I think the new one are out. 20130301 I think.
Never thought about having to update gapps. When we update does it remove what we had?

Yeah they are updated, stuff like Google Now is updated and Maps and Market.
Just flash the new gapps, then wipe cache and dalvik cache and you are good to go.
Just in case, make a backup. :good:

How do i install these? do i wipe anything? Just flash these and they override the stock light themed apps?
I just had a go on those and it didn't come out too well. Too much to explain. Keep searching for a guide or something.
bow chicka wow wow.
Yes you just flash them in clockworkmod like any other zip. I'd recommend clearing cache/dalvik, but otherwise, they just install right over the original gapps.

Flashing them in cwm auto wipes cache and dalvik. But out of 9 I flashed this afternoon only 3 worked, and not on the 3 I was hoping for, Gmail, email and messaging.

Hi,
I tried to flash CyanogenMod today from JellyBellyv3.
It originally worked, but it wouldn't sync my google contacts, wouldn't let me open the play store or gmail app, so I decided to reformat.
Now nothing of mine is on the phone, play store isn't available even and it won't let me sync whatsoever.
What the hell did I do and how do I fix this? XD

Did you wipe data before flashing CM10? It's best to wipe data when changing to a different rom.
Steps are:
1) wipe data
2) Flash ROM
3) Flash Gapps
4) Reboot
EDIT: Also make sure you are flashing the 20121110 gapps if you are running CM10 with 4.1.2
Wipe all data from CWM?
Question being, if I entirely reformat, will CWM still be there?
I had downloaded the wrong gapps, I'm gonna try using the right one now.

No, Wipe data will just wipe any of the ROM data
Also wipe cache then advanced/wipe davik cache
Everything will still be on your sdcard

whenever you change roms, you need to wipe data/cache otherwise you might up with similar problems again.
Sorry for the noob question. I searched but i couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. Here's the deal...i have had alot of rooted phones but i just rooted my own phone for the first time, obviously the GNex. I used the toolkit i found on here and it went great. I am using TWRP recovery cause it was recommended by AOKP and when i flashed there new Jb ROM i noticed how twrp is set up a lot different then CWM. I found out that i had to factory wipe before flashing. So getting to my question. When i flash the update do i do that same wipe or do i wipe cache, davlik and/or system? Also i gotta do a back up first right? Then with gapps is it the same steps as flashing the update? If someone can show me the way that would be great. Thanks.

1. Backup current ROM
2. Wipe
3. Flash new ROM
4. Flash GAPPs (if required)
5. Reboot
Well, for updating purpose you've only to wipe cache and dalvik (but i think it's not mandatory for all the rom) then you straight flash the rom and gapps (everytime both) then you reboot and you're good to go! And backup is always welcome!

If you're staying on the same rom with just an update you probably don't have to wipe unless you have issues upon reboot but otherwise you probably always should.
so i got an update notification from goo saying my rom and gapps have an update (aokp jb 4.2 mr1 build 2) so i flashed em and i got my stock reboot screen then every google app foreclosing over and over but rom still there. what the hell????

well what happened here then? i looked on aokp and its not there. its the one i have now build 1. im really confused. the new gapps update is 20120429. it must be wrong if everything google was foreclosing. so what did goo.im give me?
ok it is build 2 on aokp. so gapps must be the same one i have been using? because this new one everything was foreclosing.
Better off doing updates manually and not using an app to do it for you

From the date I think you flashed a gapps for jb 4.1 on a 4.2 ROM. Pretty sure that the 4.2 gapps is dated 12/12/12.

ya thats what im about to do now.
i went and downloaded build 2 straight from aokp and flashed that with same gapps for build 1 cause that hasnt changed on there site. my boot animation is the stock nexus logo instead of that pink unicorn with the gears. i figured it still wasnt working but everything seems to be running normal.....actually really fricken smooth and snappier. thanks for all your input everybody!
i reactivated my old old old evo that i havnt updated a rom for in atleast a year and a half, maybe cm5? i went to log into the play store and other gaps and i get nothing but errors. i assume because it has the oldschool "market" not a "play store"
im sure you're thinking " why doesnt he just search for it, he hasa brain and internet access" but i have and my xda forum search keeps coming back LD . i really appreciate any help! thanks
Lol, nice
Go to goo.im/gapps and download the one for your rom version
I'd suggest updating to at least CM7 (gingerbread), because thats where functionality peaked

Today I installed the actual version (from 28th of February) of CM 10.2 brought to us by Rox.
I installed the I8160P version.
After that I get this error message after every reboot: "TeamCanjica-OTACenter has stopped"
I cleared the cache befor installing the new version of 10.2. Before that I used 10.2 from 4th of January.
That does this error message mean? What is the problem? How can I get rid of it?
Give me logcat i will do my best

I hope this helps!
Thanks for your great work, Rox!
Additional Info:
I startet the app TeamCanjica-OTACenter manually and allowed permanent superuser for it.
In the tab "Updater" I find the error message in red: Cannot read TeamCanjicaOTA properties.
Following the hints in the main development thread I looked up the string "teamcanjica.ota.version=1.0" in build.prop. It does exist.
i got same problems.

hi guys.. sorry i was kinda late for this, I just flashed cm10.2 and im getting the same error.. so the only solution is to remove the app? so how are we goin to update or know if there is an update in our cm10.2 if ever?
and I dont wanna create new thread about this so im just goin to ask it here,
C10.2
cm-10.2-20140227-UNOFFICIAL-codina.zip
gapps
CM10.2.x - 4.3.0 - 20130813
this where the one i flashed on my ace 2. my question is, will there be a problem if I flash the wrong gapps? for example i flashed CM10.2 and then used the gapps for CM10.1?
2nd question is gapps - stands for google apps? if it is does it mean it gapps are optional? if i dont flash the gapps there wont be any apps installed? like a clean format right? cos all the pre-installed apps in CM10.2 are downloadable at playstore right?
@Rox

ohh another question, if ever there's been an update in that thread, I just need to flash the new update like what I did when I 1st installed my CM10,2 right?
I mean I have to flash the CM10.2(neew update) and the gapps again?
and flashing means i need to backup all my data coz it'll get erased?
correct me if Im wrong..
I also noticed the performance menu in system settings although i haven't change anything in it yet, I just wanna ask a link for a thread if there is where I can study what's governor, I/O scheduler etc? sorry I'm not really familiar with this forum yet..
and thanks again you've been very helpful :good:
