Alright so I used KFU to root my kindle to android market then I used TWRP to install CyanogenMod 7. Everything was fine tell I wanted to restore to stock. I downloaded the Kindle Fire 6.3 installed it then my kindle rebooted. After this happened, everytime it comes on dimly lit then goes to the brightest setting then goes back to dim brightness all while remaining on the standard kindle fire load screen. The letter animation stops shortly after it goes back to dim brightness. On my computer it no longer shows up under my computer but in device manager it is called a Amazon kindle under disk drives with 0 mb of space. On KFU I can get it to show up ADB online but status is Unkown. After I try to change boot mode (normal, fastboot, and recovery) or try and install any of it the kindle turns out comes back on for 4 to 6 seconds then shuts off comes back on and freezes. Also before changing boot mode any one I click it says is no longer on the device. I have also tryed KF unbrick with no help ether.
Does anyone know how to fix this pleas and think you.

One of two things has probably happened here. Either you did not use the factory reset to delete the /data partition prior to flashing the stock software or the system software is damaged or missing from the /system partition. If at all possible, you will have to try to put your KF into fastboot mode using adb. Unfortunately, the odds are against you and my guess is any "adb shell" command will fail. Temporary fastboot through the bootloader is also a non-starter because you have the stock bootloader installed. That leaves the factory cable or opening the back cover as your last two options. The details are spelled out here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159
I suggest you get the factory cable, reflash TWRP, and try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, wipe the system partition as well, unmount all partitions and try flashing the stock software again.

Just to state this out i am a noob with a kindle fire i rooted with kfu 0.9.5.
my kindle is now stuck on the kindle fire logo, so let me explain from the start of how this predicament happened.
1: my kindle somehow isn't showing the books it had after a few days of using the root.
2: i tried to reset it to factory normal by using the factory reset function in the device menu, kindle still has root.
3: after i did that, the fire logo appeared and now, instead of going to kindle fire lockscreen, it goes to twrp interface.
4: at this point, being the noob i am, i use the factory restore in the twrp wipe menu, then i also wiped the system, which i think was a bad idea.
5: i went to amazon customer support, and they couldn't do anything for me.
6: i went online to this forum, which i learned of the unbricking method, and i followed the direction of king_xerxes:All you need to do is have the KFU opened to change to normal boot and at the screen where it is waiting on the device. Have your KF connected to your computer, and turned off. While you are "waiting on device" turn on the KF and it willl see it and send the command, but it will only see it for a few seconds and then you will need to reboot the KF after it has sent the command."
7: now, after it rebooted and the fire and teamwin logo came up and went, it went to the kindle fire, and it stayed there.
so, as of right now, it on there, plugged into my computer and charging, stuck on the kindle fire logo. All i want to do now is just unroot it, get my e-books back, and then i'll go from there. so, if possible, can anyone help me?
Yeah here's where you messed up you wiped system leaving your kindle without a system to boot from I believe. Here is my best suggestion but this is just to get you goin mount your SD card in twrp if you can get there. Connect your kindle to computer access your SD card contents move this to your SD card but don't put it in a folder http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 then hit the home button on the top right of twrp even though you have wiped it to death do factory/data wipe, cache, and dalvik hit the home button again this time hit install, find the rom file in the list, tap to select, then hit install flash gapps if necessary . Let it do its thing when finished hit reboot select system. Initial boot will take a bit give it time when done set up your account data hopefully. This is just temporary till you decide what to do next good luck.

Download the update.bin file in the link below AND CHANGE THE .BIN FILE EXTENSION TO A .ZIP BY RENAMING IT TO UPDATE.ZIP! YOU MUST DO THIS!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620
Transfer the .zip onto the root folder of your /sdcard folder on your kindle
In TWRP, flash the update.zip to go completely back to stock. No root, FireFireFire, or TWRP. Its like a factory reset

Thanks shravbits just don't accidentally rename it update zip.zip twrp will not like it

oh, i forgot, the kindle doesn't appear on the computer either, but weirdly when i plug it in to the computer, it makes that noise when something is connected to it. so now what do i do?
Did you mount it in TWRP? You might have to reinstall drivers..

The computer already has the necessary drivers to mount partitions in TWRP. They're the same drivers the computer uses to mount thumb drives and external media, and they're separate from the Kindle USB/adb drivers.
so,exactly, what do i have to do now?
Boot into TWRP
Mount > mount sdcard > Mount USB storage
Transfer file from computer to sdcard
but what i'm saying is that even in twrp, it won't appear on my computer as anything.
Ignore my last post, i found out why, it turns out i was missing the composite abd interface, now to try what the earlier posts told me to do.
its working!!!!!!! thank you to those who helped!!!!!
also, another question, what is the root status of it now? i used the Update.zip method and when i looked on kfu, it said it was still had the boot status:4000,
so is it still rooted?

The boot status is just whether it is in fastboot mode or regular. Your kindle should still be rooted don't worry about it.
so, to unroot it, i need to unbrick it?

Technically your Kindle isn't bricked. It's doing what it's been told to do, boot into fastboot mode. All you have to do is change the boot mode and it will work normally. There's no need to unroot unless you absolutely want to.
Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23747567
It will tell you more about the different bootmodes. I suggest reading the whole thing to get a good idea of what's going on.

[Edit:] Rooting has nothing to do with how your books show up. That was an update that caused it. Blame Amazon
I have had a Kindle Fire since they day they came out. I immediately disliked the stock Rom so I ran the kindle fire utility and installed Fire Fire Fire and TWRP, rooted it, and installed CM7 Rom which has been working great. Transferred files and programs between my PC and Kindle with no issue for months. Now with all the ICS roms available and working I decided to try and upgrade to one of those and thats when everything went wrong. Its in a bootloop and the triangle appears, fades, lights up again and immediately boots to TWRP. I have flashed the entire kindle using TWRP trying to get everything off of it. Upon plugging it into my PC BRIEFLY when the triangle logo pops up I get a "USB device not recognized" on my PC. I have tried using KFUtility to reinstall drivers, tried uninstalling n reinstalling drivers but the same thing happens. I cannot use TWRP to mount at all, nothing happens. Kindle Fire UTility keeps saying adb offline, CMD adb devices also results in 0 devices found. I have tried putting it on normal boot using both ADB and KFUtility and it says "wait for device" and nothing ever happens. Any idea? Not even sure if I have a rom installed on my kindle anymore but my PC wontread it so I cannot push another image to it. Got a plane trip on Saturday and would love to have this working to kill the bordom lol. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like your bootmode is set to recovery. An easy way to fix this is download FFF1.4 to your computer and use the mount function in recovery to place it on your sdcard.
Flash it in recovery as you would a rom except don't wipe anything. When you reboot, hold the power button like you're trying to enter recovery and you'll be given the option to reset the bootmode.
Thank you so much for your advice but there in lies the problem. Inside the recovery console i choose to mount it and nothing happens. My PC will not let me access the kindle in anyway at all, either mounting the SD Card or via ADB/KFUtility.

Generally, the only thing that would prevent adb/kfu from communicating with the device is the drivers. Make sure they're installed properly. You may have to uninstall them (delete if applicable) and reinstall them.
Follow the instructions in this guide to install and verify your drivers.

K heres the latest (we r making progress!)
I got my device to be detected by my PC and used KFutility to change it to normal boot. Now instead of booting into recovery everytime it boots normally.... to a black screen (guessing my rom is shot or I deleted it while playing with it). The issue is the ONLY time my PC recognizes my kindle is for a .5 second period when i first turn my KF on and the yellow triangle appears. I can use this window to change it to normal bootmode, reinstall TeamWin, stuff like that, but i cannot mount it so I can transfer or adb so I can push. You can watch device manager and it'll pop up ADB android phone or whatever it should but poof, a second later gone.

Get your device drivers working so you can use adb. Follow the instructions in the post below...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26144447
That is excellent advice and I wish it would work but I cannot pull up ADB once in TeamWin. Keeps saying no devices. As i said my PC detects it and ADB will detect it for .5 seconds on the orange triangle. Once the orange triangle disappears and it either boots to blackness or boots to TeamWin ADB stops recognizing my device. But I will play around with your suggestions once I get off work and let you know what i find out. Thanks again for everyones support.
Frozen screen during rooting
Hi,
I am new to the forum. I have a kF screen stuck (where it says 'kindle fire') while I was trying to root it. I tried hard reset, charging for half hour, calling AMAZON...nothing works. The screen goes off if I hold it for 20 seconds but when I put it back on same thing. I was trying to root it with 'fastboot (?). Is there anything at all I can do? Thanks.

Don't hijack the threads please. If you have a problem or question, post it in the Q&A section.
Okay so I had TWRP and I was going to flash a different Rom. However I accidentally while not looking managed to wipe EVERYTHING, including my old Kindle OS (I reformatted it back to stock OS for some reason before I was going to flash another rom). I deleted everything, system, SD data, cache and delvec. Factory reset and whatever else was there, I didn't think it would do anything, there were no warnings. Now I believe my kindle is completely bricked for good and it makes me wanna cry
So far when I turn it on, it shows the original Kindle Fire screen and flashes to black quickly like it's rerunning the animation every 15 or so seconds. I'm afraid to keep it on and continue anything due to the battery last I saw was 30 person and the charging is already messing up on it.
If I could get it to connect to my computer I could reinstall TWRP and manae to flash it to whatever I want but when connecting it doesn't pick up and TWRP won't reconize it either. I've tried to use JDK or whatever it's called to ADB or something (you computer people get me!) and it gives me the error - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed. No such file or directory.
I'm not sure what I'm doing either, I've been watching a video on youtube and cannot get any farther in it due to this error.
Please, someone help me I'll worship you, I am completely lonesome without my Kindle
exec '/system/bin/sh' failed. No such file or directory
If you have FireFireFire installed (blue & white Kindle Fire logo) that error is not much of a problem. If it is not installed, however, you will need a factory cable.
Try to run Kindle Fire Utility 0.99 first and wait for KF reboot
ADB is also nightmare for me since my PC recently never recognizes my Fire in adb mode (always failed with KF tool .096 and 0.99). Therefore my TWRP version was stacked with 2.2.2.6 version for a long time, and the method to update it through the soft in Google Play store was also failed. However, I accidently find a good way to update TWRP to 2.6 versions by run KF tool and select Install TWRP. Then with the KF still connect to PC, I restart it and it take a seconds to install latest TWRP while my Fire still in boot status (blue Kindle Fire logo)

Okay! I ordered a cable off ebay and it just got here today, please tell me what to do I feel like you guys can help me unbrick it.
Well I have fooled around with this Kindle Fire for awhile and seem to be at a road block.
It is my wife's who stated she left it alone for a week or two, came back to turn it on and it locks up at the stock KF logo screen.
From what I have gathered that means the OS is toast.
Tried to get the KFU tool to work untill I found out that it needs to be forced into 'fastboot' to receive commands. So I built a debug cable and forced it. I then ran KFU to install twrp, said it installed and was rebooting. I had to force reboot the KF and then ran a KFU perm root script, rebooted.
Now I get to the white/blue kf logo and boot options for twrp, yet when it boots it hangs on the Teamwin logo screen.
Is this a boot loader malfunction that will require the shorting method to force USB rom loading? Or am I just missing something like a regular noob?
Thanks

First off, have you considered installing TWRP manually? You may want to check the md5 of the recovery.img before installing though.
Hi there,
All was going well with my Fire HD 8.9, I rooted it, had the 2nd bootloader installed and was trying to install CM 11 before I got an error message saying that the jem version was the one I needed. I couldn't get my computer to recognise the the Kindle whilst in TWRP, so thought that I'd have to restore from the backup I made (of the stock Kindle OS and settings) to be able to transfer the version of CM that I needed. The backup seemed to work, but it hasn't in fact.
I turn on the Kindle and it gets stuck at the very first image of the logo, with NO animation
I'm unable to get back into TWRP
I can turn the kindle on and off but that's it
I can't use any recovery programs because my PC doesn't recognise the Kindle
I uninstalled and reinstalled the adb drivers, but when I connect the Kindle, my PC plays the 'Device Connected' then 'Device disconnected' sounds in quick succession, making the installation of any drivers fail
It's as though there's a brief second or two when USB works on the Kindle in terms of my PC knowing something is there, but then the USB disconnect noise plays
I only got it a day ago (managed to mess it up very quickly somehow!), so I could always try returning it if needs be, but hopefully that won't be necessary. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
EDIT - I can get the device to come up with fastboot mode and then the computer recognises it as an Adb device, but don't know where to go from there.
I would try to fix it from recovery if possible, it is way easier than having to do the process over again. You do know how to get it back into recovery right? Hold down volume up right after you power it on, just keep holding it even after kindle logo turns blue until you see the twrp logo. If that doesn't work, I would use kindle fire first aid to restore it and start over, but if you can get it into recovery then you can simply push a ROM onto it via adb.

Thanks for the reply. I actually managed to fix it in the end by using the fast boot command and then connecting the Kindle, then using the SR tool to erase user data and cache, before flashing the boot and recovery imgs (just saying in case anyone googles and this comes up and it might help).
