Saving APN - HTC One X

Folks,
is there a way to save the APN details ? Everytime I flash a ROM I need to go back into APN settings and re-enter them. eg. perhaps a tool which I can restore from Titanium Backup which populates the APN settings.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

..thanks, but which app or system file do you restore from titanium backup ? I've had a dig around and there seems to be a file called apn.conf or something like that, but not sure what to restore to get that back.

I'm guessing you'd need root for that.. but I don't even remember what its like to not be rooted.
If you're talking about the sense launcher, I believe the preferences you're talking about are located in
/data/data/com.htc.launcher/shared_prefs/
Or.. labeled as [DESKTOP] ... in titanium (just fyi).
I know the app that will satisfies your need..
Use File Expert : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xcxin.filexpert&hl=en
It can backup your apps, without having the need to root your device..

The method I've heard of is
creating a nand backup of the ROM
flash to stock make your mms changes
restore the nand backup

Does that work? The APNs aren't wiped or reloaded with the rom restore?

What else do you want to know?
That's really all there is to it, via EPST or APN Backup and Restore.

It's never worked for me for a Native MMS fix on Boost Mobile on an AOSP ROM from a Sense Rom.
(Restoring a Sense Nand on an AOSP Rom.)
I always had to settle for 3rd Party Messaging Clients.
But, many others have sworn by it.
Supposedly, the APN settings are left alone.
Your mileage may vary.
I modded my phone apk to get voice mail,no 3rd party needed.
And as far as mms just change the carrier from Sprint to boostmobile, in your advanced settings using epst ##3282#
Advanced
In there.

This thread is about the possibility of persistent APN settings not Boost Mobile fixes.
The context of my comment was for AOSP ROMs in which case EPST isn't available.
3rd party messaging apps that allow you to set your own APNs like Handcent or GoSMS for example is what I'm talking about and on non-Sense based ROMs is really the only reliable option.

Did you rename the back up and insert spaces?
Nandroids can't have spaces in them
so instead of having viper 2.7
you'd have viper2.7
etc
I used this method (someone posted it before you guys on a German forum)

[Question] AOKP Settings Backup And Restore

Hi,
Currently on Task650's latest AOKP, Is there any way I can backup and restore my AOKP system and ROM settings?
Also, a somewhat unrelated question. I know Google Play keep track of every app you've downloaded and from there one can easily reinstall everything lost post clean flash. I also know there is an option where apps are immediately reinstalled upon logging into Google account, post clean flash. I was wondering if I could customize that list before everything begins to automatically reinstall? It is because I don't use every app I've downloaded before. I've downloaded hundreds of apps, but only really use like 20.
Thanks!
Use the search feature it comes in handy...
You can back up your rom and rom settings with your recovery and the only way to select which apps you want is to uncheck there "restore all apps" when booting up your device and manually downloading them.

Thanks.
I love how people just automatically assume you don't search. I did search. Didn't find what I was looking for, so I'm here. Plus I had more than just the one question.
I've explored my recovery (TW) and the only backup I can see is a partition backup, where the system partition alone, for me anyways, is more than twice the size of the ROM. What I was asking was just settings and settings only. Maybe there is an option for CWM that isn't available in TW?

I knew this already. Which again, is why I asked. Hoping someone would have a different way, or suggestions.
Thanks anyways.

Restoring system settings is not advised as it can cause issues. This is one of the prices you pay for installing custom roms.

How to enable extreme power saving mode on stock T-Mobile?

I know that power saving wasn't made until later on in the development cycle but I'm curious if there's any way to enable it on the T Mobile version right now. I assume they're going to add an update soon but I would like to have it now

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You need the app and have to edit default.xml in system/customize/ACC. That will at least make it show up, but I haven't tested it yet myself to see if the app actually works or not..
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I actually did it now, it works. You don't need to edit the default.xml at all.
I followed this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695310
I took all the APK's from Mike's Stock Odexed ROM.

Awesome, thanks for this!
EDIT:
Actually, this just makes my Settings force close when I go to Settings - Power. Then a few moments later it tells me that "Power has stopped."
Stupidly, I didn't do a nandroid backup. Can I restore the apks from a Titanium Backup?

I flashed the zip file mentioned in the OP because I'm lazy . Do you think I can just use Titanium Backup to restore my old settings.apk and HTCPowerManager.apk, and delete the HTCextremepowersaver.apk, apply the permissions then reboot and fix the issue?

Well, it doesn't matter. That zip file took away my root access, which seems impossible. Going to have to restore from a few days old nandroid backup probably.
