Hi guys,
can anyone plz help me with my problem
i have unlocked wildfire s from other forums tutorials but since xda's tuts were confusing now it seems to be same & i unlocked it officially from htcdev.com
now it has a superuser and its rooted and i have to install customs rom but its ends with bootloop
i have s-on , does it take to make it s-off and then flash custom roms to work properly?
If Yes ?
please give me the link
I have search entire forum but a bit confused also read stickies
also can anyone tell which rom is better for better saving?
cm9 or wildchild v3.0 or anyone?
Thanks
u dont need s-off to install custom rom...u just need to unlock bootloader. Flash a custom recovery like CWM recovery and then flash c.......ustom roms...
both wildchild and cm9 are nice roms....but cm9 has got some bugs...

thanks blogslogger for the link
When ever installing a custom rom, always make a nandroid backup. Then in recovery do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. Once you've done those steps you can install the custom rom and hopefully it should boot up without a problem.
TUTORIAL
Here's a full tutorial for bootloader unlocking, recovery installing, rooting and custom rom (cyanogenmod 10) installing:

You need a recovery mod
I recommend the official clockworkmod recovery 5.02.8

i need steps to follow
1 - root
2 - S-Off
3 - Official RUU
Etc , just the steps to follow and then i will read it's topics...cuz i don't what should i do first
1st of all to root ur phone u need to downgrade to 1.32 follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
then to root i personally prefer a command line approach as u have more control vs an automated tool on what its actually doing, so try this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#VERIFY_.28using_.22gfree_verify.22.29
all the links to files u will need are in the guide.
after that u will be downgraded , rooted , S-OFF , super cid and clockworkmod installed.
for the clockworkmod step id flash Version 3.2.0.0 from the forums, instead of the 3.0.2.5, in the guide, as its the most recent official version.
link to CWM 3.2.0.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1003723
do a Nandroid backup and install a ROM , dunno bout the official RUU roms as i dont use them myself, and if ur going to all this trouble to Root ur device, u might as well try some of the excellent custom ROMS, alot of the Sense roms r very close to stock and support arabic.. Ive used Leedroid & ARHD which are sense based and try'd Miui roms and currently back using Cyanogenmod7-Nightly

after you finished unlocking your bootloader and had installing a custom recovery (like 4EXT, TWRP, CWM recovery) then you can installing custom rom that you want..almost all custom rom is already rooted..
hope you can understand what i mean..
thanks for all
now I understand
Also after you flash the new rom (and assuming that you are only bootloader unlocked and not S-OFF), be sure to go into your bootloader and run a fastboot flash boot boot.img of the rom's boot.img that you just flashed. Not doing this step will cause much frustration.
Good luck!
after finishing you Root and S-off process go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=200234 and choose your ROM .. good luck :good:

You don't need to update anything, your hboot supports all roms.
Unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and install super user.zip

Hi,
I am a newbie still learning things.
Device Modle: HTC Wildfire S
Android Version 2.3.5
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.10-g696f19b
Biuld number 2.26.401.3 CL36..
I want to root this device. I tried many exploits but all flailed.
Finally I am going yo try recovery root. I guess ClockWorkMod recovery is a good option.
Though I read posts I am not clear enough to begin it.
Can some one please help me.
If I download and flash CWM recovery, and run roo scripts, then do I need to install rom as well?
Please help me
Thanks a lot
