You can Odin el29 one click sfhubs, or install the safe kernel from agat version 2.3 and flash back your nandroid if you made one. Its safe with that kernel.
Hey guys haven't been here in a while but I want to flash JB and I'm on the 7-11 version of this rom and would liken know does it have the safe recovery where I can flash other rooms on it or do I have to restore to EL26 first? Thanks
Hey everyone.
Wondering if anyone can shed some light..
I am currently rooted and using CWM for my recovery and AOKP for my ROM...
i found a thread here that has all the STOCK roms and kernals for Samsung S3.
My question is simple really..
When i flash back to the STOCK ROM and STOCK KERNAL.. would i lose my ROOT? and would i also lose Clockwork recovery?
Thanks

If you just use mskip's toolkit from the dev section, you can flash back to a stock rom and if you want/need to, you can also flash root and recovery from his tool as well after flashing back to stock.

Any link to the thread with the stock ROMs? I am no good at searching for this stuff.
I'll post the link when I am at home for the stock ROMs..
These replies kinda confused me lol...
I don't want to use a toolkit..
I just want to flash the .zip ROM and kernel via CWM..if I do that do I loose my root and CWM?
Or do I need this mskip toolkit to accomplish this? Meaning get rid of root and CWM..
Thanks..sorry..just confuses by the responses..

[Q] Possible to backup AT&T OTA jelly bean stock rom phone WITHOUT tripping counter?
I'm on AT&T stock jelly bean rom, rooted, and no other modifications yet. MrRobinson said "On JellyBean versions, flashing a custom recovery will trip your counter no matter the method used". So, is there a way to backup our phones, similar to a Nandroid backup, without using a custom recovery (other than ADB, lol)?

I installed MrRobinsons Jelly Bean rom using Mobile Odin, and just elected NOT to install the recovery partition. As such, my phone still has clockworkmod recovery on it, and since I didn't flash it AFTER JB, it hasn't tripped my counter...

I'd rather not have to flash a ROM, because we're supposed to make a backup before we flash anything lol. And we can't make a backup without a custom recovery. There's some mods that I would like to try, like Kalagas' mixed theme, but I want to do a backup first. I'm not sure how to do a backup without CWM, and I don't want to trip my counter.

I've read you can use Mobile Odin to backup without needed the custom recovery, I'm not sure how but it might be worth investigating if you definitely do not want a custom recovery..
Hi all,
I ran into a strange situation, and I need help.
I was using AOKP JB 4.2.1 on my HOX, but before I flashed it, I made a nandroid backup from my original rooted stock JB, of course.
Two days ago I wanted to use this backup and flash my rooted stock JB again, but CWM gave an error message (md5 is wrong) so I was not able to revert back to this nandroid backup.
I have several nandroid backups, but they are my previous ICS roms. After updateing my stock ICS to stock JB over OTA, my HBOOT changed of course.
Am I able to flash one of my older ICS backups, and then upgrade it again to JB with OTA?
Thanks for your help!
Sure. Remember boot.img!
Sent from my One X
And the stock recovery .....
I did the same thing myself yesterday - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119166
Read Clyde's tutorial in the Development thread.
Get the ICS 2.17 recovery.
Follow the tutorial.
Remember to lock your bootloader before installing the update!
Good luck!
No with a stock backup you do not have to lock the bootloader !
