The fact that the new kindle fire runs on ICS means we will probably see a new app for the amazon video streaming. This should be compatible with our tablets! So excited

Eh.. Mayyyyyyyybe.
Could be built into the Fire (more than just an APK), could be completely locked down to Fire models, could be a lot of things... Dont get excited yet.
Netflix runs same as love film with same movies etc so should make a difference in the uk

No. The only way to do that would be to load the Kindle app from the stock ROM, which you can't do yet because of the launcher dependancies.
OK is there anyway I can get the launcher so the stock kindle app will work

We've been trying to get it work. The problem is that it loads for like 2 seconds, but then starts looking for everything that's inside the code. I got it to sit there for 10 more seconds before it crashed on ICS after pushing another file, but they have specific framework stuff inside the stock ROM that's needed.
Has anybody got the launcher to fully load

if you find something I posted helpful please thank me
The reason I want the apk when it's free in the store is that I have a kindle fire, and the version in the play store for kindle fire doesn't play live tv and the one for nexus 7 does. Thanks

If you have problems with the apk, you could easily change the build.prop to a Nexus 7

I'm new to my Nexus 7 and new to XBMC.
How do you have XBMC set up? What are you using it for? Are you using it to stream from your desktop? Do you use it to watch movies stored locally on your Nexus? Music?
What are the must-have add-ons?
Thanks!
All of the above
Using mainly for streaming with navix add-on.

I use it like a media player to play movies which have been downloaded. It seems to be able to handle any format or codec easily. It also does tons of other things which I haven't got into yet.
Hope this helps.
I would recommend VLC over that.
I don't use it on my Nexus 7 but xbmc is used on my htpc. I stream everything (shows) through my htpc and I also have a server running 24/7 for my personal movie and music collection. I do run subsonic off of this server as well and my Nexus 7 streams from subsonic.
Check out ice films too! Navi-x and ice films is where it's at

It's this like TVersity?
Swyped on Nexus 7
There was a thread about this in the general section, but I can't find it now and its probably better suited here.
So has anyone been able to get it to play videos?
I sideloaded the app and it loads up fine, but when you click a movie it closes.

Yeah I'm aware of playing it with flash, but having the stand alone app would be a better option.

Amazon wouldn't let another 7" Android tablet cut into their Kindle sales ;P
I realize that, but this is android so there is generally always a work around.

I think there have been some changes in the way Android handles video playback. I side loaded MX Player and it doesn't support 4.3, HBO Go never loads

Yes, I know how to get it to work with flash in the browser. I am specifically looking for it to work using the app.

Oh....sorry my bad....
Is it better to sell with cm11 or go back to stock?

I'd put in a message saying to ask which you would prefer to be set to you in a message if you buy it, assuming you're selling it online. I mean android os is much better than amazon's os, but then again they might want stock.
