Hey all, I have a question about my new phone. It seems that after rooting and thorwing in the Blazer ROM my screen rotation is now INVERTED.So when I landscape to the right, what should landscape right side up, is now upside down and the same goes for landscaping to the left. Any idea what the cause might be?
I have tried a different ROM and the same thing is happening, it also never happened on the stock OS...which I seem to be having a VERY VERY hard time flashing. I have the current stock OS right now but ODIN won't seem to pass it. Any thoughts guys? I got many many games I want to play in landscape and I just can't. Any help would be greatly thanked.
Try clark44 freeGs3 rom. Best rom I've used yet
Apple just give up the IPHONE sucks deal with it.
Tmobile kernels do this. Are you flashing a tmobile kernel or do you have a tmobile phone flashing sprint roms?

This is your problem. AT&T and Tmobile both have different kernels than the CDMA (Sprint) model. You'll have to flash an AT&T kernel to fix the rotation issue. If you're having other issues, then I suggest you flash a full AT&T ROM.
Here's the AT&T section.

I try a new stock ROM tomorrow, finally got Blazer back and installed and the up-side down landscape is still happening. I tried the re-cal the gyro but to no avail.
I did find a thread on sprint forums though, so a few people having this problem with their phones ONLY after having rooted it. And in even fewer cases, upon getting a brand new phone...the same thing still happened. So I will find a new stock ROM try it and show it to the guys at my local store and see what we can get going. If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know! Thanks so much.

Anything's possible, but the U.S. variants have the same chip set (exact, to be honest.) so the drivers are still compatible with each phone. This doesn't mean you should go flash kernels like mad from other carriers, but it's been proven that T-Mobile kernels work on Sprint, it just causes landscape mode to be reversed and vice versa from GSM to CDMA.

Hello, I was curious if you can flash ROMs from the S3's from other carriers besides T-Mobile and also flash ROMs from the international forums. I remeber back when i had my Vibrant all you would have to do is flash the correct boot.img and also replace the keylayout file. Is it as simple as flashing a tmobile boot.img since the keys are all the same? Thank you in advance.
don't do it.

There is a possibility of sharing ROMs with the AT&T model. If you go check out their forum, there are a couple of ROMs which people have successfully flashed on the T-Mobile model. Search the threads and flash at your own risk!

That is totally true. On the Hercules you could flash the skyrocket roms. But the T-Mobile ones are usually better. The att ones are really only better when att leaks first.
Don't do it was an oversimplification, however.
Just heard about too many people flashing the international roms.

Nope, the hardware internally is too different. I doubt there'll be an easy method to port the ROMs either.
The AT&T ROMs on the other hand should be fairly easy to port and I think there is a group working towards this goal.
You will lose your insurance.
Just to let you know, you will lose your phone's insurance, this is not the same as the 90 day warranty. I remember I had flashed my vibrant to a rom using the international model, about six months later I got a letter in the mail saying assurion would no longer insure my phone, because it wasn't the right model. I might have been able to add the text file that adds the correct model number, but I don't know if that really works or how to I it.

In this case they could have seen the flashing being done and the changing of the build.prop file. That would make the most sense to me.
You obviously haven't been reading...heck go for it.
You CAN NOT do other roms, as was stated, the hardware is different.
Not that hard to search. Do it and report back with results.

Risky is an i9300 rom because the SoC is 100% different. We all have the same SoC so it's not as big of a deal.

Good day to all,
I am just checking to see the full flexibility of the S4 in terms of development.
I'm looking over the specs on all of the different variations that are out for the S4.. a little more then called for.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4
From my point of view.. the GT-I9505, SGH-I337, SGH-M919 are basicly the same.. only huge difference is the i9505 LTE bands compared to the M919 and I337.
I know if i flash the wrong kernel or mod, it can, and most likely would brick the phone..
i'm not smoking crack here.. but is it possible.. is there a way to use a I337 mod/kernel and flash over .. i guess the radio for the m919?
Can you? Maybe. Should you? No. Would it involve flashing the modem in any case? No.

T-Mobile and AT&T variants were next to identical on the GS3, i havent looked at specs for the S4, but i would definately NOT flash international S4 stuff to your US S4, no no no no no dont even think about it!

You can flash the ROMs for other models no problem as long as you flash a kernel made specifically for your device. I haven't experimented with kernels for other devices, but I can say that I have made the mistake of flashing both AT&T ROMs and i9505 ROMs and forgot to flash a TMO kernel and all I got was a nice failure to boot after the initial Galaxy S4 splash screen. Can't speak for the other carriers, but I just make it a point to flash KT kernel for the TMO device with each ROM I flash given the problems I've encountered with AT&T and i9505's models.
A brick waiting to happen. You should never flash a kernel that is NOT made for your device. Oh well going to be a good thread to watch a few days. Makes for some good reading, and good lessons for others.
Carry on!
Your welcome
As @lordcheeto03 stated I flashed i9505 rom on ATT and forgot to flash kernel and booted, it displayed a notice on boot that Non-AT&T software is detected, and didn't boot...
I also tested to flash i9505 Modem on i337 and it/ i.e. odin displayed notice, of a failure due to knox [sic] rejecting it...
I booted into recovery manually flashed i337 kernel and it successfully booted without any brick.

So I am new to GSM phones anyway but I just got an AT&T GSIII and I am using it on T-Mobile. I am a Sprint user initially (rooted Gnexus) and testing T-Mobile in an area I frequent to compare if it is worth switching.
My questions is I am already downloading the root kit and ready to run a ROM but should I use a T-Mobile Rom or an AT&T Rom. Also not sure if I should be asking this in the T-Mobile general section. Any advice would be great.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
If its an ATT phone it should have an ATT ROM. (I've never tried any other carries so anyone else correct me if I'm wrong)
Just set your APNs to tmobiles APN and you should be set.

You can use any Rom that states the option for picking tmobile or att in Aroma installer
Also I can verify you can odin a stock T-Mobile tar file onto the i747 and get perfect working 4g and wifi calling.
Flashing strictly t-mobile roms may be another problem.
A few good roms for T-Mobile users on the att i747 @re
Wicked Rom v10
And T-Motion both in att android dev.
Make sure to choose t-mobile as the carrier when u set up aroma install on the i747 if you use tmobile sim..
The reason the roms all works across the t999 @i747 is because the phones are so identical and the build props have been tweaked/edited to create working roms on a completely diff carrier device.

You should have no problems flashing T-Mobile ROMs on there, and you can always flash back to an AT&T rom if it doesn't work.

Wondering if you ever got this done and working with WiFi calling.
I have this funky i747 in a T999 case thing going. I'm running an ATT stockmod ROM on it, but thinking of flashing a T-Mobile ROM on it
This one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501303 - though I've been advised not to flash the modem it says to flash ... last time I did on this phone I lost IMEI ... upside is this time the NVitems data has been backed up). At any rate, I haven't tried it yet. Word is it'll either work or it won't, and I can flash back to the ATT stockmod I'm using if it doesn't. But I'm a little leery of trying it right now.
The reason to do it would be to get wifi calling. Otherwise I like the phone just fine the way it is. That's why I'm reading threads like this. To see what experience others have had.
I flushed with Wicked v10 :

Even though I agree with this, some ROMs in the Verizon and T-Mobile section are universal and some do say sprint. I have heard if you flash another us carrier s3 ROM (NOT THE INTERNATION ONE) ANOTHER US CARRIER, Rom, let's say t mobile ROM on Verizon phone, the worst that happens is data won't work and a bunch of force closes, but won't hard brick since it has the same hardware.
DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT! Just say in what I think I heard. Don't go flashing other carrier ROMs (OR INTERNATION ONES) for no reason.
If the OP says universal and it says compatible with sprint, do it if you feel comfortable. Personally I wouldn't until I know someone else is running it.

I know it's safe to flash because it is a universal rom, and specifically states support for the Sprint variant. I wasn't trying to see if it was safe but rather ask if it was stable since universal Roms tend to work well for the device they work on and not so well for the other supported phones. I appreciate all of your warnings but I already know not to flash stuff from other forums unless specifically made for sph-l710.

Just thought I'd add a quick statement to that. Yes you can flash AT&T roms to our T999. But unless you consider yourself experienced with the S3 model T999, I would just stick with what we already have here. You can't just flash and have them work 100%. Often there are different tweaks or changes that need to be made.
