I have an Xperia Play (r800i, 2.3.4) which I unlocked the bootloader of, I wanted to try the Gin2JellyBean Rom, so I flashed the DoomKernel v03 onto the phone, booted into Clockworkmod Recovery, flashed "RootXperia.zip" and then flashed the Gin2JellyBean ROM, everything going good, I reboot into system and I see the doomkernel booting screen, it gets to the Gin2JellyBean boot animation, then the screen goes black, and then back to the DoomKernel screen, to Gin2JellyBean, etc etc.
I tried to flash the stock firmware onto it using FlashTool, but it doesn't give me the option to Wipe the data(?) it just shows the tft file I have, (.42) and that's it, Any help? I THINK it's a SoftBrick but I'm not sure, I'm pretty nooby to this stuff, if you can help I will be very grateful, thanks
First of all - it's kernEL.
Second - you have a bootloop. And you don't have to wipe data when flashing ftf file - just go to recovery and select "Factory reset". Then POWER OFF the device (don't boot it!) and flash the ftf file. This should help.

You've flashed the wrong kernel. You need the Gingerbread version of Doom's kernel for it to work, as Gin2JellyBean is Gingerbread.
It's because you flashed the wrong kernel. You flashed an ICS kernel instesd of GB kernel. Gin2JellyBean is just a JB-themed Gingerbread. Go flash Doomkernel v14 and it will be okay.

Thanks for the help guys, really means a lot, I ended up flashing an ICS Rom instead x) phone looks great and runs smooth as hell, will come back here if I have any problems c:

hello all!
i am trying out new roms on my xperia arc. its rooted, bootloader unlocked. i successfully tried cm7. anyway, now i am switching to xperia mod. i have the latest doom kernel, i flash the rom, restart from cwm and then the device is simply stuck at bootscreen [where is android wearing assassin clothes ] factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, all done. i dont know where i am lagging! facing same issue in arconium too! the original one, stock rom, works perfect!
Flash correct Kernel.
Than wipe all another time.
Get boot.img in .zip file, extract, and flash it from flashboot.

sorry mate, i am not getting this exactly what you mean. please be little more clear?
also i already tried reflashing the kernel through
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
after installing the rom and facing the issue. still no way!
1-You have tried to flash a kernel wich not supports stock .62 rom based, in this case you have to take the correct kernel (ex. doomkernel v18 for stock) and flash it by fastboot.
Doomkernel for CM7 is different from Doomkernel for stock.
If you were on doomkernel for CM7 with CM7 rom previously, now you have to switch on doomkernel for stock to install and make functional a stock based rom like Xperia Mod
OR
2-You are on the correct Doomkernel but you have to install the 1,6Ghz version for the devices that have boot issue with 2 Ghz version (as my phone), look at the Doomkernel's thread.

Thankyou very much for your reply.
1. I have the latest doomkernel v18 only. and yeah, the one for stock rom! i am running the stock rom on it.
2. I havent tried this. i am using 2ghz one. will give a shot to 1,6ghz one. but xperia mod or arconium is giving the same bootloop on stock kernel too!
Also my current stock rom is .48 build. does this has something to do with any of this?
Flash the boot.img file which you will get in the ROM original Zip file.
Usually DoomKernel works with all but its buggy with a *Few* Roms.....
So try flashing the kernel provided in the zip

There is no rom provided in the zip. Its written on its description page that it works best with doom kernel!

Flash with this doomkernel = http://doomlord.sylvester20007.com/xperia_2011/miui/arc_arcs/dk-v02-high/boot.img
@all, thank you all for support! i retried with 1,6ghz doomlord kernel. very first try this didnt work. i tried again, this time, before and after flashing of rom, i cleared cache, wiped data, factory reset and dalvik cache too! and whoa! worked! i am loving it all! thank you all for replies!
Hey guys i'm trying to run this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278758
and this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380713
on my Arc, i rooted with zergRUSH on .42, installed auto cwm installer, flashed a working DoomKernel V4 (works with other roms).
I tested both the above roms on DoomKernel, doing all the wiping first (system, cache, davlik etc.)
My basbeand is .56 which hasen't seemed to be a problem with anything else.
The problem is after rebooting from cwm recovery after flashing the roms, my phone gets into a boot loop, showing the DoomKernel image, than rom logo, then reboot again, and so on, just wondering what i might be doing wrong
Thanks in advanced.
(also, 1 more thing, I'm new to the forums, so can someone give me some idea of where the GOD DAMN thanks button is)
You are trying the ICS kernel with GB rom.
Thats not possible.
Flash/Fastboot ics kernel to ics rom
And gb kernel to gb rom
From my sexy LT15i
Thanks
Hey man thanks, i flashed my device back to stock .42 with wotanclient, so i got my stock kernel back, reflashed cwm recovery, and then managed to get the 1st rom working on the stock kernel.
However, i can't seem to get wifi working on the 1st rom, and it has somehow removed my cwm recovery.
Gonna reflash stock .42 so i can test the second rom.
(also, i found the thanks button)
For wifi you need to flash the wifi modules
From my sexy LT15i
Still no wifi
Hey mate thanks for the suggestion, i managed to get both roms working on the stock kernel with no add-ons, however as with the first one, i can't get any wifi on the second one,
I had a look at both the rom threads, neither of which provide and kind of wifi module to speak of, and the only module i can find is with DoomKernel, which causes neither of the roms to work.
On both roms, when i try to turn on the wifi all i get is this
Wi-Fi
Error
Thanks in advanced
Witch rom and doom did you use.
The doomkernel v.20 is for gingerbeard roms (android 2)
The doomkernel v.4 is for icecreamsandwich roms (android 4)
Try the wifi module from doom anyway, ir try to contact dev.

I have an Arc S with DoomKernel
I just flashed the .70 baseband and then Arconium ICS update zip. Now when I boot it shows the DoomKernel logo but then the screen goes blank (backlight is still of, just a black screen) and nothing further happens.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Did you wip cache/factory reset and dalvik cache? And did you flash the right kernel? Doomlords kernel for ics?
Sent from my Arc S using XDA
I had almost the same problem yesterday.
First time i did it,i flashed the baseband 70,then stock kernel and finally arconium.
but then when i open the phone, the bb is missing.
Then i tried flashing the bb again, this time, the phone wont even boot..
After that i tried flashing the nordic 568+wipe user data, baseband 70,stock kernel and it booted. =)
Fixed (kinda)
I tried reflashing both the kernel and the ROM a number of times with different options on Arconium but that didn't help. I flashed Arc-Knight Kernel and then flashed arconium again and this booted fine. It seems to have been a problem between DoomKernel and Arconium.
Hello guys.
I was using Xperia Ultimate HD ROM and ArcKnight kernel along with Xperia Z launcher.
Yesterday, I flashed the Xperia ultimate HD Mod.
However, the phone went into a boot loop. (Keeps rebooting by itself.)
The developer of the mod advised me to flash Advanced Stock Kernel on my phone, then flash Ultimate HD ROM again without using the Xperia Z Launcher.
I have managed to flash the kernel using Flashtool but not the ROM as I cannot go into recovery mode. (I usually rely on ROM Manager to help me with that)
I followed all instructions before installing the Mod. (Clear cache, clear Dalvik)
My phone was working fine before I installed it.
I would be very thankful for any advice you can give me as to how to fix my phone.
Thanks!
Also, I cannot repair the phone using Sony Bridge for Mac because I'm using modded software.

Hello again guys, I installed LuPuS v8 JB Kernel on my phone (I had 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced Firmware (Gingerbread) installed) then I went to CWM to flash the .zip with the wifi modules and G.Apps but when I rebooted I got a bootloop. what I have to do to correctly install it? Please guide me since I'm kinda newbie to this of unlocked bootloaders and kernels :/ (I'm trying to install PACman rom and followed the FAQ guide but...)
EDIT: Forgot to add, my PLAY is an r800a(i) GSM btw, I have to take off the SDcard to enter to the Kernel menu, idk if this is normal

After you flash the Rom reboot the phone and just let it fully boot. After that you can go back to CWM and flash the WiFi modules and other add-ons
You need to boot into the kernel's recovery and set it to jb mode or ics depending on your rom. Then make sure your rom and gapps don't exceed the system partition size, which it most likely did if you flashed the full gapps package as well.
The default recovery for the lupus jb kernel is TWRP, if you load into another CWM recovery it most likely did not flash to the correct partition arrangement that lupus kernel use therefore the rom can't boot.

Sounds like you didn't wipe data
So go into cwm and wipe cache, data, delvick and try rebooting then

These are the steps I did
1.- Flash the 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced (2.3.4 firmware)
2.- Flash the LuPuSv8 JB Kernel via flashtools
3.- Take out the SDcard (I can't access to kernel menu without taking it out)
4.- Access Kernel menu then go into recovery mode
5.- Wipe data/cache/davlik
6.- Flash p.a.c.man jb
7.- Reboot
And then it bootloops and stays like that (i left it alone and it stayed like that for about 20 or 30 minutes)
I also wiped data/cache and davlik after flashing the rom, but got the same results, maybe I need a vendor unlocked firmware like in Turbo Kernel? I will try that...
Edit: Flashed the vendor unlocked firmware then wiped cache and data then installed the PACman rom but got bootloop again, maybe I should try with another kernel...

Do as above but after step 5 you need to go to mounts & storage and format Data/Cache & System (IMPORTANT DO NOT FORMAT ANYTHING ELSE):good:
Then flash p.a.c.man JB

I flashed the FTF with unlocked partitions played with the phone for about 30 secs, then flashed kernel, went to kernel menu then formated system, data, cache and davlik via CWM then flashed the rom, but that ended in bootloop, did the same with turbo kernel and it worked.
