A few people have reported some sound issues. None on my end. You might try this.

I am still new and just thought about something. With the nightly builds do you wipe the date and cache as well as Dalvik before you install the rom??? Or do you just install the rom over your most recent working version???

I never wipe, I just pull up my britches and start benchmarks.
All I wipe is cache and davlik when flashing a new nightly. If you start to run into alot of issues you might want to start fresh.
This is what I do...
Reboot recovery
Nandroid backup
Wipe cache and davlik
Flash new nightly
Flash gapps
Reboot

I recently flashed cm7, works great. The only thing I'm having trouble is with the apps. I can't download the apps I had previously from the market because It says I have them installed already.
So how do I fix this/restore my apps?
thanks
Try and clear data for the market app and see if that works for you.
Erm, how exactly?
If you go into settings and then applications. Find market under all and click clear data.
Part of my problem is that I don't have the market app installed
Did you flash a Gapps package when you flashed your ROM? That will give you Market and other basic Google apps. I believe CM is packaged without an integrated Gapps loadout for legal reasons.

No I didn't flash Gapps, I just installed market via apk, cleared the data but I can't use the market cause I cannot set up a profile that its asking for.
How would I go about this Gapps package?
There was no data to clear anyways.
About to try this
wipe data+cache
flash cm7
wipe data+cache
flash gapps
If you wiped system, cache, and dalvik cache before you installed CM7, you shouldn't even need to wipe. You'll just reboot into recovery and flash the Gapps .zip just like you flashed your ROM.
As far as finding it, I'd just Google "cm7 Google apps" or "cm7 gapps", you'll find a download link for the .zip. Keep in mind that, unlike the ROM itself, the Gapps package isn't specific to one model phone.

Which cm7 version are you using?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
In that case you might want to start from scratch:
Boot into recovery -- nandroid backup -- factory reset -- wipe dalvik cache -- install cm7 -- flash gapps.
And yeah, check to make sure you're using a current stable cm7 build.

What version of CM7 did you flash?
depending on the version of cm7, i would flash one of aero's kernals
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7717-kernel-aeroevan-vivow-kernels-for-aosp/
v8 needs to be for 7.2 otherwise, flash .7 version.
7.2 + Aero kernel .8 is an amazing combination. Do that!

7.1.0.1 stable is the version im using.

This fixed it, thank you.
A thanks to everyone else also.
I flashed the XenonHD rom a few days ago. Now there is already an update, do i need to do a full wipe? I would have posted in the Xenon thread but i was not allowed.
If its just a small update, a cache/dalvik wipe and flash is usually good. Backup first just in case there are issues.

Most updates no. Just cache and dalvik cache. However read the op instructions to see if full wipe is needed and if you experience weird issues do a clean install and see if issues still exist before reporting bugs.

First off I searched but didnt find it.
Is there a quick and easy way to update nightlies to the newest release.
I am currently using ericwill ROM - CyanogenMod 10 - JB 4.1.1 - UNOFFICIAL.
I have 2012-09-15 and would like to upgrade to 2012-09-18.
Do I need to do a full wipe and flash and then reinstall my apps with titanium backup or is there a simple way given that they are very similar?
also can I restore all the system data as well or is that too risky given that system may have changed a bit?
Thanks in advance.

U can just flash it on top but to get the best results its rly best to whipe... U avoid problems wen u do the whipe.... N as long as ur on the same rom as far as I no n my experience u can restore all system data with no problems but only do that if ur staying with the same rom other then that it's really not recommended... Hope that helps

thanks guys flashed last night worked out well
I did a darkside superwipe
flashed new rom
rebooted and let sit a while 10 mins
flashed gapps
rebooted and let sit 10 mins
rebooted again and did full sytem and apps restore with titanium backup.
one question should I do the darkside cache wipe as well and if so when should that be done?
I think as if it should be done after flashing the rom. if so after the gapps too?

When flashing a nightly you dont have to wipe! You can just add on top of each other!!! But make sure to WIPE DATA if flashing a new ROM.
To build on the first reply, I backup current nightly with trwp. Wipe all, install new nightly, Flash gapps, restore data from last backup. Wipe cache just in case and reboot. Now if on aokp, use aokp backup to restore settings. No tibu needed, all user apps restored with data

the aokp backup market app? All the reviews below it say it doesn't work with nightlies or other versions.. they say that the app itself has to be updated for every nightly. At least what i got from it.
I have CM10.1 installed, the M Snapshot build 20130121 and I want to flash the newest M Snapshot 20130304 onto my phone. Do I have to clear the cache and everything and then restore all of my apps via TiBackup or can I just go ahead and flash this new rom and go? I've looked in the search and nothing really helped with this...

You can clean flash. (Wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset and wipe system)
Most people dirty flash (wipe cache and dalvik)
Dirty flashing can potentially cause some small or large issues but not always. If dirty flashing leads to issues do not report anything without doing a full wipe and a fresh install.
Make sure you also download the latest gapps that came out after the first stable cm10.1 it's made specifically for 4.2.2

Since you're simply just flashing an update (not changing roms), you can flash the cm10.1 in recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot. This will not erase any apps or data. Always consider making a backup before flashing if you don't have an up-to-date one on your device. Cheers

Never thought about having to update gapps. When we update does it remove what we had?

Yeah they are updated, stuff like Google Now is updated and Maps and Market.
Just flash the new gapps, then wipe cache and dalvik cache and you are good to go.
Just in case, make a backup. :good:
