge so large? It's like the designer has never seen a right angle plug on anything before.

I got this case for 70 bucks from T-mobile store. I have used it for about a week and love it. The bulge is a micro USB connector underneath. You charge the case from the oppisite side when installed on phone. Can't computer doesn't read phone with case installed. The budge doesn't get in the way though. Almost adds a better grip. I would buy it again.

I just got the case today adds a lot of bulk and the case is slippery.

i saw it at the tmo store but unfortunately i'm not fond of rubber skin cases so i had to pass since i couldn't see it outside of the box but i'm really considering trying it out

That's the one thing I hate about mytouch 4g is the side usb connection!
Can't hold the darn thing while charging !

Case is a piece of crap because it lacks a power switch. This means it charges the phone whether it has to or not. Returned it today.

Is there a waterproof housing?

not so useful, when you have sticky finger, and use in a Chlorinated pool. The case seems like been eaten away by the pool PH level or the chlorine it self.
Had one also for scuba diving, the case was well kept the cell seal till 4 feet depth, the screen cracked due to the build of the phone. The case sleeve have no pressure protection due to "soft" casing.

I can't imagine the situation. Can you share some pictures?

the next gen of phone will probably be waterproof,
i saw a new techno that put a "spray" on the componants wich make them waterproof, i saw on youtube a demo of a phone in a aquarium working perfectly without any case...

Is this the video you saw? Pretty insane especially when he opened up the battery door and poured more water on it. If it really works, than great! Not that I shower with my phones. I hope I can post youtube videos on here.

The Buybit case is not waterproof in that you can immerse it underwater - but it should be ok when it rains - Here's a video I posted in another thread

Quick review of Aluminium bumper case and Aluminium back door(High definition photos)

Hi guys.
It's not SZLF. (I thought it would be szlf but its not)
Quality is perfect . Easy to press buttons (Ease of pressing with out case 100%, With case 65%)
I also ask for GUN METAL color. I got ****ty light grey color.
My front is "silver" but the back is "light grey".
.....little disappointed.
But I'm not a petty person, (even If i payed tottaly 60$).....I left a good feedback.

I also order back door (Gun metal color), but is more grey-green than gun metal.
Door also is good quality, just slightly thicker. (1mm maybe)
Conclusion
Before you buying something from ebay...check the pictures first !!!
If the seller does not have pictures you better find another one.
DO NOT BELIEVE to words...

Its not that he wont do it, its that he cant. I believe that the bumpers and the new battery back cover cant be used at the same time. They dont fit together. Which sucks.

Thanks for the pics, I brought the same gray case but from oboStore. You pics make me wish I should ordered the black colour instead to blend in with my black Note.

Where did you buy it? I think it's from Korea..but I'm not able to find this bumper..

Don't be ridiculous. Our phones are filled with physical magnets (like the speakers) and induced magnetic fields. The battery doesn't give two ****s about magnets nor does the display (it's not a CRT screen). Blackberries, iPads and Transformer Prime cases all have way stronger magnets than that one in them for the purpose of operating the smart cover behaviour.
Enjoy your case bro. It's not for me but I can see the appeal.

Maybe my question sounds like a joke, but i'm serious.
When you have an incoming call, you take out the phone or raise the whole case to your head?
I've never had a case like this, but I've always wondered how it's used in a daily routine.

hmmm ...good question.. although i knew this before that i cant use this cover on a reguler basis but then i thought i should buy this as it could be useful while i am traveling so i m gonna use this occasionally only.

Magnets will not harm our phones. You used to have to be careful of magnets with things like harddrives or floppy disks because they used magnetic principles to store data. Old tube style TV's or monitors were the same way. Our phones have moved on to newer technology which is unaffected by magnets.
Second, if you guys want one on the cheap check ebay theres lots of em, only problem is waiting a while.
And this one uses the same idea but i think it looks better personally

Oh yeah seen it happen... especially if too slide across the magnetic field. Not an issue for me everything uses a chip now anyways

flip cover - magnetic?

Whats the chances we will see a flip cover that attaches it self to the phone using a magnetic strip along the bezel of the phone (this is assuming the bezel is aluminium)
a bit like the surface tablet keyboard cover (without the hooks)
will the aluminium be magnetic enough to hold it?

Aluminium is paramagnetic (=very weak magnetism), so it's probably not enough for a cover.
But maybe they install a small magnetic area somewhere inside the cover, so that the flip side can attach to it!? Who knows...

I don't think it'll be 100% pure aluminium. Doping is always done to make such bodies durable

I ordered this flip case before I even got the device. I still dint have the device lol. But I don't know. By looking at your pics it doesn't look bad at all.

Hmm yeah, you are right. It doesn't look as good as I have imagined. I'd have to hope for a better quality flipcase. Or I'll get poetic bumpercase. Not sure.

I've just checked for you and it partially covers it, but it could be different with someone else as the front cover moves so it might be a slightly different fit :good:
