when verizon finally says its ok to push the update. (no one knows)
No word from Verizon. Have been running CM10 on CM nightlies .just reverted back to 4.0.4 in case they release this month. But if not I'll re-unlock and re-root and just wait for keylimepie. But hope to get it within the month or I'm done re-waiting for ota.

Don't hold your breath. Verizon is notoriously slow to push ota updates, and JB will be no different.

Verizon doesn't push the updates for Toro. Google does. Big Red does, however, need to sign off on the update prior to it rolling out, especially given that it will include new basebands. It also bears mentioning that Toro has, at times, been first to receive an update

Yes, that is correct. My point is, Verizon is the rate limiting step in the process, and if OP really wants Jelly Bean, then he might as well flash it himself. After all, isn't that the beauty of a Nexus?

Use the leaked update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30846512#post30846512
Only custom rom that is running the leaked "customized" version of the verizon rom is thuderstick red Bull. It's a nice, verizon friendly rom
Only rom that is Verizon friendly? I've ran several roms. The toro roms work. Some have issues that some do not. Bugless beast works, so does CM nightlies. There are many flavors of jb just try and use the one that works for you. Its not a contest. Its your phone play, test, find the rom that works best for you. Saying one developer is better than the other. Its all user choice. And developers deserve appreciation its their work that make customizing possible.

I was speaking to vzw tech support today. Direct quote, almost verbatim : "I was just checking on the status of the software update that addresses the issues you're having with data connectivity. The reason it took so long is I was checking several third party websites. I wasn't able to find any information about a release date..."
This translates roughly to "I had to search Google, because Verizon is retarded. "

I never said that there is ONLY one Verizon Friendly rom out there, there's almost 100 of them that work perfectly fine. There's plenty of "toro" roms out there, but the specific question was stability and if he didn't want to veer too far away from Stock, while still maintaining a working set of Verizon apps. I use the Verizon apps as well, but it's always a manual process and when it breaks there's always a procedure.
I too like the Verizon data usage widget comes in handy. I totally agree that there are alot of roms that the app gave the log in issue before Verizon's gn update. But like I posted in other posts I reverted back to the k ota. But after today that sprint is updating today we will be soon to follow. So I will half fast for a week or 2 more before I never look back on OTA again. :banghead:

I was ticked for the slap in the face from Verizon. Letting Sprint beat our phones to JB. So I changed my mind on waiting for the ota. Loaded JRO03O. Seems solid and fast. More bars in radio than I ever had both WiFi and lte/cdma. I can say this my last damn contract!

Pretty self explanatory from the title. I've seen a bunch of people who have updated from 4.0.2 and welcomed the new changes - but what about us already on 4.0.4? Has anyone gone from IMM30B to IMM76K? What differences did you notice (other than just "better signal") Is it really worth having to wipe our phone for these changes?
Or would waiting to see if a full release comes out so we don't have to wipe our phones is a better option?
Thanks guys.
Just flash the radio's for know and wait for the "Official" release which shouldn't be too far off.

Ditto, I updated my radios but nothing else. I think it'd be a bigger pain to downgrade your whole phone back to 4.0.2 to allow for the proper 4.0.4 update. Easier to wait for an incremental update, or wait for 4.0.5/6

Where the hell is imm76k?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
It's not for AT&T, it's for VZW
IMM76K is a 4.0.4 Verizon Wireless / LTE release for the GNex that appears official and started getting pushed out OTA to a very few regular users and a number of VzW phones (in store displays for instance) over the last two days. At least one user was good enough to copy the zip before it was installed on his/her device and started it, so many others could start trying it as well.

I was on the leaked 4.0.4 radios/BL and flashed back to the 4.0.2's. Applied the zip file on here and upgraded.
Honestly? Not a fan. Probably going to flash back to what I had. Of course, it's all relative to your hardware/location/etc...
My experience. Flash it and see what yours is.

People got it directly from Google's servers. An xda user ran alogcat on a store phone that was showing the update notice. That file name allowed the URL for the update to be discovered. At least that's what happened on xda .

It is only for Verizon GNexuii right now. As for a changelog, well I haven't seen one yet.
This is my first nexus device, ive owned several other droids but now that i tried the nexus and all its features and advantages, i love it, so much that im not buying anything else till the next one comes out
So the question:
Ive heard jelly bean is coming(i hope it comes for this too), so if it does come, how do i update it? Is the whole thing going to be pushed OTA too? Or do i have to use Kies like with other samsungs? Or do i have to flash an image too?
That thought Its been bugging me for days since i switched to yakju
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Its been advertised that the galaxy nexus will be the first phone with jelly bean. This means the GSM nexus straight from Google. Cdma should see it in a few weeks in a form of a custom rom possibly. Usually in the form as an OTA or a hopefully a direct update link... like I have seen from my previous phones.
Sent From My Sprint Galaxy Nexus
Thru OTA just like the rest of the updates although I'm pretty sure the moment it comes out we will get the link at once for manual flashing. Kies won't work because that's only for samsung proprietary products. Ours may be made by samsung but it's still a Google phone
Still on stock Nexus and loving it!
Kies is Samsung phones with Touchwiz only.

Despite have flashed yakju, you will likely not be the first person here on XDA to get the update. As soon as we get the download link (from the first person to post it here), all you have to do is download it from, and follow the instructions in, this thread. Otherwise, just wait for the update to come to your device OTA (although this could take days or weeks after the first person to get it).

The non-yakju non-GSM models will take quite a bit longer to be updated, as Sprint and Verizon have to go through their verification and testing.

They need to test all of their bloatware to make sure it is compatible with Jelly Bean first. That might take a while... In all seriousness, just root and flash a custom ROM. You'll be much happier in the end.

Then I got on XDA and realized WTF is wrong with me!?!?!? Rooting the SHIIIIEEET!!!

Besides, I have bought my device in Europe and it is not connected to Verizon in any way and there is no Verizon bloatware in my phone, it is pure AOSP as far as I can tell.

Question for all you experienced custom ROM installers: is there a custom JB rom in the wild that has everything working? I've been thinking about JB since it came out, and now I am reading that it might be another few months before we have the official T-Mobile version. I am finally tempted to root and do a custom rom.
So, is there a fully working, stable Cyogen Mod 10 out there? I am not interested in nightly builds. I would just like the experience one gets from a Nexus phone that is running vanilla JB.
Thanks!!

I say T-Mobile because the article is specifically referencing them. I've gone through all of the recent roms created by great devs like DJIntrigue which seem to be quite ready for prime time so it doesn't make much sense that there needs to be more "months" for a final release. We're not talking usability here as I assume most of us root our devices but it would be great to have faster availability of the latest Android firmware in case we wanted to run that.

The problem is carriers want to add in their own apps and "test" the update for compatibility with their networks...not to mention the majority of users aren't text savvy (or rooted, for that matter) and the carrier doesn't want to be flooded with "I updated mai fone and it's no worky no mo'" calls....
We may want faster availability, the carriers want people to pay upgrade fees (and/or buy devices outright) and less headaches....

Dj's and Wild's jb roms are fairly heavily modified. The leaks they are based on are still buggy and horrible on battery life.
I for one would much rather wait a few more months and get a solid release.
Besides, I'm willing to bet that most who are getting impatient waiting for the official release will wind up going back to custom roms within a couple of days anyway.
Plus, with how good Frosty and XquiziT are, you could pretend its based of the official release and be just as happy! (If I wanted to blame anyone it'd be them for raising the bar and forcing Tmobile and Sammy back to development!)
I honestly don't get all the impatience. With how hyped some folks are getting over it I can only see them being disappointed! Then we get to read all about how lame Sammy and Tmobile are for not taking the time to make it better!

No leaks anymore from samsung period! For any device.
It'd have to be leaked from tmobile for us to get it now.
That's how I understand it anyway. If you follow the build versions, there would've probably been about 9 other leaks by now, had they kept their systems up like they were.
(Last leak was LI8, new ota is LIJ) 9 builds in between. Also I'm guessing the jb update must not actually be ready. (Maybe they found something they didn't like)
They seem to be doing what I expected with having another official ICS update before JB.
I could be wrong of course. Time will tell.

obviously not an official answer, but it seems that they cannot extract the radio from the phone, and so they are reverting to 4.1 and hoping that he gets the OTA again so they can extract it before the ota is flashed?
Sounds like that is the plan. But this raises a good point, especially since we don't know how the test ota process works, and thus don't know for sure that he would receive the ota again. Maybe it would make sense to first get it rooted and then pull the radios via the gnex toolbox (which is probably easier and quicker than doing it manually) and maybe also pull a full system image or create an image. zip of the stock ROM through CWM.
That said, these guys are doing this out of pure goodwill, and they should do whatever works best for them and doesn't interfere with their lives. Just happy they gave us the news

The OTA "should" be linked to a device ID. When the public OTA rolls out, blocks of devices are updated at various intervals (which is why some get the OTA later than others). The server housing the OTA at present should have a block of test device IDs authorized to download. If this holds true, then he should be able to grab the update again if running JRO03O. Key word is "should". :fingers-crossed:

Odd. I'm running a self built 4.2.2, and I just finished a 1.5 hour call with no issue.
