ADW.Launcher Custom Icons - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I was wondering if there was a tutorial anywhere on this site to create custom icons for adw.launcher, when i install themes not all of the apps i have get the icons themed like the others and it drives my ocd crazy. i tried the search function but couldn't find exactly what i need

You can look through the android themes section as there are plenty of icon sets but most have to be applied individually with desktop visualizer but I know some of the creators have put icon packs in the play store. I believe there are also some tutorials in the theme section as well.

Whats the benefit of installing themes vs skins with 3rd Party Home apps?

I see a ton of skins/themes on the market for aHome and Open Home. Whats the benefit of installing themes via recovery mode vs using a 3rd party Home app to install skins/themes?

As far as ease and stability's sake, hardly none.
Some advantages of the themes via recovery mode are these (someone correct me if I'm wrong on some):
-A theme in aHome or Open Home can't do as many changes systemwide as a normal one can (for example changing icons in the music player app or changing the layout of the unlock screen) since it only has permission to change its own stuff and the notification bar.
-Themes from xda are more plentiful since not all of them are snagged and brought to the market.
-Anything new that comes out in theming is going to be available here first, and (no offense to the devs at betterandrod, etc. They do a great job) it just will take a while longer for those sorts of changes to be able to propagate into the replacement home apps.
Bottom line: It's far safer to install themes from the market, but here is where the developers can meet and share ideas, and it's bound to throw you some patchy themes, and maybe even a bricked phone or two. It's all a matter of preference.
Well themes from here give you a much more rich experience in my opinion. While skins save you time and are easier to use, i still prefer a theme from xda. I like the little details that really make the g1 shine. There really is no danger of bricking phone, none that i know of anyways. If you know what your doing then there are no worries.
ih why do just 1 ?
Not sure about the others, but with dxTop you could keep your root theme as far as notification bar and app bar went and use the icons wallpaper or optionally app bar from one of the market themes
I was using glossy min for a while with deep blacks icons and it all seems to go well.
The only thing a skin changes is the clock, application launcher, and icons.
A theme is a full theme, including full customization vs just a few little parts.

[Q] MIUI icon background

Launchers of like Touchwiz, iPhone, MIUI and DELL android tablet use those squared backgrounds for the icons on their home screen.
I've searched XDA for a themer/dev who has done this but no luck.
People seem to rather remove the iPhone's icon style but I think it looks nice.
Now I want to achieve this effect on a Sense or non-Sense based ROM without photo shopping every icon.
So is there a way to mod a Standalone Launcher like LauncherPro or ADW to have this icon style?
I'd love to help if any dev wants to give this a shot.
Thanks.
Ah, on second thought, I posted this at the general android forum because I can get more answers there, sorry.
Please delete this thread.
I've posted the thread here instead:

[Q] can i take icons from a theme

i like the hh crayon shin chan theme
but its only for pandahome
and i want to put the icons in launcer pro with bettercut
is there anyway to find the icons
i looked in the pandahome folder on the sd card but its not there
You would have to break into the apk for those.
However, this being a paid app I can not recommend doing this without the developer's permission. Wouldn't be prudent.
Try doing a Google search for those icons and see if you can find them. Maybe get them from here?: http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/ShinChan.shtml

Please tell me what these two themes are..

Looking for these two themes, cant seem to find them..
The icons are what I'm interested in.

I don't think I've seen those before.
Roll Tide
They look like go launcher themes.
It looks like a random launcher pro custom theme. Check for icon packs on Deviantart through the search bar on there site. Launcherpro also has a very nice icon pack on the market and its free if I am not mistaken however the icons are in color.

Nova Launcher Icon Pack question

So I have Nova Launcher and I've been isntalling icon packs like crazy however I'm realizing that many 'icon packs' just download a zip and don't show up in the Nova Launcher 'icon pack' section. Sure I could unzip them, and then use the browse files functionality instead of the icon pack view in Nova Launcher, but that's a pain and not as streamlined as it would be if the zip were recognized as a true icon pack. So my question is how would one go about 'installing' an icon pack that was just recognized as a zip file by the system. Where does nova launcher store it's icon packs? Any ideas? Hopefully I'v explained this correctly lol.
not sure but....ive tried alot and my favorite is def snack pack check it out in the market. very clean and premium look
As far as I know, only APKs will be seen as icon packs.
Zips, unfortunately have to be customized individually...

Thats exactly how it is. If you want to make an icon pack yourself, you'll need eclipse and some additional android stuff. Then you need to get all the activities for your apps you want to create an icon for. Thats how i am doing this actually.. God, this is pain in the ass.. On MIUI it was just as easy as renaming your icon to the apps package name and done.
Btw, there is a howto in the android themes section.

Me too. just posted a question regarding transforming the most beautiful MIUI iconpack i run into to a legit nova launcher pack. the zip is there, but it is not enough.. if you like the pack to be transfromed, comment on it.. here is a link:
