install recovery 5.5.0.4 - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm having trouble installing cmw 5.5.0.4, already tried with xparts, FlashTool, nothing works. Always reboot on system insted recovery. I'm using the stock firmware 587 with root enabled through the method of doomlord. Using stock kernel too. Can someone give me a hand to install? Any idea? thanks

Install v5 then update to v7.
Once v5 installed ad updated tov7 move the recovery.tar to system/bin with permission set

Use root explorer to move and set permissions.

sorry, you can be more specific? instal v5 and update with wich method? thanks for your help.

Look in theme and app arc section for part buy pvyparts and download and install cwm v5 (open app and install cwm in to system) then update via app store to xparts which is v7.
Once updated to v7 look on sd card for xparts folder and move the recovery.tar to the system/bin folder setting the correct permissions as mentioned earlier.
Then you will have a working 5.5.0.4/v7

Go in xParts thread here on XDA and download older version (v5), if it boots then (older CWM) try to update to v7 via Play Store and install CWM 5.5.0.4 again.

Then update app via play store to v7.
Look in sd card for xparts folder then move the recovery.tar to system/bin setting the right permissions check other files in folder for this.
Then you will get a working v7 xparts recovery.

Xperia arc CWM problem?

Guys please help me, I updated to 587 via SUS. Rooted with method lt18kernel/doomlord root kit/lt15 587kernel. Then loaded x-parts v7.. I had problems loading zip package. I removed x-parts and loaded RecoverX for 4.0.. Same problem! I need a fully working version of CWM for Xperia arc !
I think you'll have to reflash the ftf

I think that this is the easy way!!
No need to reinstall ftf.
Just do as mentioned in previous post download v5 cwm from thread, then update app via the play store to v7( xparts) once updated look for the folder xparts on sd card ( use root explorer) then open that folder you will see file called recovery.tar move this file to system/bin setting permissions like this
Top row all checked
Middle just left and right checked( leave middle unchecked)
Bottom left and right checked( leave middle unchecked)
Restart phone and you will have working v7 cwm.
Hope this helps and is clear

If you partition your sdcard your data into sdcard will lost. Try to backup sdcard first

You don't need to install Superuser app as CM11 is already rooted, Uninstall it and install Busybox and then try.

P.S. use only the Gandalf exploit...

hey buddy realy thanx for the help
but i cant reflash cm...
i have to root my device first anyway..
Or there is one more thing that may work.....
First unroot the device using framaroot.... Check the root status using root checker app
Second reboot your device.....
Reroot again using framaroot......
This would help only if the su file in the system folder is corrupted

[SOLVED]Is there a compatible Directory binder for Xperia M(Android.4.3)

Hi, Is there a compatible directory binder for Android 4.3?, I'm trying to move obb game files to external sd card using directory binder from Lucky Patcher 4.3.5 but it does not work. My phone is rooted i rooted it using Towelroot, I also tried to use Folder mount and GL to SD but no luck. Directory binder from lucky patcher works perfectly when my phone is still on 4.1.2. Is there anyway to move obb files to external sdcard?
.

No, you need to unlock your bootloader before you can use cwm/twrp and custom ROMs/Kernels. For the reboot fix for towelroot I read something in a thread in general section.
And Im using linking from Android Tuner, Im on 4.1 but should work on 4.3 (not tested)

Root with Towelroot, then install SuperSU, then install busybox, then connect your phone to pc, run this script and follow the instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53490030&postcount=27
Ok now folder mount works after i applied reboot fix  :good:
please read other thread, try this, no need for installing mounter apps
