Hi,
I have ie8i from a long time, I mean I am using since I bought Galaxy S1 from Sprint.
Right now, with Galaxy S3, only the pause button works. You cannot increase or decrease the volume and also you cannot answer the calls.
I want to place a bounty so that some one can come up with an app or something to make them work perfectly.
Regards
Sai
Oh well quality pair of headphones not make or break for me.
The app sounds like a good idea can it be done?
Oh and does the Mic work ?
Thanks for the help!

Hey everyone, I looked around and didn't see anyone asking about this. Basically I am just needing to know if I need to do a warranty exchange or if the phone is working as designed.
I am coming from a Atrix, and it had the best speaker of any phone over ever had. Now I have the Galaxy nexus and it is very hard for me to hear the phone ring at all, or if I am watching a movie in a room with no noise it, it is hard to hear...
Is this normal? Anyone able to compare it to the Atrix?
Thanks

You didn't look very hard. It's a known issue. Try volume+ from the market.
Also custom kernels with a volume fix.

well worth the money! just purchased it have the volume on +8 and its now usable in a busy situation!
It's just you. Because if some effort had been put into search instead of another me too thread you'd be using volume+ or equalizer app already.

Is anyone know how to make the volume buttons work on Android cellphone?? (I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T version)
If it was designed for apple then it probably won't work.

Awwww damn it! Why only for Apple!! anyway thanks for the reply, and hopefully there will be some program to make it works later
Apple makes their own standard for headphone controls when there is already a standard utilized by every other phone in existence.

I remember reading a thread explaining how to change some of the button mapping for android (may involve a text editor if you're familiar with them).
That may be what you're interested in. Of course try the app mentioned above too.
Is there anyway to get louder bluetooth volume on a phone call and better quality.. I had the sammy victory 4g and volume was crazy loud and quality of sound was amazing for a cheap low end phone

havent really noticed any issues on my lg tones, jambox or my bt head unit....what are you connecting to?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I am using a blue parrot headset.
I'm using a Plantronics Voyager Legend and the volume does seem a little low even at maximum. It can be a bit staticy sometimes as well. Neither issue is so bad as to be annoying though. I had thought that the issue was with the Plantronics, but I suppose it's just as likely that the problem is with the Note. I haven't searched for a solution yet.

I have tried my headset with my wifes gs3 and my old phone photon and it is crazy louder with those phones, then I connect if back to my note2 and the voice prompt and commands are loud but when on a phone call isnt nearly as loud....

Silly question...but did you turn it up? I think there is a setting that adjusts in call volume to a lower level by default
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I've seen the same thing. Its a software thing because on Jellybomb 5.1 the volume us definitely louder but still not loud enough. My same BT headset was much louder on my Evo and is much louder on my WP7.

Ya I just wish I was smart enough to figure it out I have tried multiple Bluetooth headsets and all them get quiet when you start taking but use thm on other phones and are louder
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Any super smart developer that can figure this out there has to tweaks somewhere to increase the max volume
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I would Definitely say its a problem with the note. The volume is way low on a call. I use a Moto hx550 and my GS3 worked great with it.
I have been following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931970
and tried the tweaks by editing manually, but it didnt help bluetooth volume. So I'm either not tweking the right volume values or there will have to be another solution found. Its frustrating, but hopefully something will come out of one of these threads...
I have an issue with my Note 2 Bluetooth quality as well. Using Motorola Elite Silver. Seems to be perfectly fine with playing music and as soon as I initiate a call the quality degrades their voice breaks up as well as mine. Works fine with other devices, currently have tried on a couple different ones in the Sprint store I work at.

What rom/kernel are you running? If its a tw rom with a compatible kernel you could try STweaks.
It has an option to increase standard volume limits.

Hmmm, its got to be rom related then. If your headset works fine on a different phone, then thats all thats left. There is one last option for you
I use a jawbone icon I got fron ebay.
What really made the difference for me...jabra ear gels. They look crazy! But they hold inside the ear without a hook. An it tunnels the sound dramatically. $6 for a full set left and right.
Honestly bud, this made night and day difference! Sadly their not available in any store anymore. But online everywhere!
If sound is this much an issue for you. I would say the $6 is worth a try.

There should really be a VLC-like setting on all ROMs that allows you to go above 100% on bluetooth volume if you choose to.
I got my galaxy note II today and im so happy! Way better then my galaxy s III.
okay I just have 1 little problem. Whenever I put my sound volume max like listening to a song on youtube or if im talking to someone on the phone using speakers. It sounds like its going to break. does anyone have that problem?
I do.. its especially bad when hooked up to my fm transmitter. Im sure its just software related though.

A speaker cracking is in no way software related. It is related to the horrible quality of the speaker.

I don't have that issue...I would take it back for an exchange. Sounds like a defective speaker.

Its the audio chip within the Note 2. ALL Note 2s do this so replacing it wont do much. Look it up for yourself. Its most noticeable at max volumes even with earphones in.
Mine is perfect idk what you guys are talking about ?!

Ditto
Mine sound fine to me over speaker or headphones.
Mine sounds so bad. I've never hear a speaker on a phone that sounds this bad but I traded my Nexus 4 for this Note 2 and the speaker isnt a "huge" deal to me. I wounder if i replace it how long it will last until it blows again... Anyone know if the speaker is under warranty?
