I own the Verizon GSIII but thought I would share these around with everyone...
These boot animations will only work with custom Roms/kernels that allow for the use of bootanimation.zip
All flashable .zip's place the bootanimation.zip in data/local
I hope you guys like them...
If you do, give me a "Thanks"

Unfortunately Samsung uses a proprietary boot animation file (bootsamsung.qmg) Stock ROMs won't allow for custom boot animations unless they have been modified. Sorry

Is it safe to delete the TMobile bootanimation zip? I copied the coin bootanimation zip correctly but the TMobile animation still runs on boot...

Yes its safe, I'll post a flashable zip later after I get off work. I also have a few more boot animations that I got from UOT Kitchen, I'll be posting them as well.
Do I NEED to be S-OFF for bootanimations to work? By deleting the TMobile animation I unknowingly got the old Android animation I actually wanted but it would be nice to try a few others out now and then.

Did you try renaming bootanimation.zip and changeing permissions to wr,r,r. Usually works.

Presenting:
A Unofficial Cyanogen(mod) 9 Boot Animation!
This boot animation is meant to be an homage to my favorite ROM. When I saw what was to be the new boot animation for cyanogen(mod) 9 I was somewhat disappointed (and I know that I was not the only one). So I decided to take an afternoon to create my own boot animation.
THIS IS INTENDED FOR PHONES WITH A SCREEN RESOLUTION OF 480x800!
For anyone who does not know, this is how you install a boot animation. This is using the Root Explorer method. I believe a free alternative is called Root Browser:
Browse to /system/media and backup bootanimation.zip to a safe location
Rename this boot animation to bootanimation.zip
Place the new bootanimation.zip on your SD card
Navigate to where you saved the new bootanimation.zip and copy it
Browse to /system/media and paste the new bootanimation.zip replacing the old one
Here are some images until I can get a video in here:
Render time: 0:50:41
Mirrors:
MediaFire
If you like my work please hit the THANKS button.
Thanks to:
-Cyanogen(mod) team for their great rom
-despotovski01 for his Boot Animation Creator
If any one could make a YouTube video of this animation in action, I would love to give you credit.
This is really cool thanks for sharing

Haha, I know right? Sometimes I wipe dalvik cache just to get to see the whole animation, lol
I'm just seeing this boot ani now, could someone reupload because I'd love it, however the mirror is down.
Forked over from AndroidForums.com
All credit goes to TheRoosevelt
I just provide for our MDPI device by resizing.
Should work with any MDPI device
Just flash in Recovery
It is landscaped though. If it's vertical, like below, it'll look bad
Obligatory "I take no responsibility for any damage to your phone" but there's a 99.99% chance that everything will be fine

Ohhhh that's why! You're running cm9 and the bootanimation file in the zip is for stock and cm7! Just extract the zip and copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media or /data/local

Actually, no custom bootanimation works on cm9. Tried to push 2 different bootanimation.zips into system/media and only get black screen on boot.

Is there anyway to make it move faster back and forth across the screen?
Thanks for your hard work!!
Hi, my firmware (2.3.6 UHKL1 from Doky) came with a company boot animation and i want to install the original samsung boot animation of Galaxy Y. I only found a thread about installing custom boot animations, but i want the original one.
I don't know how to do it, help
Sorry for my english and thank you in advance.
A company boot animation??!! What does the logo in animation say?
If you hav an nandroid backup then extract the bootanimation there and replace it with the one in your stock rom. Or you could just install a new stock rom

Save me! xD
Try doing data wipe from cwm..try installing a custom rom.... Report that firmware to doky...... Try using system update in settings.... Last option is to ask someone for the media files present in the root.. I cant provide u d files cuz i m usin a custom rom rite nw...

Thanks, but that bootanimation is bigger than the one i need =(... searching on the internet i realise that i only need these files:
With Rootexplorer on Android 2.3.6:
1) in \System\Media\ bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg
2) in \System\Media\Video\Shutdown\ shutdown.qmg
3) in \System\ Etc\PowerOn.wav. (or poweron.ogg)
4) in \System\Media\Audio\ui\ shutdown.ogg.
5) in \System\Bin\ bootanimation and samsungani
With that i can have stock bootanimation and shutdown animation.
Thank you all!!

Dandelion lwp:
INSTALLATION:
NEXUS:
-make a copy of your LiveWallpapers.apk if you want to turn back
-go recovery and flash the zip
DANDELION:
-just install the apk(if your phone recognize the app as a fake/demo application don't worry and apply wallpaper)
DOWNLOADS:
NEXUS:
flashable zip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qbrz4bi8lbdiepx/SpaceNexusLWP%28SpadaBoss%29.zip?m
DANDELION:
1)https://www.dropbox.com/s/2bcpebyy0w7ut0a/DanDelion_signed.apk?m <--with jellybean background
2)https://www.dropbox.com/s/hwol9pwcpcbteo7/NexusDanedelion_signed.apk <-- the other
MAKE YOURS:
1)decompyle or simply open with 7-zip(maybe it will work without decompyling) LiveWallpapers.apk(you can use mine from the zip)
2)replace in res\drawable-hdpi the png called pyramid_background(for nexus) or background(for dandelion) with a image that you like(in .png format)
3)compile the apk
4)sign apk
5)place in mine zip and flash through recovery(nexus) or push apk to your phone and install(not in system\app or it won't work)
if you like you can share your modded live wallpapers and i will upload first post with your screens and download links(if you want)
If you like my works and you want to support me, you can buy one of my themes on the google play
