I'm giving my Droid Inc to my mom so she can play angry birds. Also so they cause use the gps.
This will be WIFI only.
I'm currently running redemptive revolution and would like to reflash it to something simpler.
I've been having some issues with rebooting lately and constantly get the "update available message".
I just want something simple that works for her so I don't get calls every day asking about why its not working.
CM7

I am having issues with getting calls...many folks are complaining that when they call me all they get is a message regarding subscriber cannot be found.
Anyone having this issues?
Thanks!
Try the .28 kernel and CM7, has been working sweet!
I have used .28, but for some reason my batt life was not as good, and I lost focus of bluetooth controls. If I am using say pandora, and press next on my bt, it kicks off the next song on my default music player.
I also tried different roms such as virtous, but the lag was driving me nuts. I am trying to load cm7, but I have not successful at loading Recovery 3.0.0.5 yet....
The people that complain say they get a female voice from google...subscriber can't be found...its getting frustrating!!!!
BTW, stock it out of the question...maybe lol

Perhaps....But just to amke sure I am not saying that it's CM6. I am very confident on CM's work, and actually run it almost exclusively.
I was able to flash CM7 #20, thsi seems to have eliminated the issues thus far.
I recently rooted my Evo and put CM7 nightly 12 on it. All was well, I even installed the Savaged Zen kernel. Even better. Just yesterday I updated to CM7 RC2 to give it a shot. Today I went to work and had to drive to a remote area where I don't get service, so I put my Evo in airplane mode to save battery life. (this was after having it overheat while charging, could be a hardware issue) At the end of the day I turned the 3G radio back on and nothing... It connects and disconnects to the tower. It will not send data and it will not place phone calls on the 3G connection (WiFi works). I did a restore back to nightly 12 to see if maybe it was a problem with the OS. Nothing. A few hours ago it began functioning again, but after checking it a few minutes ago I have discovered it is back to no connection. (the signal bars bounce between nothing and full, but never shows the X for no signal) Has anyone else had an issue like this? Should I restore back to sense and unroot to take advantage of my warranty? If this has already been posted before please direct me to the right thread.
I'm having the same problem. I installed Cyanogen RC 2 and had no problem since it came out. I went on vacation to a beach, and during my trip I switched it on to airplane mode since I was in a remote location. After turning it back on, I noticed I can't get the Data Connection to work. The 3g bar doesn't even show up, and after messing with the settings trying to fix the problem I managed to do nothing. I tried using a backup I made from a week past, and encountered the same problem. Then I flashed the newest nightly and still no Data whatsoever. Wifi works fine, and 4g is acting weird but I got it to work a few times. Does this have something to do with sprint?
I think it is the same as the 4G 3G hang. I typically get it while tethering and the phone is normaly quite warm.
So I managed to fix the problem. I ended up flashing Koni's Elite Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
I got an error that said "Error 67 registration failure"
I updated my profile and it was automatically fixed. I'm not aware you can do this on cyanogen stock rom, but I think you can dial a number that will do this for you.
After getting the 3g to work again, I flashed back to the stock cyanogen, and it is still working. So for now im good to go.
I do think is sprint and not the rom because I did a restore to warm z and was still having the same problems. Also my brother's evo was doing the same thing and he doesnt have cm7 on it.
I figured it was something to do with the profile... I restored all the way back to sense and attempted to update profile, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I will try that ROM and see if it does anything. Why can't they just make this easy and allow updating of vital software that allows the radios to work on WiFi or from SDcard? This is dumb.
I tried that ROM and nothing works. Not really sure what to do. I might have to restore to Sense and unroot to take it back... I really want to avoid that if at all possible.
Unrooted my phone and getting a free replacement from Sprint. Still unsure of the problem, seems to work randomly.

I also have the same problem. No 3g data, gps, and 4g is acting weird.
I also had the same registration error number 67. My question is, how do you update your profile?
I was wondering if there was someplace to download the 1.0.2 version as i got 3 cuz it was supposed to be good on battery but it is horrible and it looks like 1.0.2 is the way to go for battery.
Also, if I am coming from 1.0.3 would I have time wipe? I assume not but if guess I should ask anyway. Also, if anyone knows of a better rom for battery, i would look into that as well...
Thanks!
Hi, you can still get version 1.0.2. from the virtuous homepage: Click
I can't answer your question on the need for wiping though.

Could it be that virtuous is not the source of my problems and this is? I didn't update maps but that doesn't seem to be the root of the problem anyway...
I had the very same problem once. Google Maps would always run in the background and killed my battery like crazy (on cm7 at the time). With my setup at the time, it would always load whenever I opened up the stock e-mail client.
Since then I have switched roms a few times and it never came up again.

How is CM7 on battery? Maybe I should just switch to that...
which is a shame because I LOVE g-lite but this battery thing is a bother. It might be g-lite though which is why i'm hesitant to switch. The Maps version on my phone is 5.7 and people say the problem is with 5.8. Others simply say it's because of the phone always polling for the new GB OTA. Others still place the blame just on something else tmobile is doing.
Whatever it is: it sucks.
I'm running CM7 Nightly #52, I don't get any signal, it says No Service, but if I use a different rom it works, but when I restore my nandroid those roms cease to work too, is there a way to get just my contacts and games/apps restored? I have gone to several different places where my mom's Droid Charge gets signal, but it still shows me No Service, as I have said above, I tried many roms (RMK's GingerSense, True Lefty's debloated, SkyRaider Zeus, MIUI, etc.) and so far they work fine, but as soon as I restore my data the com.android.phone crashes, and I still get No Signal, if anyone else has/had this issue, can you tell me how to fix it, or how to just re-install games and apps, as some apps that I had on there were removed from the market and I still had them installed, and some I found on the Internet. Thanks!
So lately my wifi has been having constant issues of not staying connected. I have relashed the kernel and the correct wifi moules several times, wiping everything before flashing. And it will work fine for anywhere from 1-3 days then its all over again. Seriously getting on my nerves. I have tried finding a means to increase the power of the wifi and only found something for the X10, but running that really made my phone go apesh!t and had to fully restore everything.
Long story short, I am just tired of this and i have not heard or seen anything from DoomLord in ages..... I wonder if he has moved on. Dont get me wrong ya'll I really love this kernel and am incredibly grateful to DoomLord for releasing kernels for the CDMA phones.
So my question is, other then DoomKernel what other kernels do people recommend? I am on GB 2.3.3 CDMA. Thank you in advance
EDIT: I have changed the title of this thread.
OK so I flashed the Stock with overclock kernel and everything works great I have no wifi issues. And I have noticed that games are running smoother as well. Most notably the Call of Duty Zombies, which always rebooted plays great now and with no problems.... I even had a weird issue with MC3 every so often where my guy would just start moviing in circles.... all that is no longer doing that... in short I do not know why DoomKernel was causing my phone to freak out as I have been using it for about a year, granted I was using the latest (april 15 2012) kernel for CDMA. Anyways...any ideas why DK would be giving me these issues like this? Also I have attempted to use the X-Parts (formerly CWM Auto Installer) and I dont think its working as whenever I tell the prgroam to take me to the recovery on reboot it does not work...
bump......
What I have done is to manually enter in my IP address etc. That isn't a fix but it works...
