[Q] Voice echoing on AOKP Jelly Bean Build 1? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

My mom calls me from her stock un-rooted Galaxy S III, and I can hear her just fine. However, she says she can barely be hear me, as my voice echoes. I'm not sure where to even start looking for this problem, any help please?

Thats a known issue on aosp roms like cm9 and cm10 some of the devs have work around for the echo, but its not always crystal clear, cm10 is verly new so there might be some echo.

Best Jelly Bean 4.1/.1 ROM So Far

I know a lot of this is subjective but I just wanted to get a feel for the thoughts among us users as to which of the current Jelly Bean ROMs has offered the best overall experience thus far. I've tried Bixie & Jelly Belly so far with the Franco Kernel and both have performed well. I'm thinking about trying Android Revolution out as well.
You're almost there. It's all subjective. If you've tried them out, use the one you like best.
try trinity kernel with those roms..

In my opinion,
The Vicious V1 AOSP 4.1.1 is the best out of all. Full stop. It works on my Verizon GNex the best.
And with JB Bootloader, Official 4.0.4 Radio, everything is perfect.

Here's an oddball question for you guys - I had sworn off rooting my phone for some time, until the Jelly Bean ROM's started popping up. My phone had the 4.02 system and for some reason, would never allow me to install the 4.04 updates (IMM76K) that Verizon was pushing OTA. The phone continued to have the issues associated with pre-4.04 (radio handling, slow screen rotation, typing lag) up until the point I rooted it.
I installed the Vicious V3 Jelly Bean ROM and have been loving the speed and responsiveness, especially with the Google voice searches and speach to text. I am still having radio reception and 3g/4g handoff issues. Do the new Jelly Bean ROMS have the radio updates? Do I need to install the 4.04 radios separately and if so, how do I do it?

In call Sound Quality...?

I'm currently running the touch wiz, Infamous 2.9.1 ICS rom with darkside kernel. I'm not too happy with sound quality during a call. I sound muffled. There is no echo problem. It's just not clear. Would a radio (modem) change help? I'm running Tmo_SGH-T989_UVLE1_radio.zip. DSP doesn't work on touch wiz ics so I can't try that. I also tried turning noise reduction off and on during a call. Are there any steps I can take to make it clearer?
Noboby has any sound improvement tips? Do you all have clear sound? What roms are you using? I've switched roms to jedi mind tricks and it seems like in call is a little clearer. Let get some suggestions for people who may be having problems though.

Dont know what to tell you, for me all ROMS that had call quality issues, I had them to and vise versa. Have you tried going back to stock or GB to see if its still there?
Sent from the pink Unicorn from the Darkside.
usually enabling noise suppression works for most with call quality issues. Different radio might work but doubtful if you get a good signal with the current. How's sound on stock rom?

I'm making due. I reflashed the stock radio and its a little better. Not great. I'm using Jedi rom now. I thought touch wiz Roms were based on the stock rom?

I'm on Jedi v.7 and have crystal clear call clarity.
Maybe it's a hardware defect.

Best CM10 ROM out at the moment?

I'm presently looking for a CM10 Jelly Bean ROM that has the least bugs.I am travelling soon and need a solid ROM so it doesn't give out randomly.
List of AOKP/CM10 JB Links:
1) task650 and Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684.
This one I tried about three weeks ago, was way too buggy. I switched. There`s many more bug releases though, so is this a viable option as an everyday driver?
2) cyanogen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778270
This one so far has worked best for me, but there`s still quite a few bugs that bother me, but I could use it if needed. I just need a stable daily driver.
3) krarvind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865262
I`ve never tried this one, was just released today. Any input on lag, glitches, bugs, etc please let me know.
Firstly, I`d like to thank you for the support. I have have two more questions.
Which Jelly Bean kernel is currently the most stable?
Currently for CM10 there are two kernels released, as far as I know.
The first being again, by Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
The second is the faux123 kernel. This is the one I think I should personally use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785472
Thank you all in advanced, I would really appreciate the help!

I have been very happy with CM10
AOKP is working great for me right now.
I like Ktoonsez and Task rom then.
I apologize if this sounds rude but neither of your answers helped at all. You basically said you like AOKP and CM10. They`re all AOKP and CM10 AFAIK.

You are going to end up with nothing but opinions here. You need to try each and see if they work for you. No one uses their phone exactly the way you do so can't tell you which bugs YOU may find and which ones you can live with. Best ROM threads are bull**** and should not be asked. Read the OPs of each and decide which is best for you!

Not being a ****. Not being rude.
Just putting in my 2 cents.
If you need something 100 percent stable. That is going to perform. And you do not have 100 percent access to a computer or w.e to access with your phone for Odin in case things go haywire. Stock is the best most stable thing out there.
But. Like the above user said. Its all a matter of opinions. No facts. But I would say ktoons AOKP atm for most stable.

what rom do you use?
btw i was in FL last week and went to coco beach.. that place was sweet
They all have small bugs here and there. If you can live with those particular bugs, then all are pretty much daily drivers.
IMO, the CM9 based AOKP by Task/Ktoonsez is 98% bug free.
Biggest issue is flakey vibration when typing. Sometimes it vibrates, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it vibrates softly.
Otherwise it's almost on par with a stock ROM bug-wise. I wish we could get someone to fix the vibration issue. It's an amazing freakin ROM otherwise. Best I've ever used.
And, it's just as fast/smooth as JB with the same (IMO) battery performance when used with Ktoonsez AOSP kernel.
I keep trying CM10 and JB AOKP and keep going back to ICS AOKP. But JB is getting close!
EDIT:
I should mention that I always use 3rd party camera, phone, gallery and SMS apps. So if ICS AOKP has issues with those apps, I don't know about it because I don't use them.

AOKP Rom

I have the AOKP Build 33 ready to go on my phone and was wondering which gapps were preferred and is this the latest and greatest from AOKP? I did google it and this one plus milestone 6 came up but I wasnt sure I wanted the Milestone.
Milestone 6 is the latest Official AOKP released, but it is only ICS link here http://aokp.co/supported-devices/?id=44&device=vivow
Other roms are much better now in comparison and you could get ICS or JB.
Well I like Paranoid however there is a muffled buzz in audio playback through my stereo system and thats where all of my music is. Sooooooo I went back to cm9 like a defeated pup haha and want a new ICS look
The gapps from the pacman thread should be fine. Those are straight from goo.im

You could try the Team Venom rom it is ICS and has Sense4 so it is surely something different for you.
I personally hated the look of the original sense on the phone, I always had W7 Launcher on mine or other launchers just to get out of Original rosie haha. I love the ICS and JB look

Looking for a (complete functional) AOKP ROM for my SG2 Hercules (sgh-t989)

Ok, long story short, I was using (JB-1-Milestone-2012-10-29)(4.2.1) AOKP rom for quite some time on my Hercules.. Everything seemed "Okay" but only no NFC and t-mobile wifi calling, and I can live without that.. So I was using the ROM until I updated to (JB-MR1) edition (4.2.2) and not only is the NFC and wifi calling not working (like I said I don't care) but the damn noise reduction on the call receiver end is horrible (playing with the setting options)
OK, overall I love (JB-MR1 4.2.2) edition.. The layout is at it's best, but at the end of the day, IT IS STILL A CELL PHONE. With that being said, if I can not have a simple cell phone call conversation, the ROM is pointless.
Is there any custom ROM for the Hercules that gives the complete functions, including a working noise reduction?
Thx in advance

Also simply look through the ROMs in the development sections for AOKP, there are not many. But there are a lot of Hybrids.
For the best call quality you'd have to flash a stock ROM or a custom tom based on stock. The latest stock release is jellybean 4.1.2. Aosp roms such as cm pa or aokp are usually hit or miss with some devices although there were reports saying that the curex kernel helped solve that. But with the stock jellybean everyone says they hear me loud and clear unlike when I was using aokp.
