Guys as i have the OTA update and Wifi problem i took my phone to the htc service center.They told me that it was the software problem and will install a new one but after 2hours they told me that the phone is responding and have to send it to the htc company to repair.Actually my phone is unlocked and CWM is installed.Will they charge for the repair or they will do it free under warranty??

CWM installed ? OTA can never be successful, even RUU will not run properly.
Man, you just don't follow all the guides people here told you.
And yes, HTC will charge you unless you are very lucky if they don't notice the CWM installed.

Hi Guys,
I am having some problem with my reception. So, i am thinking of availing my warranty. So, i am planning to Flash the RUU and try to use my warranty.
But if they say no to it, then i want to root back my Wildfire again.

Hey you're in bangalore... they probably won't update it. Just ask them. not sure what part of b'lore ur from but theres an HTC service center in jayanagar near south end circle. its on google maps.
edit: the reason i say they wont is because they actually arent HTC, they are a third party company who HTC has appointed as the official service people in India.
edit2: also my friend met someone at the store when he was buying his wildfire, who had replaced the case and pretty much all the external stuff cuz he had smashed it... and his wasnt updated.
This is what HTC told me because I am having problems with my phone:
These issues can be resolved in our repair centre.
Booking the phone in for repair means it will come back with the latest possible updates available for that phone, however this also means it will come back restored to factory setting.

After installing custom ROMS, I have problems with battery malfunction. Untill now, I cannot fix it even if I brought a new battery.
I had purchased HTC One X, before I have found that the official ROM is not the best. I would like to try CUSTOM ROMS, but I'm afraid that it will make my mobile phone out of warranty.
However, I heard that after unlocking bootloader, we can lock it again and install an official ROM but the status of the phone will show " re-lock " instead of lock.
That means someone will know that I used to unlock it.
What do you think about this? Can I do it and also make it restore as untouched when my phone need fixing?

Your phone will still be in warranty in case of any hardware defects however should you break your phone as a result of flashing firmware then HTC will not assist you.
Yes, I believe that ANY rooting (and therefore ROM changes) voids the warranty of ANY phone however there are ways of unrooting your phone so that it appears completely unrooted.

However if you use a program such as superoneclick, ginerbreak, etc then an unroot feature is often included.
I believe that these methods don't leave an obvious trace, thus allowing a warranty claim to be made.

That means if something wrong to my phone such as the screen is broken, I can still claim it, right?
If it is, I will begin to unlock my phone and install other ROM doubtlessly.

I had to send my HOX back to the shop because of a dodgy touchscreen. Of course, I had already installed ARHD so I was faced with the same issue. I reinstalled the proper RUU and relocked my bootloader. The shop accepted my RMA after finding the defect and told me that they had sent the phone to the HTC Service Center. So as of now the phone is wherever that is awaiting repair. The jury is still out as to whether they will investigate if the bootloader is relocked. I don't think it will be an issue, but I will report back as soon as I get word!

HTC will still honor warranty claims even if your phone was unlocked via HTCdev. The lcd on my One X decided that it would display the screen whenever it wanted to and not when I did. I called HTC and opened a ticket, shipped it to them, paid their slightly frustrating $20 USD handling fee, and now it's in repair with nothing else I need to pay.
This is with a unbranded HTCdev unlocked phone that had at least 4 different ROMs flashed as well as 2 kernels.
As far as your question of dodging the RE-LOCKED screen:
Until someone finds a way to S-OFF, we're stuck with it. But believe me that RE-LOCKED looks a whole lot better in HTC's eyes than TAMPERED.
If all you want to do is flash ROMs, just do it the HTC provided way.
Unless you manage to fry your phone by overclocking to 2.5ghz or overvolting, you'll be fine if the phone breaks.

Just an update. I just received an email in which I was informed that my HOX has been repaired/replaced (I wonder which it is?). So either they didn't check the bootloader (or any secret log files of what has been installed) or they just didn't care. It would seem to have gone well...
Hello everybody, i am new in htc rooting and customizing and seems a little harder than it was on my last phone(Samsung Galaxy S). For now i don't want to instal any custom rom i just want to root my device to be able to boost it in games and enjoy it a little more, my stock rom seems to work great for me and the batery life is good.

I want to know if once rooted i can still do oficial updates and in case i need to send it for warranty if i can un root and relock the bootloader. I know that when you unlock your bootloader u will lose all your apps and my question is , i will lose the providers preinstalled apps to? i kinda need them.
i read a lot of forums that said hox's have wifi problems, sometimes the wifi icons disapears and apears back after a second or two, it never bothered me but if it is a problem i want to know and send it for repair or replace. It is the same problem that many hox users refers to ?
Another question, if i install a custom room and don't like it i can return back exactly on the same stock rom i was before?

Well you must unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery then do a NANDROID BACKUP and copy it to a safe place. after that push the SU.zip (root) file to the phone via the custom recovery and the rom will be rooted.
You can officially update with an unlocked bootloader and root also causes no conflict. When you decide to change the original rom as in removing system apps and other stuff then you are no longer able to update officially. That's why you need the nandroid backup, with that you can always return to full stock ! Except for the bootloader, once you unlock it, it can't go back to locked state but it will show relock.... Warranty could be voided in some cases (read most) if you have trouble or defects with the phone !!!
Ow and about the provider preinstalled apps, they will stay no matter what. They are part of the original rom.
And yes hasoons toolkit works fine.

Hmm difficult to say, i noticed it sometimes with my device too, when i turn the phone on it pops up instantly but it never troubled me and the connection was directly established. I own the device now almost 8 months ....
Then i supose its ok, i want to be 100% sure that nothing is wrong with my phone before rooting because is risky and i might not be able to send for warranty. I think that the wifi problem is due to the "Power saver" because it has the option "put to sleep data connection when scrren is off" it might be a bug and turns off the wifi even when the screen is on, or that option only refer to mobile data?

No power saver mode counts also for WiFi profiles
I cant get my bootloader unlocked. HTCDev says:

Finaly managed to unlock the bootloader and to root it, but i bumped in another problem that i hoped it will end once i root. Games have very low framerate, shadowgun 28-31, Gta VC 15-20, even temple run 40-54. I tried using setcpu and the app(gaming boost) but still no change in framerate.Any solutions? Or somebody knows what is the issue, why so many hox works great and mine have problems managing a game like temple run or subway surf.

Hi, my HTC one M8 eye isn't working for about one week now because I installed a wrong ROM on it. I tried many methods to get it back working but all have failed. I messaged HTC service center in my country and they said they can't support it even if I pay, since it was damaged in a non technical way. So I sent it to a guy in a Mobile repair shop and after two days he said, something is preventing any flash ROM from being installed and that he has to use the box method to remove the cid and make the phone accept any custom ROM. Now, I don't understand what was he talking about and I fear this would lead to more damage. What shall I do?

The tech guy is referring to the dedicated boxes used to unlock ,flash or repair mobile phones.it should be safe as long as the guy knows what he is doing.But I doubt there's a box that could change CID without the phone being s-off.
Flashing a wrong rom should only result to a soft brick.As long as you can boot to fastboot you practically can fix it with official methods like relocking the bootloader and restore with RUU.
or flash twrp and install a custom rom.
Yer im pretty sure they cant change CID without S-Off, i was looking at buying the Xtc2 clip. very similar, but doesnt change cid, and as already said, soft brick=easy to fix, i fear he may be trying the old garage mechanic routine, go in with a flat tyre, come out with a new engine lol.

At this time there is none. There likely will never be permanent root for this device, either. Best hope is for a future update of KingRoot to come that gives a very buggy temp-root.

i rooted the SM-N910A NOTE4 using root king and it said root successful then after reboot it bricked itself anda screen came out saying warning at&t has detected ilegal custom software on your device please turn of your device and head to the nearest at&t support center. Honestly you have two choices from what i understand There is 2 U.S. carriers that put what they call a boot lock on their device bootloaders. there is a way to remove the boot lock. google it or ask XDA to assist you . GOOD LUCK. Me personally posted many threads requesting help being that im a noobie and dont know jack sh... about unlocking rooting anything and nobody ever bothered to help me or maybe they just too busy devoloping what ever the case was i had my phone for atleast 2 weeks and i did research during that whole time in different forums like android central etc. and finally figured how to do it. For get about going to AT&T they will tell you your warranty is void and that your phone is permanantly hard bricked and all they do is lie to you so you can purchase a new device. I finally restored my device by installing official firmware that you can download free from sammobil.com via odin 3.10.6 they will give you a complete guide. and the correct download links for the proper tools needed to complete the job NOTE: this worked for me its not a hundred percent sure that it will work for you. Please note and understand that you can do this at YOUR OWNE RISK I will not take responsibility for any damage that you may do to your device by using this method and there is a possibility if you dont do it right you can hard brick your phone PERMANENTLY!!!!!!! proceed at your owne risk if you try to blame me for damages to your phone i will laugh at you HARD!!!

forgot to tell you the two U.S. carriers that put locks on their bootloaders is AT&T and VERIZON so i wouldnt recommend root unless you unlock bootloader or else your phone will continueously stay in boot mode without letting you exit. that i believe is a bootloop good luck

You CANNOT unlock our bootloader and DO NOT ask XDA. Googling it will not result in anything useful either.
Our bootloader is still not able to be unlocked and thus Googling for an answer will only bring up scams, false information, or just no results.

Not sure if you're referring to unlocking the bootloader still or about fixing the soft brick caused by Kingroot. Either way, the reason why no one answered you here on XDA is because both questions are asked at least every other week by people who either can't use the search function or just don't even try to. We here in the XDA community are more than happy to help noobs, but if we see the EXACT same questions being asked over and over again, then we will begin to ignore them since the answers are readily available already.

Yes, for our phones- since there is no possibility to root and thus no risk of doing very serious software damage- Odin is usually the cure-all for most problems. You can find the latest available Odin file in our phone's thread, and use Google to find tutorials on how to use Odin itself.

"Our bootloader" ... "our phones" You make it sound as if you're a rep or employee of AT&T. And if so then wth is so wrong with simply allowing people root access to the phones they bought n own? I understand stupid people with powerful tools make powerful stupid mistakes. But smart people who can fix their own few mistakes would still greatly appreciate being allowed to adjust the phone to drastically increase efficency, or at least remove the bloated optimization cap.
Or those who want root so that they can utilize a form of genuine location and privacy protection. To choose whether or not the app they haven't used in weeks still needs to run in the background all the time or still check your location.
Idk... I'll step off my soap box now. Maybe I'll just say screw it and swap the note 4 for another rootable note 3. Since my straight talk phone service is reliant on the AT&T tower near me for any service.

1) That post was made back in 2016. That was over 2 years ago!!! Why did you necro such an old thread? The last post made here was Dec 5, 2016.
2) I no longer have the n910a. Got rid of it a long time ago
3) I do not, nor never have worked for ATT nor am affiliated with them in any way.
4) When I used the word "our" I was referring to the fact that I too owned the n910a. So "our phone" obviously meant "my n910a and everyone else's" and same for the "our bootloader"
5) At the time of my post, root was not available for rhe n910a AT ALL. (If I recall, a temporary root eventually became available though, but it reset everytime you restarted your phone). On a daily basis, people were asking whether root was available or not and people were getting sick of answering the same question over and over again when the answer fould easily be found through a simple search here on XDA.
There were also scams going on at the time BECAUSE this was such a popular topic. Websites claimed to give walkthroughs on how to root your n910a, but all they really did was brick your phone. Kingroot was one of them.
