Technically we can easily enough. Just need some little screwdrivers.

Almost all of those batteries have been proven to not provide better capacity than stock battery.. They just lie with the capacity
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app

How do you know this?
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2

I've never had a good experience with 3rd party batteries. And at 13 quid I doubt it'll be as good as the seller says
Sent from my LT26i

Oh those 'Gold' batteries. There is usually a different rating given on the battery and the package and sometimes when you remove that gold wrapper, you get even another rating.
A friend of mine bought some of those type of things earlier this year. They are useless and hardly provide more capacity. As a matter of fact, they worked annoyingly. Cause the battery would stay at like 90%. And suddenly drop to 70% without showing any progress in between.

See there's a lot of mixed reviews online about them too. Some say their fone's last soo much longer with them, some say they're pointless??
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2

i guess we have to try it ourselves... coz.. the STOCK BATTERY sucks..!! :/

Ben, believe me.
I tried so many batteries, o.k.,not for XS but that's all same sh*t.
I bought 6 or 7 batteries for my last phone (Dell Streak 5) and not a single one has been good.
Don't want to disrespect but Chinese selling craps on ebay (maybe you'll buy it from Taiwan but it's same s*it).
My phone couldn't last for a few hours with that batteries and I bought almost double capacity higher then original.
Now I know, only original battery, only original screen.
It just can't be good if it cost 5$ or 10$.
Unfortunately

Yeah, I fell for this scam... I installed the "high capacity" battery, but the performance was worse. When I complained through eBay customer service they immediately reimbursed me without even requiring proof. That proved me that they already knew their battery was bogus. So, naturally, I left a bad review and score.

Don't belive in everything you read on the Internet. Especially when it comes to electronics.
If that battery was for real, I'm pretty sure most phones would have a much larger battery, especially at that price.
Use common sense and don't get hit by the placebo effect with the new battery.

What about this one? Though its not a significant improvement (1900mAH) but seems LEGIT

Well my extended nexus battery is shipping currently, but since its only 2100 mAh and this one is 2400 mAh. Maybe the nexus one is better because its an OEM battery.

Usually, no-name Chinese lipo got overrated mAh capacity ratings (like this one 2400mAh in same case as regular Samsung battery which is only 1850-2100 mAh). Even more then Anker - 2200mAh.
But someone got tested Anker battery - so maybe by reducing cycles life Anker made it happened (2200mAh)
2400mAh capacity for 6 bucks needs to be verified for sure.
I ordered the anker one for $10 bucks.. i will post screen shots here comparing stock vs the anker one if thats ok with the op. And if you could do the same with your stock and the one u bought would be awesome that way we can see which one really is better.
Edit : so far this is my stock

Just picked up two 2900mAh batteries for s3

Hey guys!
Just picked up two 2900mAh batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S3!
It came with a portable battery wall charger.
They're rated for 3.8v and 2900mAh
All for $20 too.
Perks of living in a really big city I guess.
I don't mean to be a braggard.
Just sharing my excitement!
I'm just happy they're not fat extended batteries. Thus not requiring a new cover and I can still use my otterbox defender too.
I'd post a screenie if my cam was working

Battery Dropping way way too fast? One more thing to check!

This tip is not rom specific and specifically for people where battery is dropping super duper fast on any rom. I'm talking like a percent every few seconds or so. This happened to me and I tried all the stuff I had read about like, dimming display, shutting off sync, disabling led's, disabling sounds, disabling haptic etc...
With all the apps that are normally discussed for sharing and vieweing battery life, there wasn't an app that was able to show me my current cpu usage level (that I knew about). I found a free one by searching: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eolwral.osmonitor&hl=en
and the second I launched it I saw, unfortunately, that ChompSMS (my go to program for years) was the culprit. Apparently it didn't play nice for whatever reason on my first CM9 Beta1 fresh install.
I uninstalled it and cpu went back to normal etc... now I'm on GoSMS... boo : )
Anyways, hope this helps someone who has the uber mega battery drainage and doesn't know why as I was stumped for a while until I used that app.

Agreed. Had my E4GT for a year now and my stock 1800mah battery just popped a couple of days ago. I think it had been going south for the past few months, cuz right now I'm using my old OG Epic's 1500mah battery and the battery life is better than ever! Dunno why the OG Epic's battery is working so well (considering it's a year older and been passed around the family a few times) but hopefully, my replacement 1800mah will be even better whenever it gets here...

I picked up an Anker 1800mHa battery + charger from Amazon.com and I'm very happy with it. The new battery seems slightly better than my OEM, but I don't think by much. Anyway, I picked up the Anker specifically identified for the E4GT for around $10 (and charger for $10). There are combo deals for other phones that I think are 100% compatible with the E4GT, but I didn't risk it. If you can be confident in what's compatible, you should be able to get 2 batteries + charger for $20.
Please don't rub my nose in it if you get that deal.

Too good to be true? We'll see.

So I have a plan to water-proof my GS3 with ZERO bulk (okay maybe like 1%)
I'm sure if you've Googled anything having to do with waterproofing your GS3, you've seen this: http://www.iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1010&ProductType=320
In theory, it seems like a great idea. Until you realize that you have no way to charge your phone or plug in earbuds.
A couple weeks after I saw that product, I came across this article: http://m.webosnation.com/galaxy-s3-gets-cleanest-touchstone-mod-yet
Now if you see where I'm going with this, you're probably thinking "Well that solves the charging problem, but what about the headphone jack?"
After about 10 minutes of research I found this: http://www.jabra.com/products/bluetooth/jabra_clipper/jabra_clipper
Unfortunately this blows the $80 budget of a waterproof case.
So instead, I just found a refurbished pair of blue tooth headphones for $35 on ebay. (I bought these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004B...edirect=true&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&tag=chescifi-20)
So the idea is to combine these products (Jabra clipper is optional) and have a waterproofed phone. Is this idea too good to be true? I have ordered all of the items. I will post a video showing my results when I have received the items.

Although it says that it isn't meant to be permanent, it implies that that is only because it does not allow charging. Either way, I've bought the items. My point of view is that if the waterproofing isn't successful, at least I have some badass accessories now right?

It says reusable. That means they intend you take it off sometime. The 5 sealing tapes are probably for wear and tear leaks but maybe they could be used for "panels" to cover those holes but I really think this is a temporary skin for if you're going out in a wet environment.
hows it working for you?
So far, the "case" itself is literally the only part of this experiment that has not shipped yet. Please be patient for a video on my results. I'm going to try to go as long as I can with one package worth of material. I'd say I can make it last 1-2 months. I don't plan on much submersion except maybe for a quick test.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
The idea seems great, but it would worry me a bit. Not to mention the fact that devices that were not built to be waterproof can get water trapped in non air tight areas. At CES they had a liquipelled Tab 2 that got water trapped between the glass and the display. Not fun. This technology is used more for accidental exposure to moisture.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
He says he can take pics underwater and still say that you think it's not a good idea bc a tablet(that isn't built like a phone) got water under the screen... That means tablet wasn't sealed properly no?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Technology that was not designed to be waterproof may not play nice with that. I'm not saying that nothing will work with it, I'm just saying that it may not be the best idea in all cases.
