[Q] Anybody having problem with UCCW weather - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi,
On my S3 i'm using UCCW who is amazing ..but while using some weather skins ...it doesnt chow any Current Temperature, weather icons etc ...
Attached a screenshot to give you guys an idea..
thx.
Edit: Using CM10 - Build September the 2nd.

I'm having the same problem. I've got an Inspire 4G running IceColdSandwich. I double checked and made sure I had weather enabled in my settings, I've rebooted, and I also cleared the cache from recovery thinking that might be the problem. No luck so far. Ideas?
EDIT: I realized I had the version of uccw off the play store... upgraded to latest version and my weather is working now.

Bottom of the original post... version 2.0.7

Did this work for you?

Hi,
i have a S III with the polish original version of Jelly Bean and i have the same problem. The UCCW version is 2.1.6. Help me!

Has anyone been able to fix this? I have the same problem on android 2.3.4 I've also tried several versions of UCCW and no luck so far. My current location is showing up correctly (set to automatic), but no weather info.

I haven't had a problem with it since my earlier post in this thread, either on ICS or JB. I'm running the latest update of UCCW from the Play Store now, not sure what version it is.
Are you allowing apps to use Google's location services? It's under settings>location services on my phone.
Also, on your widget, do you have icon only set for the weather, or text and icon? Try turning text on, if it isn't, and see what you get... I've had my weather icons go screwy before and not show up even if it was getting weather info... example, the weather text would say "rain" but there wasn't a rain icon showing.
Edit: if your location is showing then my first question is answered... sorry.

I got it working just now. I tried a few versions posted in these forums but not the latest one in google play Looks like the previous versions don't work because google killed their weather app and apparently UCCW used it. The latest version looks like it uses Yahoo weather instead.
Thanks for your suggestions anyway :good:

Had the same problem on the latest uccw from app store. Did not have to downgrade to older version. For me it was the zip extractor I was using. I was using an app called "unzip" which was not unzipping weather pngs correctly. Switched to an app called "easy unrar lite". All is good now. Hope this helps someone.?

Weather icon and temp was working..
Hello,
My weather temperature and icon was working until now. My location is displayed correctly. Re-installing the app or rebooting my phone didn't help.
Does anyone have this problem too (again..)? Any thing I can try to get it to work?
I have a htc OneX. Revolution HD 18.1
Thanks in advance!

Go in uccw settings and make sure they're enabled. Also, it could be that you need to resize to display them.

Thanks for your tip. everything is enabled. Though I have the temperature now I still don't have the icon. It did appear briefly this afternoon... but now it is gone again... don't know why..

Perhaps change the refresh timer. I'm not sure what would keep it from showing.

I had this problem once. For me, it was because there was not an appropriate icon for the current condition contained in the icon pack (even though the default one is supposed to show in this case). With the icon pack I was using, everytime the condition was mostly cloudy the icon would disappear. The only fix I found was either changing the icon pack or adding an extra icon and changing the name to appropriately match current conditions.

UCCW Weathe Problem
I was having a problem getting the CT weather to work. Then I found if you push the menu button while editing the widget and change the morning and night, time settings it started to works.

if the solution from Sidetoneusa doesn't work try the following:
according to the uccw settings is it day/night?
Depending on day/night look into the folder with the icons, if there's a matching one for the current weather condition. If not, copy and rename another weather condition thats mostly similar Or ofcourse create a new one yourself
(there should be a folder on your storage called something like "utlimatecustomclockwidget", (don't look in the uccwoutput), open it and browse to the folder with the name of the widget your using and there should be a weather folder inside, all icons are stored in there. the night icons are in a seperate folder. Note: if you edited the original widget and saved it under a different name, still go to folder with the original widgets name, the folder with the name you used to save an edited widget only has a thumbnail inside of it)
Problem is that with custom weather icons, uccw tends to not switch to default ones if one is missing ,but instead shows an empty area. (at least it does on my device)

Uccw weather not update issue solved...
I was having the same problem one my HTC ONE X. After doing some changes it worked fine and owesome update had been given by the updater..
You need to do fallowing steps.
Step 1 - Click on your UCCW app
Step 2 - Go to settings
Step 3 - Click on weather privider.... by default it is set to Open weather map..... so change it to Yahoo.. (need to select from this two option provided
NOW YOU ARE DONE
- If you want can set your location to choose manual by default it is Auto...
- Also you can change Update interval from 12 hour upto 15 minutes (I'm using 15 min)
- You can change Celsius and Degree symbol
ATTACHMENT ADDED OF OPTIONS/SETTINGS
IF MY COMMENT WAS HELPFULL HIT THANKS

For me, nothing of the above worked, it fixed itself after I downloded the Yahoo Weather App and set the weather provider to Yahoo

You will need a folder(anyname) filled with your wallpapers you want to use. After WPC install, place this wallpaper folder inside the WPC folder. It should work with any number of backgrounds, they just have to be inside a folder within the WPC folder and numbered in order starting with 1.jpg up to your chosen number. There are zip files below with some random wallpapers I put together. With option 3(Set Number), you can also set them to change in order(linear) or randomly.
To install:
1- Download and run cab file. It can be installed to main memory or storage card, wherever is convenient. If you don't already have mortscript installed, then you will need to reboot now to register extentions.
2- It won't work using default background in Settings\Display\Homescreen, so choose any other background in that option now if your still using default wm background.
3- Go to Start Menu and choose WPCoptions
4- Set wallpaper directory to use. When selecting directory, number of wallpaper is set automatically, but can be changed to a different number using option 3.
5- Set the update interval in hours, can be from 1 to ?.
6- Choose option 1, Start Wallpaper Changer
7- Thats it, first change should happen immediately and changes take about 5 seconds, but they run in background.
I've added support for FeatherWeather with this version also. If anyone wants another weather app supported, post here or pm me.
For FeatherWeather users that want weather activated wallpaper, download the Feather.zip below. Unzip and place Feather folder into WPC folder. Take the Feather.mscr and overwrite the original in FeatherWeather folder.
Thanks to roloracer for this idea, and for extended testing on his device.
Ver .2 - Initial release.

It should uninstall when you install the new one. And your options should still be saved to registry, you will just need to change number of wallpaper.

Cool, can wait to install the final version GREAT WORK.
Very Cool I'll have to check try this out!
This is great!
Been looking for something like this. I ran across one thing though, since it uses the FacadeRefresh.exe my colors that I set with AutoBaseHue were getting reset to default after every wallpaper change.
I added these two lines in the WPC.mscr:
Sleep(10000)
Run("\Windows\StartUp\ABHSetter.exe")
These were added at line 61 which is:
RunAt(timestamp()+(usertime*3600),instPath&"\WPC.mscr")
The 10 seconds gives the screen time to reload and then changes the color back to whatever it was before. This will only work if you have AutoBaseHue installed. I posted this earlier at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2969690&postcount=8
Not really a problem, but an annoyance for me, thanks for the script and the wallpapers.
Pretty cool. I want to use animated wallpapers though a la Windows Media Center and Windows Dreamscenes.

Nice find, thanks for the info, I'll post update later this week. I use a scheme file for the solid black bars, so I didn't notice that.
Here's a christmas wallpaper pack for anyone feeling festive They're already numbered 1 to 29 for use. Just copy your current wallpapers into a folder for backup before placing these in WCP folder.
Very nice. Installed a couple of hours ago and been enjoying my changing wallpaper since Gonna install the xmas pack too. Thanks show, and to all testers too.

I don't know what rom you're using, or if the autobasehue that you're talking about was added to your phone as an app, but when I was testing the WPC, I had different colors on my basehue , different .xml , different .dll files and a modified .cpr and the only thing that changes is the wallpapers, nothing else. Were you using a default background when you started it ?
Showaco: Great job on the xmas papers.
Just tried it looks great works fine so far.
P.S. I had a fun time finding the WPC folder lol but eventually found it.
Happy Festivas!
Thanks everyone for the feedback, glad to hear its working correctly. I'm adding a few new features, the main one being able to use wallpaper folders so its easy to switch to different wallpaper packs in just a few seconds. It also automatically sets the number of wallpaper when you switch to a new icon pack(although you can still manually set number). Here's a couple of screenshots showing new option and selection screen.
I'm also going to add a weather wallpaper pack that will update based on current weather/time of day. Its using FeatherWeather, but it can be also set up for NRG miniweather if someone wants to get with me and help me iron out the details for it.

ICS Digital Desk Clock as a Widget

In the stock ICS alarm settings from the stock analogue clock widget you can access a digital "desk clock" mode. If you long touch this desk clock, the screen goes black and you get a very sleek blue version.
members.iinet.net.au/~trinityjayone/ICSclock1.png
I have scoured the web and downloaded countless digital clock apps looking for something that achieves this blue digital clock in widget form. One widget came close ( market.android.com/details?id=com.eightsoft.ICSDigitalClock ), but it has a background that can't be removed and the text doesn't even fit into it properly.
Anyone know of a widget that fits the bill? Am I better off just working out how to make it myself?
Try HD Widgets. it has exactly what you want, with many digital clocks, weather and background options.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't 100% clear. I'm after a clock that looks identical to the screenshot I posted. Same font, same colour (or the options to set it up as such).
it may not be exactly the same, but i think it's the closest one available at the moment.
If you find wt you looking for please share it with us here as i also like that blue lock clock.
with minimalistic text
In the zip is a .mtpref File. (make a restore wit minimalistic text[free])
fonts: AndroidClock.ttf, Roboto-Regular.ttf
if you mean this
Indeed it is...and I did try Minimalistic Text but I have no idea how to go about inserting different fonts into it. Perhaps if you could dumb it down a notch for me?

1. Create new folder on sd card called 'fonts.' Make sure there are no subfolders within it - just the actual true type font files.
2. Pick folder 'font,' not specific sub font, in the global settings for font selection.
3. Under each text type on each widget - normal, accented, nonaccented - you must select the font, the list should populate when you do as above.
Argh so easy! Don't know how on Earth I missed the "choose fonts" folder before. Thank you kind sir!

I have no idea how to get minimalist text widget onto home screen. No long press for widgets in ICS.
Anybody know how I can get this to work? I installed the app from market but they don't appear in the widgets section...
EDIT: Seems it takes time for newly installed widget apps to populate the widget section. I see them after a while.

[ICS][SGSIII MOD] SGS 3 Touchwiz Launcher Modded for NON-OFFICIAL ICS ROMs v.1.3

Hi guys,
NOW A NEW VERSION WORKING IN JB, GO TO THREAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838707, is equivalent to 1.0 version of this thread.
I have extracted the version of TouchWiz Launcher from SGS III firmware, and made it compatible with NON-OFFICIAL ICS ROM's for our Galaxy S, I tested with Elitemovil ICS ROM version 1.2 and it works, I haven't tried with other versions.
CHANGELOG:
v1.3:
-Placed open folders so don't cover the Dock Bar.
-Now the App Menu Button can drag to any place on the Dock.
-Corrected an issue with the Number of Gmail Message, added permission for read the gmail database.
-Changed play store icon.
v1.2:
-Corrected an issue when populating folders in Applications menu in Alphabetical Grid, the last page has empty places.
-Changed appearance of the tabs, more like ICS.
-Replaced the Edit Icon in tabs for Play Store Icon.
-Removed the play store entry of the options menu.
-Changed the width of the open folder like ICS, the width is adjusted to the number of elements.
-Changed the position of the title in Folders, now is at bottom of the folder and centered.
-Corrected and issue with the edition of the folder name in Home Screen, when press the back button, text was empty.
-Now, the folder may be created like ICS, if you drag over an App Icon another one, then the folder is created, this only works in Home Screen, in Apps Menu Screen the creation remains the same.
-In Dock bar, you can create folders too, you must drag desktop icons over dock icons and vice versa to create folders, if you drag Dock icons over Dock icons, you swap places.
-When the folder has only one app icon then the folder is replaced with that App icon, like ICS.
-Adjust the size and capitalization of fonts in the App Menu title bars, (Tabs, Edit Mode, Downloaded Apps, Share Apps, Hide Apps)
-Removed the entry to create folders in Home Screen, from Home Eidt Mode Menu and Add Menu, to create folders use the method described above.
-Changed the Widget Search Bar to place the magnifying glass icon inside the box.
-Changed the Title of App Icons in Home Screen and Home Folders to display it in only one line and with ellipsis if the text is cut because there's no gap.
v1.1:
-Corrected and FC when creating a Folder in the Apps Menu, with more than two Apps.
-Corrected the thumbnails of app icons in folder icon, to take a separation between them.
-Added the Add Menu item in Home Screen Menu.
-Added Wallpaper Menu item in Home Screen Menu.
-Removed Add Folder Menu item in Home Screen Menu, now you can add a folder through Add Menu item.
v1.02:
-Activated wallpaper scrolling
v1.01:
-Modified App Menu so the title Apps it's not cut by the edge of the screen.
-Modified text size of the tabs Menu and Widgets and the size of the up bar when in Download, Shared and Hide Apps, now the line doesn't wrap when the number of selected apps and the text after it is greater than the space it has, this maybe doesn't occurs in English but in other languages it is.
v1.0:
-Works the folder creation, no FC.
-The functions of Samsung to set the Wallpaper are eliminated.
-In the Wallpapers Menu Selector, the textes are visible.
-The movement of icons with the move of the phone in SGS2 and SGS3 are removed because incompatibility with SGS.
-The number of unread sms-mms, gmails and missed calls is show over the corresponding Apps, Messages, Phone and Gmail respectively.
NEXT STEPS:
-Try, because is more complex, to put the Apps Options Bar of the Home Screen Up in the screen, so the dock bar can be visible to allow edition of the Dock dragging directly App Icons from Apps Menu. In this moment, you must put the App Icon in the desktop and drag from there to the Dock, so if you have no place you must create a folder over a previous App Icon and drag from there over the Dock. This reduces the number of steps.
Thanks.
Thank you very much for all your work.
If even a port from their powerhouse, witch is supposed not to be limited to anything by hardware, works on SGS (granted, with changes only to make basic things to work but without trimming anything down), I guess we can finally say it's been proven samsung's statement of TW being "too much" for SGS therefore not releasing ICS for this phone to be totally a lie (as almost everyone suspected).
ICS is here, it runs great and i guess it even runs with TW so... yea samsung, people don't really like to be lied to, tends to be bad for business.
That said, i realize this was offtopic. i apologize and i'll stop.
I didn't really like touchwiz's lack of performance, other than that i had no problems with it. Def going to try this!
Is it a 480*800 version or it's like the other porting(720*1280)?
Inviato dal mio GT-I9000 con Tapatalk 2
Hi, It must be 480x800, I don't make any change for this and in Elitemovil R1.2 ICS ROM it's working well, with this resolution, so... Try it and tell me.
Thanks
Doesn't work (doesn't show up with other launchers in home selection).
The original one works (although only correctly sized at 210dpi), but this one doesn't show up.
It would be awesome if we could get this to work on standard 480*800 240 dpi!
EDIT: this is on ICSSGS - maybe i need to redownload?..

It's possible it doesn't work with this ROM ICSSGS, I only test it with Elitemovil R1.2, or may be the zip is corrupted, but don't think so.
To make it work it's hard, because I need to install this ROM in my phone and try to correct the issues, I'm happy with Elitemovil ROM and it's hard to change to another version, maybe I try it but is not secure.
great share!

Works fine here (except of the 182 dpi biased layout). Did you set the right permissions, lib file, rebooted, changed the default launcher et cetera?
Working very good on cm9. Just flashed package without any wipes.
here I have have removed the apk signiture. Its should work now i hope because before i removed it my phone cant detect the launcher but after i removed it works(Doc's master ICS rom)...
my opinion the apps and widget button in the drawer is too big.maybe because its from xhdpi phone
Can you port sgs3 widgets too? Specially accuweather clock. Thanks for a 240 dpi version.

Works good on ICS333. Many thanks.
Any idea how to make SGS3 widgets work? Like weather widget.

[APP] Lockscreen Policy - Disable Android 4.2+ Lockscreen Widgets, Camera

(Attached v1.2.2, v1.2.3)
This gets rid of the lockscreen widgets and camera on the homescreen on Android 4.2 or higher.
If you have root, you can disable the bold-hour clock widget from the action bar menu, under 'Clock Hack'. (since 1.2)
The app is completely free. I don't foresee adding anything much to this app (I could add a couple of toggle widgets).
This is a lightweight app at 80KB.
There's a known issue under 4.2.2:
With the clock hack disabled, the clock widget toggles between the bold hour clock and the non-bold hour clock every other unlock. If your device is rooted, you can use the clock hack to get the device to consistently display the non-bold hour clock. Otherwise, there isn't anything I can do for you immediately. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I had no control over this.
Disable widgets and/or camera access on the lockscreen under Android 4.2.
Usage:
1) Run application
2) Make selections, and press activate
3) In the 'Activate device administrator' screen, choose 'Activate'
4) Verify settings, and press 'Apply'
5) To change settings, either press the 'Reset' button or hit the back key from the app to return to the setup screen
Uninstall:
To uninstall, uncheck the application from the 'Device Administrator' list under 'Security' in 'Settings'.
Privacy:
I do not collect any personal information with this completely free application.
No permissions other than device administrator required.

Thanks! The flashing widget placeholder on the lockscreen was annoying as hell.
This app succeeds where stock Android has failed. :good:
Thank goodness...
The lockscreen was seriously driving me nuts. I hated seeing that widget box every time I turned it on. Thank you for providing a way to turn it off. I just wish Google had made it optional in the first place.
Now, if you could just help me change that ugly, ugly clock font. :good:
It might be possible to change the default clock as more devs support lockscreen widgets, because I think it's just a widget there...
Looks good I am going to have to try this out.

Installing. The lockscreen changes haven't impressed me much.
works on Nexus 7
THANK YOU!
installing NOW.
I'll test it for you on Nexus S, send me the apk via PM or open it on Google Play.
Thanks for the report for the Nexus 7. I checked out some videos and realized that tablets don't have a camera swipe gesture on the lockscreen. Checking the 'camera' option doesn't really hurt anything though, at least as of the currently available Android API.
Functionally the app is not going to change much. The icon is hideous, but I know it's annoying to have to update for something minor like that, so that's not coming until there's a good idea for something that needs to be in the app.

It doesn't do anything for devices not running Android 4.2. If your device runs Android 4.2 already, you will see it in the Play Store.

Alright, when I flash back 4.2 I'll see if I can download from Play, thanks.
APK Download?
Hey, could you please share the APK?
I can't download it on Play Store because my Galaxy Nexus on 4.2 seems to be incompatible...
Allow Clock Replacement Widget?
Thanks for getting this app up so quickly!
I know you're probably not going to add much to it, but I have one request. Is it possible to make it work with clock replacement widgets like the "Fixed 4.2 Clock Widget" (can't link to it in the Play Store because I haven't posted 10 times yet).
That widget fixes the weird bolded-hour clock thing Google decided to do for 4.2, but I can't use it if I disable widgets with your app. If there was a way to disable the addition of new widgets (swiping to the left) but still allow a replacement widget on the primary lock screen, that would be perfect.
Would it be possible to disable Google Now? I'd really appreciate that ability. How did Google screw the lock screen so bad?!
Not sure how the clock widget can be changed.
Also noticed that if a music player has lockscreen widgets, they show up on a new page...
You can disable system apps in Android 4.2. If you disable Google Search in Applications, you lose the swipe up gesture from the soft buttons, but the lockscreen will still show a weird looking dot where Google Now is activated.

Was just thinking the exact same thing. You're right, if this could be done it would be absolutely perfect. :good:
Why oh why do we have to look at that awful clock font? If only there was a way to remove it completely. And why did they decide to have that place holder flash up on the left every single time I unlock? I know I can add a widget, there's no need to remind me every single time I unlock!
I don't think I see a good way of changing the default widget unless you replace the system clock app.

Weather/Location Not Updating

Hey guys, hoping to find a simple solution here. I did a reset on my Note 4 a few days ago and now I'm having problems with Zooper Pro. I add a widget that is supposed to display local weather info, but all I'm getting is "Unknown" and question marks where the weather conditions and temp should be displayed. I've added my location in Zooper settings. Location services are turned on on my phone.
Phone: Galaxy Note 4 (AT&T)
OS: Android 6.0.1
Root: No
Launcher: Nova Prime 5.3
I've tried using several different widgets from different devs to make sure the problem wasn't isolated, but it's happening no matter what I use. However, the stock clock/weather widgets are updating just fine, so I don't think it's a phone issue, but something with Zooper.
I've done probably 3 or 4 resets of my phone over the 2+ years I've had it and never come across this problem, but I guess it's possible that there's a very simple step that I'm forgetting about. Any input is appreciated.
(I tried adding a few screenshots but I guess I'm not able to add external links until I've posted 10x. I'll post a few more times and add them. )

Same as this guy!
Been like this for a while, Doesn't appear to be anything that corrects it. Is the developer still supporting this widget?

Just change the weather provider to Yr.no in global preferences and click on force update. This worked for me, hope this will work for you too.
I have recently noticed that when I set location in Zooper widget, only Yr.no works now for weather information. It's not often I choose a widget with weather info and location but today I did. Before I used to use Open Weather map and the weather used to show up fine for the given location. Now it only shows "Unknown" and "??". The same applies for Yahoo!
I'm guessing it's because I'm using a newer phone than previously and it's not supported. Plus the fact that Zooper isn't get updated by the developers.
Same issue here. Google fit Widget not updating using Nova Launcher on a Galaxy S8.
same problem here. Open Weather doesn't work. Yahoo doesn't work. Yar.no is next to useless. It was showing Tornado at about 2C in Finland.
Seriously? Tornadoes in Finland?
It looks like Developer is not updating this app anymore. Last time, both normal and pro versions were updated in 2015.
On my Note8 the Weather icon is not showing it’s just blank and where the temperature should be there are question signs :-

Hi to anyone that's reading this. I appreciate this is an old thread and the developer has drpped this but has anyone found an answer to getting the weather to provide my locality and current conditions? I can select my weather app easily enough but the clock widget I've made gave me much more a while ago. Thanks

Mine stopped working too no matter the weather provider or a force update works. I have a feeling it's time to move to a new product. Anyone have any suggestions?

I actually like KWGT. Not that difficult to learn. It's the same concept as Zooper just layed out differently.

Can someone restore the weather and the location of Yahoo? Requests were sent to these addresses:
X://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select * from geo.placefinder where text="%s,%s" and gflags="R"
X://where.yahooapis.com/geocode?q=%s,%s
X://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=%s&u=f&d=10
Yahoo changed the API, I expect that in addition to new addresses, you need to change the program code
