hey guys
i'm using trip's cm10 rom (011) and i enjoy it really.
but i just want the hybrid bar from PA so bad
i dont want to have another dpi or tablet mode, just the hybrid bar.
is there a way i can include it?
Hmmmm. Try this: flash PA. After cusromizing accounts etc. get into app settings. Set it up to phone mode. Then, try to find interface/SystemUI app. Set the DPI to 220. Reboot and tell if it works.

Wont the DPI 220 break his market? (for some apps unsupported DPI)
i thought more about a flashable zip, because i like trips rom for his active kernel development.
in my opinion PAs hybrid bar is one of his biggest goddies in his rom, so it wouldnt be easy to get him to share it..

No, because PA sets the dpi per application not system-wide, so he's only changing the dpi that SystemUI displays in. The dpi set in build.prop isn't touched so the market works as normal.

So I just tried out SlimBean for the GS3 and it works great. It fixes some of the annoyances I was having with CM9/10.
SlimBean allows the user to change the DPI settings (assuming through the build.prop file). The default value makes everything very small and would be great if all my widgets were justified correctly.
Does anyone know what DPI setting I should use to have the stock look & feel/icon size? From what I can tell the default is 241...
Do it in steps of 2 what i mean first 243 dpi then 245 etc until you found the perfect dpi

I totally agree. You want to take it real slow when editing the DPI. I would make a backup first before even thinking about changing anything like that.
320 is a good one. You can go to developer settings and change it instead of using the build prop editor.
Did a nandroid backup and stepped through a few different DPI settings. Turns out 320 is what I was looking for.
Thanks for the help.

Fwiw, 320 is the default, from the factory setting

under which header is it? I don't see it there.
Easy fix(without messing with build.prop): Definitely nandroid backup first. Then download this app: TexDroider DPI.
Worked wonders for me just now. Everything looks great at 320 dpi. It was previously 220.
Step 1-Install the Xposed Installer from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1574401
Step 2-Download Xposed App Settings.apk and install from this link (http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/mi...ngs.5/viewfile)
Step 3-Launch the Xposed Installer and click on "Install/Update"
Step 4 -Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" tab.
Step 5-Enable the Xposed App Settings by checking the checkbox.
Step 6-Reboot
Done!
When you have everything installed and functional go to menu, settings, rom customizer, device tweaks, lcd density, and change to desired dpi then reboot.
After for reboot everything will look funny as tw doesn't like other dpi's. Open xposed app settings perform the following procedure to calendar, com. sec . phone, Contacts, Google play services, Google play store, browser, clock, and most importantly, Touchwiz Home.
On/off slider to on
Select the app, change the dpi to "240"
Click save and when it prompts you to kill the app select yes.
You should now have a 240 dpi home screen but the notification bar will be 200 or the dpi you choose. All other Apps will run at the dpi you selected and since Google play sees 240 you will still get all your app update notification. I confirmed this by un installing an app I know to have dpi issues in the past (shazam won't install on other random dpi's)
Enjoy

Disappearing apps. That's what happened to me on Slim bean anyways. Maybe it will work different on TW.

probably... havent had any hiccups..
Any change in DPI will bork the play store with any ROM. It you aren't affected it just means the apps you have don't care about DPI. The answer us a modded play store apk. I dont have it, but a simple.Google search will find it for you.

Have changed it but am not on stock
Why dont you make a nandoid backup and try it. I am curious myself. Find ro.sf.lcd_density in build.prop and try changing it to different values. Oh, and post some screenshots if you can
I tried that but then the Google Play goes haywire with compatibility issues and the home screen and app drawer do not cover up the whole screen :crying:
I am running 400 on stock
No issues with play
Some stock apps such as remote ,force closes

You have to use nottach xmod with app setting module so you can choose per app dpi and resolution.

ROM Manager works well. If you want something idiot proof use Density Changer
