So apparently I can't comment on the development threads because I'm a newb and it kinda looks like I can't PM anyone either, so I'm stuck going in circles until I make 10 posts so here I am making this thread.
Essentially I want to backup my SMS and I'm stuck in the process because for some reason I cannot get my phone to Interop Unlock. I've got Nokia Interop Unlock installed on my phone, but when I go to Network Setup, it just looks for my network forever and never shows Interop Unlock as enabled or whatever.
Help? D:
inter op
currently there is no inter op for these nokia devices the app you are using was a proof of concept but doesnt acutally work, its the same with lumia 800s only a certain few can run custom rome with the unlocked bootloader, but peeps with nokia dload bootloader are out of luck at the moment

all unlock methods leads to deploying a file to open something on the registry, my question is, how do I really enable the deployment of file, when my phone is locked. I tried the Microsoft Application deployment tool, but it won't deploy the file since its locked.
Any help is appreciated.
By the way, I am running OS Version 7.10.7720.68.
Thank you.
There is no unlock yet for mango. I'm in the same situation. Just gotta wait till something comes out.
Roll back to 7004, Chevron Unlock, Nodo, provxml.. Blah blah, upgrade to Mango.
It's the fastest way for you right now!!
---------- Post added at 03:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:29 PM ----------
I'm just saying... My cousin was on NoDo and wanted to be unlocked and I flashed the 7004 ROM and went from there. (We didnt use his backup, flashing is way faster.) He is now running 7720 with unlock, interop, and provxml.
Alternatively, get an actual developer account ($100, http://create.msdn.com) or, if you have an active student (.EDU) email address, you can get it from http://DreamSpark.com for free.
The last option, ChevronWP7 Labs (expected to cost a "nominal" fee), was announced a few months ago but isn't available yet. :-(
I think there's this new method called "interop" unlock, and by just deploying the file you can unlock the phone.
The instructions from heallthcliff says that by just deploying the .xap file using any deployment tool then it all other doings will be phone based diagnosis app.
I guess the tricky part is how to deploy the file, the remaining tasks is not that hard anymore.
My phone was previously unlocked before going to mango, but once the mango was installed the phone already locked by itself.
le sigh...
Interop-unlock is a superset of dev-unlock. It's not a new method of anything, it's just another level of access. The very concept of it has no meaning without dev-unlock.
The method for achieving interop-unlock requires already having dev-unlock on all phones except LG 9since they have a built-in regeditor). Samsung phones can do it from already being in Mango. HTC phones require that you first roll back to NoDo (before dev-unlock was crippled by removing the capabilities now called interop-unlock) and set the phone up before upgrading again.
my phone is already in Mango and its locked, how do I unlock it? How do I do it on a Samsung Focus?
At this point it would be a good idea to read what the other people have put thoroughly.
There is no way to unlock if you are on mango at this time.
You are going to have to flash back to 7004(Not mango, or NoDo.) and then unlock and build up from there until you are on unlocked mango.
Ok so I just recently switched to WP7 from android. I followed the steps and made my phone developer unlocked but that doesnt seem to be what is called unlocked for wp7. What is needed to get a "fully" unlocked phone with root? Ive seen something called interop unlock? Thanks for the help.

It's not yet possible on the 900. People are working on it.
So ive read. My question is more general, not just for the lumia 900. What are the differences between the unlocks?
Unlock types
Windows phones are locked down so you can only install applications from the marketplace that have been tested and found to behave themselves.
Microsoft wants to encourage application development, so students can register as developers for free, and have a partially unlocked phone that allows them to install 3 homegrown applications.
For $100, one can establish a commercial developer's account with Microsoft, and can then developer unlock your phone, which allows installation of 10 homegrown applications.
If you interop unlock your phone, you can install an unlimited number of homegrown applications. This step is a pre-requisite for Heathcliff74's root unlock, which allows elevation of trusted apps to run with high privileges. This allows powerful but unsafe modifications to be made to your phone.

oh ok thanks for that info, so I myself have a student unlock device, and able to sideload 3 apps on my nokia 900. If and when tools are available for a interope unlock of the nokias 900 will it be in the form of a xap file, or are there still steps to doing so?

It will be in whatever form those who are working to unlock the phone make it available in. Maybe a XAP, Maybe you will have to flash an unlocked rom with the the recovery tools provided by supersport in the dev. section.
There is no telling until its found out how to do this.
Thank you both. That clarifies alot.
is interop unlock for nokia lumia 900 out already?
I have just purchased this phone from straight talk cannot find anything on it alcatel onetouch pixi glory. Any kind of assistance would be nice thank you.
looking in to device now. I have it as well and most searches regardless of using "Alcatel One Touch Pixi Glory A621BL" or any other search variant on name and model usually point to other pixi or Alcatel variants. King Root does not work. Nor does a number of other methods I have tried. Wait and see game at this point
Great. Thats what i have spent the last hour trying to do. UGH
boot loader not only locked but inaccessible via fastboot. all fastboot attempts to enter fastboot mode just reboots the device. some research in to qualcomm msm8909 means this turd has locked the boot loader down simply by crippling it to standard command set that fastboot uses. button combos to enter fastboot just reboot the device. It is highly unlikely this device will ever even see root must less an unlocked boot loader. avoid future alcatel devices as even older devices that had a working boot loader are now getting updates which kick it down. tcl/alcatel is a **** company for going this route.
Same thing with Pixi 4(5) I've tried every methods out there. bootloader doesn't work
Is there any update on rooting these yet? I have tried kingo, srs, oneclick, framaroot, and none of them yet. Hoping this happens soon, thanks.
bootloafer unlocked. still need rooting app that works
If you guys haven't figured it out by now you can access the bootloader by unlocking developer options in your settings. I've had this phone for a year now and I'm still trying to find a way to root it. Is there a rooting app out there that works on this type of phone it's an Alcatel One Touch Pixi Glory A621BL from TracFone
I too have experienced the exact same things none of the rooting software seems to work. I'm now looking for a replacement phone that has 7 and can run apps from sd card
Is this phone impossible to root or is there just a lack of interest in figuring out a way to unlock the bootloader? I love this phone but really miss the freedom I had on previous devices to install certain apps and run different roms. I've never had a device that has been out this long without a root available.
I guess what I'm asking is if I should consider going to a different device if there isn't a way to unlock the bootloader in sight or stick it out because it'll happen in the near future.

So far, no way to root it yet, I am stuck on the Sprint G7 myself and currently fighting with Sprint to allow me to swap to another device. I know it wont work but at least I am voicing my dissatisfaction of this device with the lack of timely updates (still on November security). If I had known now when I went to Sprint back then, I would have never chosen the LG G7. The phone itself is decent, hardware is good but lack of root, lack of bootloader unlock, and lack of timely updates make the device unusable in my opinion.
I personally am hoping I or someone else can find an exploit for ROOT and eventually bootloader but so far, not much traction has been made in that department.
I have a g710pm, running Android 8.0.0
I see in developer options there is a selection that says, "Enable OEM Unlock" wouldn't that unlock the bootloader?

Nope it will not limited fast boot won't let you run the command its basically useless
You can take a look at my post, there are all the models in my country to unlock BL and ROOT, but only in the hands of a few people, they do not intend to share this, and through this to get benefits, they provide remote unlocking and ROOT services , but need to pay, which is expensive for me, I don't know English, sorry, the reply is translated by Google...
Hey everyone! As I had said earlier, the rumors are true, most G7 variants can be bootloader unlocked. I searched many Chinese websites that had already shown rooted G7 phones but showed no clear methods besides "remote unlock services". Now the method is known! The engineering bootloader from a very unique AT&T V35 V35AWM model (abl_a and abl_b) is flashed via an Octoplus box on the G7 when in QDLoader 9008 mode. This guy from Ukraine motogvasyag posted his methods on 4pda.ru and are now on XDA here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/to-unlock-bootloader-root-models-t3928505
Please check out the thread, and do donate if you can. He is doing these Octoplus flashes for free.
**This method won't work on T-Mobile model (G710TM and others). I'll still be on the lookout for any T-Mobile methods.**
Hey,
I have been searching for an answer to this for quite a while, and I've found some information. Before you start bashing me in the comments, I do know that Nokia has disabled unlocking bootloaders on certain devices. My question is, is there 100% no (free) way of unlocking the bootloader on my phone, or just in general to get root. I am running Android 9, and I do have adb (of course).
Thank!
Also interested in this ... Don't want to let someone mess around with my phone .. used to do it myself
Short answer, no. By the looks of it there are currently no free tools, etc.
Long answer, yes but not accessible for us currently. There are ways to gain root access/unlock the bootloader on every device. Currently there are some unpatched exploits (that sometimes cannot even be fixed) in the Linux and Android system that are able to root devices, etc. The last few years showed that Baseband (proprietary Qualcomm code), the RAM (Rowhammer, Rampage) and other device features are attackable. Maybe KingoRoot or someone else might implement these exploits in the following years, and we get a free utility to root devices.

I'm quite new to this rooting stuff, therefore a few stupid questions:
I read that with old security patches, before Aug 2018 (was that still Android Pie?) it was possible to unlock the bootloader. Isn't there some way to downgrade the security patch to a version allowing to unlock?
Is it at all required to unlock the bootloader in order to be able to install LineageOS as provided by this link?
many thanks!
EDIT: Can you recommend any working alternative way to unlock the bootloader?

August 2018 would have been Oreo and YES currently you have to roll back to unlock bootloader. It's a PAID service to have this done. @singhnsk can aid you in doing this service. I as well as many others have used him to unlock our devices. You will have to use Team Viewer and let him remotely do his work.
Good luck!!
And actually, the main question is how to unlock? Bootloaderunlocker.apk dont work, it say me "google service error" help me please

You da Man! I had to try it a few times, but it worked.
Just to clarify point 3.
3. Now turn developer option on again click OK and as soon as you do you will be returned to previous menu. Immediately click "OEM unlocking", it will show a message and ask your password, (if set), and work.
