headset next track without waking up phone? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I bike with my phone in the pocket and use headset for listening songs. Everytime i double click headset button, it next track the song but also wake up the phone. Then i usually ended up calling people like crazy. Anyone know if there are settings or player or headset control which can control songs without waking up the phone?
Many thanks.

What are you using to listen to music? I know a long press volume up on Pandora skips to the next sing and I don't think it wakes the phone.

hi
I flashed with Xenon HD rom and using apollo player.

well it wakes the phone but only to the lock screen... how is it unlocking and then hitting the phone then dialing?
Also, on stock 4.1.1 with Google Play Music, double click headset skips tracks and doesn't wake or unlock the phone.

Music Player (TF3D tab)

Hi all,
is there a way to change the music player so that you can turn the screen off but the music will continue to play?
Thanks
Ryan
You mean while playing through the speakers? Because it already does that if you are using headphones.

ahhhh....that's what it is...i had this issue last night but couldn't figure out why it cut off when in the past i kept playing...thanks for the clarification...
get a program called shutxp...when u bring it up it has 3 options...turn off, soft reset, and screen off....the screen off option does exactly what u are asking for
I have the same issue. I use s2u2 as a lock application. I start the music on the speakers and then i lock the screen using s2u2 and not the power button. S2u2 will turn off the screen after 10 seconds and the music keeps playing. I set up s2u2 in such a way that it doesn't kill the power when the screen is off.

Yeah, it was confusing for me too. I couldn't figure out what has happening until I read a post on XDA. Don't really see a reason why the behavior would be different for speakers versus headphones.

[Q] Supplied Headphones - Track skip?

Hi, i've searching for this for a while, but to no avail.
I love my new Galaxy S2, but there is one issue that bothers me, and that is that I have to take it out of my pocket to skip tracks.
I heard from one person stating you could skip the track by long pressing the button on the supplied head phones, however I cannot get this to work. Does this work for any body else?
If the headphones can't skip track, does anyone know of any that do (volume control is not important)? Or an app/trick to skip track without needing to take the phone out of my pocket? (such as long press volume rocker)
I have an old bluetooth stereo headset, and even this won't allow track skipping, only play/pause, despite working fine with my nexus one. All help would be greatly appreciated.
You skip tracks by double pressing the mic button. It's a pain to get the timing right, but it does work with the stock music player.
You can download PowerAMP Music Player from the android market.
It's a better music player and you can longpress the button to change the track
Trail version is 15 days, you gotta buy the full app after that

So If my headphones can't even play/pause the stock music app , I might have an some other underlying issue?
Strangely I play/pause with the headset if I install Fedes music app alpha v4, and possibly others. Will try uninstalling all music apps again and see if they were interferring somehow.
Confused!
To follow up, the double click to skip works in Fedes Music app (you're right about the timing) but still won't work in either the stock music app or the music hub.
Really fustrating.
The double clicking works on stock but you have to get the timing right, which is near impossible. The whole Samsung s2 stock music app is a load of crap compared to the original S, the sound, the music contol, the whole thing is much worse! I don't know what they have done, but they have definitely gone backwards with the music app!
You can use a remote from an HTC headphone for skipping tracks.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the button does not work at all when using the stock app. No play/pause, no track skip, nothing.
All other music apps seem to work as intended. So surely this must be an issue with my stock music app? As if there is a hidden setting I turned off, but can't find to turn back on.

About 2.5 years too late but I think I've nailed it. I can get a consistently successful double click skip by holding the first click a little longer. Using a pair of cheap Sony earphones on the S2.

Music Changing hacks?

Is there an app or mod to make it skip or skip back a song by pressing the vol buttons?
also are there any roms that support this
????????????????????
I actually wanted to see this. I hate taking my phone out of my pocket, turning on the phone, and pressing music app while at work.
May be a hassle when trying to turn the music down without turning on the phone though.

Not to my knowledge. Perhaps someone has had success but I don't recall seeing a positive report.
I ended up getting a bluetooth headset... media controls work perfectly (plus no wire sticking out of the phone).

[Q] Notification Sounds while playing Music??

Hello. I was just wondering if anyone else has found it annoying that the notification sounds still play even while I'm playing music?! Even worse, it actually pauses the music for like a second! What gives? Is there a way to change this behavior (aside from, of course, manually putting the phone on SILENT).
I made a Tasker profile putting my phone on silent whenever the headset is plugged. Any way to do this for when I'm playing music through the phone speakers?
i was thinking the same thing the other day, how annoying it is when it pauses to set off the notification! there must be a way to stop it!

Lock screen media controls

It seems lock screen media controls only appear if there is just one music/podcast app launched (foreground or background)
Does anyone know how to fix that?

So you basically want permanent music controls even if you don't listen to anything?
I've searched for that myself in different forums but can't find anything.. best solution is to use a headset that has a play/stop button so even if there's nothing on the screenlock and I push the "play" button the last audio app starts again (either podcast or spotify).
Anyhow, if you find a permanent solution please let us know here

not really, but I guess that would be nice too
What I want is to have media controls when I'm listening to something.
Currently if I'm listening to music and listened to podcasts earlier (beyondpod is in background) media controls are not visible on the lock screen
I have to kill beyondpod to get them back.
