Holy batwings, it looks like my area will actually be covered; although I'll believe it when I see it. lol
Haha, LTE in my little rural western PA, that gets me pretty psyched.

Saw this and cussed a little. Central VA ignored again. Knew WiMax wan'tt happening but figured with several Universities and Government installations around maybe LTE would make it here.
Thanks Sprint.
but you'll get roaming lte. better than nothing i suppose.
Niiiice. All of Maryland is covered.
Now I just need that blasted Galaxy Nexus...
why the gnex... give sprint like 2 months and get the one x seriously the gnex is so far behind even compaired to our phones.
sweet my area is in there....looks like my contract will be up next year so plenty of time to get an lte phone

Clearwire was never dropped. You might be mistaken with Lightsquare.. Sprint always planed on building its own LTE network. Clearwire and Lightsquare are just extra support.

They should.
I'm really surprised that it isn't a much larger area considering that Network Vision was supposed to bring LTE to every tower on Sprint's network and their network coverage was supposed to expand pretty significantly with the Network Vision project.
We'll see.
Am I missing something? Do they consolidate areas in some weird arrangement? The state lines are really f'd up can somebody explain this to me?
Based on this though I'm good since I live in Kansas, specifically Overland Park

Sprint has roaming agreements with the major carriers VZW etc but they don't allow roaming 3g but on certain prl ....so that is why people hack PRls to allow 3g like the 11115 corporate prl allows 3g in certain areas .... But most roaming on VZW is 1x

I'm at the Austin, TX ACL music festival, and and Sprint is worthless! Sure I have signal.... But I can't text, and can't make calls, and the internet does NOT work on 3g or 4g LTE. My friends have a mix of Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile... They have no problems with anything... Except for the AT&T... They have intermittent problems....
When you walk around and look around, everyone BUT Sprint brought in temporary towers to provide service for the festival. Sprint has a nearby tower that gives me 3-5 bars, and but it's FAR overloaded. There are 75k people here today, give or take...
All I'm saying Sprint, is would it kill you to bring in a temporary tower or 2 for the 3 day music festival of 100k people or so...?
Ok...... Sorry for my rant..... I'm getting fed up with nothing working...

At the big golf tournaments here in Florida or at any Football stadium, the towers are always oversaturated. In some markets, AT&T provide Sprint's backhaul so it's possible those were related.
I have nothing against sprint. I love them and have had them ever since the early 90's. I just think they could have been a bit more proactive..... Like there competitors were...

Wait... so you are on XDA and on the SG3 with Sprint and you didn't think to change your PRL to a Verizon PRL to get signal and 3G? You deserve to have the issues you have cause you had every opportunity to address the problem before hand and during the festival.
This is a big FAIL!!!

I just wanted to make a funny joke, not being insulting. I will note that at a recent major sporting event in an LTE market I was getting 1mbps down on my GS2 on 3g (unfortunately was there a week before I got my GS3). Others in my group on other carriers were getting the typical sporting event zilch. I am hoping this is a sign of things to come.

Sounds like its your device. You wrote "My friends have a mix of Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile... They have no problems with anything... Except for the AT&T... They have intermittent problems"
So your friends with Sprint didnt have problem. But yet you did.. So seems to be your device and not Sprint.
Unless you meant to say your friends with Sprint ALSO had problems.. in which case the network operated normally. It was a festival with over loading. It happens.

Indeed but i'm just going change my prl around for it. And I will be moving midwest soon
I do a lot of roaming on US Cellular with a prl that gives 3G always with great results. Sadly looks as if this deal doesn't include Oklahoma. Sprint really needs some work round here. :/
What prl are you running if you don't mind me asking you?

Question when you are roaming aint theres a limit of data that you cant exceed if not sprint will terminate your contract? This article says its only Chicago, central Illinois and St. Louis markets, along with those in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio http://articles.chicagotribune.com/..._1_subscriber-base-chicago-area-sprint-nextel These are mostly areas USCC already has 4G LTE coverage. If you cant build it then buy it I suppose

These are areas which USCC has NO 4g lte coverage because they lack the spectrum to do so or it's just not profitable. Not to mention these are also markets where sprint severely needs additional spectrum... the perfect storm i suppose.

coming from uscc customer service.. its only in the chicago/st louis markets.. its only an agreement and still needs approval from the fcc.. not to mention its not about lte on uscc side.. its about the saturation rates in those areas.. uscc is losing money in those areas to other carriers.. why keep it running if it costs more money then whats being made? and to the person using prl 11115.. thats a verizon prl buddy not uscc..

PRL 11115 is not a Verizon PRL, it is a Sprint Corporate PRL which allows for 3G roaming.

Really depends on the area you're in, but I live and work in two different states and that is the best for me in both areas. With that you wouldn't need roam control as it is a Sprint prl.
---Jay--- Mobile moderating from the m.A.A.d. city Nexus™
I live in an area that should apparently be inundated with 4G LTE. Well I can walk around and get nothing but 3G and and mind blowing slow speeds at that. Since the service ahould be in my area and Sprint fails to deliver is that grounds to get out of my contract? Its not just my phone, my girlfriendhas the same and gets slow speeds as well.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
No you can't get out of a contract for slow speeds of any kind. But you can upload a prl that will make you roam constantly and they will cut you off for roaming too much. Or take it to a store and have them check it out.

Can I use another 4G LTE provider on the Galaxy Note II from Sprint?
I have Boost Mobile and I had a Galaxy S2 with Clear.com 4G WiMax. I now can only get 3G, and as you ALL know the 3G speed has lowered quite a bit. (200~400k vs 700~900k 3 years ago)
Another alternative I guess would be to get a Hotspot, but who wants to carry around a phone AND a hotspot when you can have them both on the phone?
I believe you can use this device on any network that is actually using Sprint towers, like MetroPCS (?) or Boost?
There are threads somewhere for instructions on flashing this.
(i'm also talking out my ass, because I have only noticed these threads in passing, never actually researched this. But I bet if you Searched a bit, you'd find the info.)
Um LOL. Like the thread right under this one?

Thanks for the info but that's not what I meant. I mean the 4G service, not the voice, talk, text and 3G. I have that already. (that's what the thread under this one does, help you program the Note 2 on Boost, I already did that part. I meant the 4G LTE, i.e. connecting it on Verizon's LTE or T-Mobile's (MetroPCS is now part of T-Mobile I believe?) Heck, even a Sprint LTE account if they allowed it by itself with no talk/text service would be nice.

Impossible to do first off you need to understand how technology and radios work Tmobile is GSM. Sprint and verizon are CDMA and you can only "roam" on 3g verizon with a prl that can get you kicked off, if you abuse it.

Ok, so maybe I do need to do some research. LTE is *not* like WiMax? It doesn't have separate "device" from the actual voice/text/3G radio?
LTE uses the same radio as the cellphone and 3G?

I give facts and argument you insult sprint... well of course you are right. who has ever heard of the "can suck it" argument ever loosing. that's how we explained to Hitler and the Japanese emperor that he had to surrender in WW2 "Mr Hitler can suck it" -pres trueman, "since I can suck it I have ordered my forces to surrender and suggested to the Japanese to do the same"-hitler (translated to English)
if you can't give facts to support your claim you can go head and get an iPhone on a gsm network since you are using the same arguments apple uses to ensnare its sheep -i mean- customers
either that or you are an at&t rep or fanboy trying to weakarm customers away from sprint. why you aren't targeting your biggest competitor Verizon is beyond me but take that stuff to T-Mobile customers they'll eat that up like they eat their "unlimited" throttled data
one bad experience in one city with one small period of data speed downturn does not a bad carrier make
oh and mods don't blame chuko (or me) for starting arguments. arguments are healthy and help shape perception
