I'm running CM7 Nightly #52, I don't get any signal, it says No Service, but if I use a different rom it works, but when I restore my nandroid those roms cease to work too, is there a way to get just my contacts and games/apps restored? I have gone to several different places where my mom's Droid Charge gets signal, but it still shows me No Service, as I have said above, I tried many roms (RMK's GingerSense, True Lefty's debloated, SkyRaider Zeus, MIUI, etc.) and so far they work fine, but as soon as I restore my data the com.android.phone crashes, and I still get No Signal, if anyone else has/had this issue, can you tell me how to fix it, or how to just re-install games and apps, as some apps that I had on there were removed from the market and I still had them installed, and some I found on the Internet. Thanks!

I'm about to just toss my evo into the wall.
I read lots of threads and tried everything I found but still no go.
I went from stock 2.2 to the new 2.2 root.
From there, made a nand backup and updated to netarchy's kernal and rom.
Everything installed fine except for trying to connect to google to sign in to assign my google account to my phone. It was a 3g issue. I turned on wifi and signed in. Same issue with market. I can pull up the main pages but can't pull up app info page. I have to use wifi instead of 3g.
I found a apn xml file on another thread that everyone said works. It looks the same as the one I backed up before I rooted.
That still didn't work.
I restored my nand and everything worked.
But being the stubborn person that I am and was determined to get it to work, I tried it again, this time I updated the radio and wiimax. Still the same issue.
I went back to my nand and now 3g doesn't work for google/market again.
It works fine for everything else. speedtest shows 1mbps download speeds.
Web browser works fine.
I d/l netarchy's 2.2 rooted stock as well as steelh's 2.2 rooted stock but still the issue with 3g.
Please someone help me before I end up destroying this phone to pieces.
Oh another issue is if I do use wifi, some programs from market shows cannot install. I know the fix is to install from explorer but I can't find the reason why that is. In otherwords, why can't it install from market anymore?
I am having the same problem with market and syncing in 3g. All works in 4g. Stock 2.2 to rooted stock 2.2 a couple of days ago. Help
second thread of this type that has popped up, this just started happening to me today also.
Seems anything google related isn't working over 3g for me.
Wifi works fine.
Have tried several roms, updated radio to newest version (even though i'm pretty sure it was).
Tried ##768# and ##3283# reset.
Ummmmmmm.. Yeah that is about it. 3g signal stays connected and middle to high signal strength at all times. WTF is google doin here.... Glad it isn't just limited to me lol.
Sadly doesn't seem enough people having issues that there is a remedy is there?
I think one of the reasons is because the apn got messed up.
I found a xml file for it from cm6 thread but it didn't fix it.
I posted another thread requesting another one but no one replied to that one.
Another issue I found that seems to be 3g related:
So now my issue with 3g is that I can't get google to sync contacts, calander, email well, google talk times out, market can't pull open pages and now my current location city name.
Crazy ironic thing is that facebook somehow always automatically installs itself.
I keep uninstalling it and it somehow shows up again as version 1.2
A friend suggested I go back to RUU and start completely over.
I d/l 2.2 RUU and still issues with google, man wtf.
I used part 2 of the 2.2 root and still no good with google.
I guess I gonna go to bed with the battery taken out and see if that does anything when I wake up.
So I guess it was an issue with google?
I woke up and it works fine now...
Here's rather strange behaviour I have encountered on my EVO recently.
I have an EVO running with 1X Data + WiFi in India on the Reliance Network. Have been using this for many days with various Eclair builds (official, official rooted, mods etc.) and everything works just fine.
I can use 1x data, I can setup Google accounts, and use any and all services on the handset (like Gmail, Market etc.)
But the moment I switch to any Froyo build (official Froyo, or CM6, or even Fresh EVO), Google sign-ins stop working, and along with it, all related apps like market, Gmail etc..
Data works just fine, I can browse the web, I can install APKs using a third party installer like APKTor or Blapk over both WiFi and 1x, I can even visit Google, Gmail etc. on both WiFi and 1X Data in the browser. But, If I try to add a Google Account to the device, it says "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." every single time, on both 1X and WiFi.
I have tried various different Froyo builds, CM6 etc. with multiple Google app packs, but nothing makes this work on Froyo.
The moment I switch back to Eclair using Nandroid, everything works fine. Back on Froyo, same problem every time.
I've tried factory resets (countless times), I've tried complete wipes and fresh ROM installs, and everything else I could think of, but this is just stranger than anything I've encountered till date.
Can any experts help me out? I know you can...please..
Are you trying to sign-in to your Google Account during the welcome/setup? If so, try skipping through all that, wait for your homescreen to load, then launch the Market and add your account then.
That's the closest I've had to a similar issue, sorry.
I've tried both, skipping the welcome, signing in via settings, via gmail, via market and every other method to bring up the sign-in process, they all have the same problem.
Same problem in my evo
Have you found a fix or a way to work around it??
Regards
Kunwar
OK.. another plea for help!
I flashed MikFroyo 4.5. It was easier than I thought!
I didn't flash a new Kernel though.. I'm sticking with the stock one (for now)
OK.. my new problem is that I can't get MikMarket to work right.
I've found some solutions that I've tried and nothing's really nailing it down for me.
I'm getting a network error from mikmarket, facebook, ymail, twitter, etc..
I am connected to my wifi network and I can't for the life of me find any answers.
Anybody have any ideas??
After more tinkering.. I turned OFF my wi-fi, and began downloading via the sprint airwaves... everything works.
I mean everything! So I'm downloading my apps while it's working then I'll turn on wi-fi after!
If this is a quirk.. I can live with it!
Been also downloading apps from market website..

Do you have any data working at all?! It sounds like you don't. Does the same thing happen if you connect to 3g or 4g, instead of the wifi network you're using? I'm not too familiar with Mik's roms, so I'm not sure if there are any known issues or fixes with it. I'd also update your profile and prl, if you haven't already, althouth that shouldn't affect anything when on wifi anyways, but it's still a good idea after flashing a new rom. Did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom? Try doing a battery pull?
My MikMarket isn't working either...sort of.
It changed the name of the app to "Market" and doesn't have the skin anymore. Just looks like the stock one. But it does function perfectly fine. I don't know what could have cause that though.
my mikmarket is not working either
sometime during dinner my phone gave me a error message. and both facebook and market stopped workin and deleted it. cant seem to get it up and running.
I started installing my apps via market.android.com
I had my wifi on and apps were getting pushed onto my evo. everything worked, and quickly.
I turned off the wifi, and forced 3G mode to do the transferring. It responded and quite fast too.
I tried mikmarket again and it started to work, I downloaded a few apps and then I started to get force closing.
Nothing seemed to want to work, so I put the phone back on the charger, went to bed. next morning.. mikmarket is gone, it's now Market.
Everything looked like it used to in Market.
And.. everything started to work. Market cooperated, wi-fi cooperates with market and internet, and so far everything seems to be meshing together.
I want to say it's because i let it synchronize overnite and everything meshed.
I did do the battery pull, pri/prl updating as well. I dunno if it helped or not.
But I like the MikFroyo and am so glad I took the plunge.. not like I didn't have a choice.. my 2.1 was starting to make life difficult!
I tried cyanogen 7 and it looked awesome! my problem with it was for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get it sync with my gmail contacts.
If I would've been able to find it.. I might've stuck with it..

The market auto-updates. I've heard you can freeze or delete "market updater", but then you don't have whatever new features, fixes, or security enhancements they've pushed out in the new market. Maybe that's ok, maybe not. I'd rather have the latest than have the theme.
I recently rooted my Evo and put CM7 nightly 12 on it. All was well, I even installed the Savaged Zen kernel. Even better. Just yesterday I updated to CM7 RC2 to give it a shot. Today I went to work and had to drive to a remote area where I don't get service, so I put my Evo in airplane mode to save battery life. (this was after having it overheat while charging, could be a hardware issue) At the end of the day I turned the 3G radio back on and nothing... It connects and disconnects to the tower. It will not send data and it will not place phone calls on the 3G connection (WiFi works). I did a restore back to nightly 12 to see if maybe it was a problem with the OS. Nothing. A few hours ago it began functioning again, but after checking it a few minutes ago I have discovered it is back to no connection. (the signal bars bounce between nothing and full, but never shows the X for no signal) Has anyone else had an issue like this? Should I restore back to sense and unroot to take advantage of my warranty? If this has already been posted before please direct me to the right thread.
I'm having the same problem. I installed Cyanogen RC 2 and had no problem since it came out. I went on vacation to a beach, and during my trip I switched it on to airplane mode since I was in a remote location. After turning it back on, I noticed I can't get the Data Connection to work. The 3g bar doesn't even show up, and after messing with the settings trying to fix the problem I managed to do nothing. I tried using a backup I made from a week past, and encountered the same problem. Then I flashed the newest nightly and still no Data whatsoever. Wifi works fine, and 4g is acting weird but I got it to work a few times. Does this have something to do with sprint?
I think it is the same as the 4G 3G hang. I typically get it while tethering and the phone is normaly quite warm.
So I managed to fix the problem. I ended up flashing Koni's Elite Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
I got an error that said "Error 67 registration failure"
I updated my profile and it was automatically fixed. I'm not aware you can do this on cyanogen stock rom, but I think you can dial a number that will do this for you.
After getting the 3g to work again, I flashed back to the stock cyanogen, and it is still working. So for now im good to go.
I do think is sprint and not the rom because I did a restore to warm z and was still having the same problems. Also my brother's evo was doing the same thing and he doesnt have cm7 on it.
I figured it was something to do with the profile... I restored all the way back to sense and attempted to update profile, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I will try that ROM and see if it does anything. Why can't they just make this easy and allow updating of vital software that allows the radios to work on WiFi or from SDcard? This is dumb.
I tried that ROM and nothing works. Not really sure what to do. I might have to restore to Sense and unroot to take it back... I really want to avoid that if at all possible.
Unrooted my phone and getting a free replacement from Sprint. Still unsure of the problem, seems to work randomly.

I also have the same problem. No 3g data, gps, and 4g is acting weird.
I also had the same registration error number 67. My question is, how do you update your profile?
Need some help here. I never usually need help, been modding everything possible on Android for years now. But can't figure this one out, getting worried.
Had my LTE Nexus since launch day. No issues like this before.
Been on all Team Kang AOKP toro ROM updates since release, always on the latest. Stock kernel. Was on build 20 since it came out.
Yesterday at work, had a few bugs from probably not data wiping from build 19, so I wiped it all and re-flashed 20 again. Restored Titanium and started re-setting things up, I believe these are the only things I did. I was at work where I would normally have minimal, but some, service.
Ever since around there, I have not once had a bit of 3G or 4G service. I have not seen the 3G logo for even an instant, only few, gray bars. Wifi works fine of course. It's possible I even lost service before wiping and re-flashing, but I can't recall or didn't notice.
I tried all the usual stuff, wiping everything again, re-flashed AOKP 20, re-flashed other/older ROMs, re-flashed latest radio, restored old Nandroid backups, pulled battery and sim card and put back/rebooted...NOTHING IS WORKING. Also, I have driven through several towns since yesterday so I know it's not a local outage. Also, other people with Verizon phones here have service fine.
I have basically torn the phone down software-wise and nothing has fixed the issue. I still have no service. Each time I re-flash a ROM, it always makes me go on Wifi when it wants me to sign into Google...it never picks up mobile service then or after.
The About>Status screen says:
Network: Verizon Wireless
Signal Strength: shows an actual number reading that changes
Service State: In Service
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile network state: Disconnected
Please suggest things I can try, but I guaranteed I have already tried them. Can't understand or imagine what is causing this, because I did nothing different than I normally do.
Also, I posted this on Rootz as well, and many replies so far. Still no luck though.
If you have an idea I can try, maybe post there instead at this point for me?
Thanks guys in advance.

It seems a radio problem. Try to flash the stock ROM from Google.

Well I did go back to many random earlier, more stock custom ROMs in hopes of a fix, but nothing so far. I am currently back on the stock 4.0.2 ROM that is rooted and deodexed by Bigxie, but I guess I can go all the way back to stock 4.0.1 or 0.2. Will try now.
Went to Verizon and it looks like the sim card swap did it. The girl there was nice and did it without hesitation for me.
She showed me in her computer how under my family account, it wasn't even fully showing my device or something like that. Not sure if it wasn't there at all or if it just didn't show that I had a 4g phone activated on the account...but I'm sure it was related.
Sucks to have to get a swap and still don't know what caused it or if its related to flashing roms, but at least it works! No issues since...
It is possible, but unlikely and no reasonable explanation, that your sim somehow got affected doing all the flashing and stuff.
Sent from my Nexus in Texas.
