Vodafone UK OTA Android 4.0.4 & Sense 4.1 now available! - HTC One X

The Voda forum has a post which indicates that the latest update for Android 4.0.4 & Sense 4.1 is 'expected by November 17th'. I have no idea whether this is accurate, but with 02 releasing theirs last week, that sounds extraordinary. I was expecting it this week...

I thought tmobile was bad for 8th October but vodafone have crossed the line with November

Oh my lord, November?
What can take so long ?
Especially when every other provider has it released this/next month.
That takes the biscuit!!
THANK GOD I'm on an unbranded device.

Well I can kiss goodbye to Jelly Bean then, I'm upgrading at the end of December lol.

That must be wrong ... 2-3 months for a minor update?! That would be an epic fail ...

on htcdev.com there is 3.0.8 kernel available for vodafone.
could be a reason for postponing this update?!?!?!

November 17th seems like such a exact date. I could see them saying november or october but not that exact

Well if Vodafone Austria has just released the update, then surely they must be rolling it out across to all regions over the next day or two?!?!?
I cannot believe for one second that this update would be released on November 17th. Jellybean maybe, but not a minor update like this..
I hope it does roll out to the UK soon as i want Sense 4.1 on my phone!

Unless im being thick.. I have been running this update for a few weeks, and I am on Vodafone
Got it OTA a couple weeks ago roughly
Just checked my phone and it definately says sense 4.1

[CRAZY-POLL] Gingerbread Release DAY :D

The update seems still confirmed for the Q2 (April, May, June)
So now we are on june..Why don't bet on the release DAY?
UMAD!1!1
last weekend of june is my guess - 26th
if I remember the Froyo it was on a sunday that it started flooding out, and that's probably the last point of Q2 that they have left.
FroYo for the Desire came out in August last year as I was in the US when it was released so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see 2.3 until then

when did Froyo come out for nexus one though in comparison?
Google says June 2010 but can't find an exact date. Baring in mind the Nexus One/Desire were flagship devices back then it was obvious they'd get the update first. This time the delay might be longer so I reckon Q3 2011
Desire got 2.2 same time as EVO 4G. Evo just got 2.3 -> Desire 10th...

Unbranded Desires will, most likely, get the update before the end of June. Branded Desires won't probably get the update until 2-3 months later. For the 2.2 update, while most phones got the update by August 2010, my Telstra phone didn't get it until November 2010.
Hi guys !
Only one question for now :
My Desire has been rooted and last clockwork recovery installed but when gingerbread ota update will be received, will my phone accept the update even if it is rooted ?
Can't it be "bricked" after that ?
Thanx a lot for sharing your knowledge !

Don't install any ota when rooted as a general rule

I think HTC released Gingerbread in Q3. It is june and HTC can not hear anything from him
Why lot of people are voting for 30 june? Do you mean htc will not release it for this month or that they will wait the last day of the Q2 as they promised?

Official gingerbread update released...apparently! [false alarm]

I have an unbranded device and it says no update available here in Germany. however, according to this page (http://top10.com/mobilephones/news/2011/06/android_2_3_gingerbread_htc_desire_desire_hd_t_mobile/) UK based T-mobile customers can update.
I must say I'm a bit peeved that a carrier update is before an unbranded one - after all thats one of the reasons I bought unbranded!
This update is for the desire hd, and for this phone the rom for unbranded phones is rolled out since beginning of april:
http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-desire-hd-incredible-s-android-2-3-gingerbread-update.html
Remember, you are in htc desire section here.
You are quite right..I was far too eager to see an update for my desire...oh well its time to wait and watch again!

[Q] Desire Z Gingerbread out in other countries but....

Im in london england with an unbranded desire z never rooted...still no 2.3.3 gingerbread update even though its been released on vodafone here and other central european countries...im not really obsessed with htc sense so im not bothered about losing that if i was to root my phone because CM7 looks pretty great...
So my question is (1) what the thoughts on the official gingerbread update whatever country you in?
2) Is it worth waiting for or should i just think about rooting my phone?
Some say the unbranded desire z update might reach UK handsets end of summer.
Dont want to wait that long for a terrible update since there is no root for it at the moment.
(never rooted a phone but willing to take the risk if means better performance)
Thanks.
Virtuous 2.0 is stock gingerbread with many performance enhancements. It's a great rom. It's very smooth and stable.
I think there is temp root exploit for the official GB release. But rooting froyo is a lot simpler and the method is tried and tested. My recommendation is to do it. You won't be disappointed.
If you want to root this is the best guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision

I read around that rom advised by cj but i thought i would wait till the 31st since HTC says an offical update is coming end of june. If that doesn't come through i'll have to brave it out and root.

Just 3 left for 1.29.401.11

I'm guessing that they won't release anything over the long weekend, so if it doesn't drop today we're looking at the end of next week? (I'm on Voda and can live without it, but the flickering is driving me crazy...)
(I know the numbers in the title don't accord with Voda/3 - I'm should have just entitled it 1.29, but wanted to make it clear that I'm referring to .11 and not .07)
Im not expecting Voda to release it any time soon. Bloody Vodafone.

Yeah true, I just hate the fact that everyone has to wait on their respective network provider to test and release the updates on their own software before its released to the public.
I expect that the reports of people 'losing' storage post the update may be slowing down the certification.
I've no problem with them testing updates (it's them who'd have to deal with customers with broken phones) but the lack of information is nuts - they should learn from the Windows update saga that MS had to manage with the upgrade to Mango.
Childishly pressing check for updates around every 10 mins myself - don't know about you guys...
No update in Hong Kong for unbranded devices. We got 1.28 at exactly the same time as UK, 1.29 came very similar, but the second 1.29 hasn't arrived. So don't feel too bad.

I'm guessing you have an unbranded handset from Phones4U or someone, right?
Branded Vodafone Spain here, also waiting to 1.29 I don't mind waiting if they are testing it, but please give us some information!!
I don't have any screen flicker, but I've lost 10gb of space!, I know I can reformat my sd space but it seems pointless until I get the update.
On 3 UK The 1,29 is in testing and they haven't a clue when it's going to be released. Hopefully the end of the week. If not I'm ranting at Three support again.

Re: Just Vodafone UK and 3 left for 1.29.401.11
Vodafone UK and 3 won't get 1.29.401.11 if they are branded, will they? So I'm guessing the OP was talking about the equivalent update?
So was I. Oh sorry, HK versions don't affect you and you're so narrow minded that you can't even see that it's not relevent for an unbranded regional update to come after branded ones?
You're obviously poster of the year with your 1 thanks. Well done.

Looks like later next week now for us, which will mean we get it five weeks after non-branded phones and two weeks after 02 (at best.) Not great, is it Vodafone?
I think, Vodafone had been fast, with the 1.28.
But i still don't understand, why they didn't realese the 1.29 yet.

Cant complain too much as i got a 50% discount on my upgrade, so i suppose im getting 50% of the level of customer service shouldve paid the extra money instead and gone to phones4u

I'm pretty happy with Voda and can live without .11 for a while, although it would be nice to get rid of the flickering. It isn't the end of the world, but it is surprising that they are taking such a long time to sort things and doesn't fill me with confidence.

What's your full version number? I thought all unbranded phones had at least the first 1.29 OTA sent out.
This is getting beyond a joke, now. Voda are generally pretty quick off the blocks, but we are now entering the sixth week since this update emerged and there is still nothing from them. Is this how it's going to be from now on?

OTA Update to version 1.30.401.1 includes camera, Wi-Fi and stability enhancements.

http://www.androidcentral.com/european-htc-10-gets-pre-launch-tune
Ahead of the phone's official European debut later this week, HTC has pushed out the first over-the-air update for the HTC 10. The OTA, weighing in at just under 85MB, brings the phone up to software version 1.30.401.1, while tuning up camera and Wi-Fi performance, and general system stability.

People are talking about the 1.30.401.1, which released recently.
I got the 1.30.709.1 a week back on an Asia region handset.
Bit confused with the overlapping updates. Is it a region thing?

Third set of numbers is the region code. 401 is international (read: Europe). Should be basically the same. One difference would be possibly different radio (different bands, carrier specific stuff)
