Can someone grab the update from today (9/5/12) ? They finally fixed the exploit allowing Verizon nexus' to install wallet from the market.
Edit: never mind. Its a trap.

Was anyone able to install google wallet on Galaxy Nexus yet? Preferably in a way that does not require root, wipe, or anything (excuse my terminology if it's incorrect, I'm not very familiar with inner working of the platform).
I'm running plain vanilla GNex, not rooted, and would like to use the wallet. Is there an easy way to install it on my phone?
Thanks guys!
P.S. Does google plan on officially releasing the app to GNex soon?
It's not possible to get this running without either being rooted, or an official release from Google. As far as I know nothing has been announced so far, so I'm afraid your out of luck for the time being.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
There's a thread on how to do it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19750674
But it looks like it requires Clockwork and/or root.
Just root the phone and then throw a custom ROM on there. If you need help with this I will be glad to help you.
Just PM me and I can help you.
Some people hate the verizon apps , I actually like them because I am the account manager. I need to make sure there is no overages from time to time on my numbers also I like the My Verizon Widget.
Ever since 4.0.4 , all 4.0.4 roms it never works.
It says your device is not compaptible is there any chance someone provide me APK for Verizon Login or tell me how to load it ignoring the error in play store? thank you

Are you referring to 4.0.4-based custom ROMs? Because I'm running the official Verizon 4.0.4/Build IMM30B that was pushed over-the-air to some people, and Verizon login works fine, as do the Verizon-branded apps like NFL Mobile.
I have run into this issue on custom ROMs though, particularly on my Motorola Xoom. Unfortunately, I believe all the Verizon-branded apps are designed to specifically check for Verizon-blessed ROMs, not just whether or not you're a subscriber. As far as I know, none of our devs here at XDA have ever found a way to circumvent that protection.

Well 4.0.4 built from source isn't an official Verizon ROM, so therefore the Verizon-branded apps aren't going to work for you, unfortunately. That's so lame isn't it? Being a subscriber isn't enough...you have to be running officially blessed firmware as well.
Also, that "leaked" 4.0.4 wasn't really a leak. Verizon did actually push it OTA to some users but the OTA was ultimately stopped for unknown reasons. Regardless, if you want 4.0.4 AND the Verizon apps, I think the 4.0.4 OTA IMM30B is going to be your only choice for now until Verizon pushes an official IMM76D ROM, which hopefully will be soon.
So is there still no way to circumvent this problem? I'm running Apex on 4.0.4 and Verizon Login isn't compatible with my device. Is there no way to sideload the apk, or is that not enough? I can't imagine not being able to use the NFL Mobile app once football season starts up.

So I read that Google Wallet is coming pre-installed on the Galaxy Nexus phones on the Play store. So I went ahead and searched for Wallet on the Play Store and it was finally able to install. Looks like whatever was blocking it before has been lifted.

Yup. I just did the same. I'm on the latest build of ICS, if that matters.
Not sure if we can link sites but this site shows new update coming to fire phone.
http://pocketnow.com/2014/12/17/amazon-fire-phone-update
VPN support
translation abilities
New message settings
the ability to block numbers
custom ringtones
improved camera ui
updates to improve battery life
Lock screen info which adds music controls and new notification options
I can't wait!
Hopefully with this new update we can still use google play.
Might have to take mine out of the box and upgrade.

Everything I can find that gives a version number says that the "new" upgrade is 3.6.8. If you recently purchased a new fire phone, you already HAVE 3.6.8. So, for those of us who got in on the $199 deal, we already have the update and we're getting nothing new at this time. I got all excited, but I already have 3.6.8.
You CAN sideload google apps (I can't get google photos, but I think that is a function of the underlying android os being 4.2.2). If anyone has an apk for google photos, I'd appreciate it. I couldn't find it on the play store.

In my experience, Photos comes along for the ride when you install Google+. If you haven't done that yet, try installing it; if you have, then chances are the Fire Phone isn't going to display it as a separate app (unless you use a custom launcher).
So idk if anybody has the Google Assistant yet for this device... But telling by my thread I don't what's up with that?
I used the Xposed Module to enable Google Assistant before Google had announced the roll-out to Android 6+ devices. After the official update it borked the Xposed Module..
I currently run only beta Google Apps/Services and I have yet to see anything..
Bummer that's what I was afraid of, but glad it's not just me getting scroogled
This is what I was using:
