I don't know if this is part of my ROM or not (blackbean) but considering it got locked and I don't feel like registering for another site right now I'll throw it out here first.
A long press on the home button brings up a hemisphere with a single shortcut to go to google now. How can I add shortcuts to that? Blackbean has an option to add to the lockscreen version, but it doesn't effect the home button.
In CNA you can change those shortcuts http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839233
Thanks, but I'm not looking to change roms.
Anyone know how to disable it at least? I use a long press on the home button to toggle ScreenFilter. It would be great to add that and an AudioManager profile next to the Google Now shortcut.

Hey guys, I am curious to know if there is a shortcut I can create to open my Notification bar, I am going for a minimalist look and I don't want the bar showing at the top of the screen, however it would be nice to see it at the click of a button from time to time.
I know I can press the Menu button and it will side down, but I was looking for something a little more in keeping with my tidy homescreen. Is it even possible to do that?
*Edit* I worked it out, there is an option in LauncherPro under Bahavior Settings/Home key action. Must have missed that one.
Been on AOSP for a while....
How do I totally disable the lock screen on a Sense ROM?
Any way to wake up phone with volume buttons?
Also... Any way to increase the number of"recent apps" that pop up when I long press home button?
Thanks!
[ Evo / KWIQ-ns / from xda app ]
use an external lock screen like magic locker or GO series
i believe theres a app in the market that does what ur asking for i havent used it in a while u might want to search no lock on the market search bar to see if it finds it still.
As mentioned, No Lock from the market will disable the lockscreen. Once the lockscreen is disabled, the phone will wake with the volume buttons - the lockscreen is what keeps it from waking on anything other than the power button.
As for recent apps, I couldn't tell you. I know there are third party replacements of the recent apps dialog, but I don't know if it's possible to launch them by long-pressing home. I just use an app to open up my app drawer (Alt Drawer) when I long-press the search button. That works well for me, but I don't know if that would meet your specific needs. With Alt Drawer you can sort by "Most Used", but that can make finding a particular recent app difficult. I just sort mine alphabetically, that way I can easily launch any app from anywhere. You could use an app (Quick Launch, Button Shortcut, or another) to open the replacement "recent apps" by long-pressing the search button.
I'm looking for a tool that can assign shortcuts or the likes, by long pressing one of the hardware buttons.
(Like Long pressing home opens recent apps and longpress power button opens shutdown menu.)
I've searched a litte but nothing usefull comes up.
Thanks.
Use this app-Home2 Shortcut from the play store..works well..

Thanks for the input, but it stays up, Taking RAM & Battery. I was looking more for a sort of System edit to make it work, without having an app open all the time.
Else I'd just use swipe opener.
Guys...for the life of me I can't find a setting for this...in Venom Tweaks long press Home is tied to "Menu button" for me, but this is not that...
When I hold home button, I get the hourglass icon on the display...when I run it it opens Audio Control...
What is that shortcut used for and how do I customize it?

Edit, Ah I see what you mean. By default that is Google now. Looks like you set it to seacrh. I am not sure which setting it is to change that.

That's to launch Google Now. By default it goes to Google Now, anyway. Some apps seem to be able to "take over" that gesture. I'm using Screen Lock for that instead of Google Now.
If you want to restore it to default, then you'll have to clear the defaults in the App Manager for that Audio Control app. But there isn't a set way to customize it for other things, as far as I know. Must be the way certain apps are coded...
Thank you very much!!!
I know there is the "buttons" menu in settings and it gives some options for which button does what and button swap but I want more!
Like, long press the back button to kill an app (useful for closing the web browser, for instance, instead of hitting back a billion times or menu - close)
Or adding a menu button since many older apps don't always have a menu option on them anywhere and rely on that button.
I would love to swap the recents button with menu since I generally long press the home button for recents anyways but so far I can't seem to find an option to do so.
Can someone please help point me in the right direction? Thanks!
I just found this thread in search of the same solution. It seems like it's an Android level feature developers choose to include or not. My OnePlus one on 5.1 was the last time I've seen that menu, and I really want it back. It's so annoying to not be able to customize my buttons exactly how I like them, especially since that menu is something that's been in Android for so long. Feels like a step back.
Install All in one gestures app.
Don't be fooled by app's name, it does exactly what you ask and something more.
