Well, I foolishly flashed the stock rooted FH13 without flashing an agat kernel and i'm now stuck with the custom recovery which will not permit me to update from the internal sdcard. What is the best route to fixing this problem, so I have access to a custom recovery again?
Thanks.

Use a One Click kernel install from the kernel repository or just Odin a kernel tar that you choose. I am using Agat's 0.5.4 source built kernel in the original dev section.

If I'm on EK02, can I just flash a ROM that is EL26 or do I need to find radios and what not? Basically I am stock rooted (all I've done is rooted) and I have EK02. Can I just d-load and flash the TNz Blended ROM that is EL26 without doing anything else 1st.?? thanks
You're gonna need CWM (ClockworkMod) installed in order to flash ROM's. Easiest way is using sfhub's script to install CWM, how to do that here.
I just took a look at the TNz Blend, and it includes a kernel along with it, so once you have CWM, all you have to do is install that as per instructions and you'll be good to go. You can basically use any radio/Modem you want.... I'm running a EL29 based ROM, Rouge Kernel (TNz comes with the Rouge Kernel), and the EK02 modem, and it works just fine.
So install CWM recovery, then you can follow this how to video to install TNz, and you should be all set.

Ok, I already installed CWM when I rooted. I was just confused since it seems like EK02 can refer to the kernel, the modem and the latest update of android from Samsung... So when I flash TNz I'll end up with EL26 ROM, the Rouge kernel and still have the EK02 modem?... I'm fixing to jump in.. oh, and thanks for the link in your sig.. I rooted and installed CWM with his vids

You are correct, whichever rom you choose will come with a kernel (most recent being el29). The modem is flashed separately. If you don't have any reception issues, you don't really have to change your modem

You're welcome, glad people are finding his channel, his videos make things very easy.
I updated to 4.0.4 last weekend with the leak. I now want to flash GummyNex to my Nexus. Must I flash back to 4.0.2 before I load GummyNex or any other custom ROM? Or can I just flash the custom ROM on top of the 4.0.4 update?
No just wipe data, dalvik, cache and flash the ROM you want to flash with gapps (if required) and kernel (if you desire to)
Thanks! I appreciate it. I've never flashed a custom ROM...just the unofficial OTA's. The kernel is a totally separate file correct?

Yes, you can flash kernel after flashing the custom rom, but keep in mind that some kernels only work for a specified build.

Yes kernel is a separate file. Some ROMs will include a kernel with their ROM (mostly stock kernel but it could be different).
So if you flash a ROM (or a update), flash the kernel update again because flashing the ROM zip will override your kernel.
Press the thanks button if I helped, thanks
Where is it? I can't find a .zip file for the true stock not repacked??? frusutrating me lol defiantly need .zip not .tar
You need to install it first and use auto root package to remove the root access. Then it purely becomes the 'Stock'.

Hey everyone,
About 4 months ago when I got my new Epic 4g touch I rooted the phone with autoroot and installed calkulins rom which I now have at version 2.6. I am also using an ICS theme. What do I now have to do in order to get the newest modem and custom ICS roms installed on my phone? Since autoroot is no longer functional I have heard that I will have to install the stock rom and modem on my phone and then use odin to install new modems.... Is this the case? Does anyone have links to stock roms and modems I should use before I proceed into using Odin?
Thanks!

You have few options:
1. If you want latest stock rooted rom just flash sfhubs one click FF18 rooted rom from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
2. If you want any of the custom TW (stock based) roms read thru threads, see which one you like most download the rom and copy to your sd card.
Boot to recovery. Wipe/factory reset (you're on GB rom and you're not risking to brick your phone) and apply zip in recovery.
Rom will flash kernel as well and you will have rooted ICS rom on your phone.
Download CWM modem zip file from sfhub's thread and flash it in recovery as well.
3. If you want AOSP/AOKP/CM rom just read the installation instructions in OP and follow them.
If you have more questions, ask....
Thanks!!
So sprint plugged the autoroot feature but I am still able to download any ICS rom on my current setup (after full wipe) and install through my CWM and it will work? I am on the EK02 modem, I am able to upgrade to ICS modems without using Odin?
if you have custom recovery you can flash CWM modem zip from sfhubs tread in recovery.
If you don't have custom recovery use sfhubs autoroot package to flash EK02 kernel with CWM recovery and than flash rom and modem in recovery.
Sprint din't include anything for us. It's all done by a great developer sfhub.
With Sasmung devices and their ODIN support, you aren't really required to have root to flash anything. In other devices(HTC), you need to have a exploit to root them so that you have Read/write access to certain partitions that you wouldn't normally, thus allowing you to flash.
Hey guys, I tried to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591279
Which seemed to work as phone was working 100% and was booting up faster
But if I rebooted no blue light would come one and I couldn't go into cwm
So then I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793
which wouldn't even boot at all
I'm runny stock 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) with various mods but nothing that should affect kernel
and yes my bootloader is unlocked
thanks
Hi Mate,
If you want to use the stock kernel you could flash the stock kernel using flashtool, root it, then run this program:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5wdnkuQ1dNaW5zdGFsZXIiXQ..
On the other hand, you could just flash a custom kernel like ArcNight or infamous
