Can u Guyz please help me with with this thing , i wud be very thankful to u .
Buy a CDMA-phone. Wether CDMA or GSM depends on hardware which cannot be changed.

Yeah, maybe just re-read what MatDrOiD posted.
Pretty sure he answered correctly.
PS, I want to turn my Honda Accord car into a Ferrari 550 Maranello. Can you tell me how??
Impossible
No you cant do that.design differences is simpliest way to explain why . CDMA phones are not designed with GSM compatibility in mind .even if they use the same hardware, software implementation in itself minimizes any chances of enabling a disabled radio or band to near impossible

The cdma and gsm is hardware related. There also seems to be a cdma only Rom. Best option is to trade on a site like craiglist or kijiji. You could also buy a cdma one somewheree like eBay then sell urs.

GSM radios can't receive CDMA bands. It's impossible.
The only way it could ever work is if the Desire used a universal radio with firmware to control what band it picks up... which it doesn't.

... And even if that is true which it isn't its near impossible you reactivate disabled bands

It can be done quite easily. Buy a CDMA Desire, take out its inner parts and put them into the housing of you GSM Desire. Voila: Your Desire, as you love it, with all its scratches and stuff, now is a CDMA device.
Just a quick FYI guys. If you own an Optus branded HOX you can download 1.29.980.11 ota.
I can't really comment on any fixes yet as my only problem has been WiFi honestly. Will report back once I've used WiFi a little.

Anyone received 4.0.4 update for Optus HOX?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I'm with Virgin here in Australia and recently, i mailed them and asked about their plans to update our phones to Android 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1. Their reply strongly gave me the impression that they didn't even know of an existing update or even what the term "base" means. It makes me glad that i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone so that i wouldn't have to wait for their slow service to catch up.
I'm with virgin but my cid is Optus.
You might have the same meaning Optus will be pushing it.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
So have you heard when they are pushing the update?
No mate. Early September on their site but who knows? I don't even care as 1.29 is running well for me.

Just noticed the internet icon actually. Wonder why they did that? Could they be totally debranding the handsets at some point and returning them to be updatable by HTC?

I believe it was supposed to have at least an easy access button to switch between front and rear cameras... but I can't see it. So, I agree there is little difference in the camera.
I am hoping for the much talked about better battery life.

It's in Settings -> Display, gestures & buttons -> Recent apps button.
On another note does anybody know if the Signal Boost can be ported onto another rom? I too live in a patchy area on T-Orange, I heard about the signal booster so with the update so I went straight back to stock for it! I'll try and see if I can pull it with titanium tomorrow.
Thanks
Hello all,
I bought HTC One V from Taiwan and using it here in India. Today I got a message that an update is available for the system.
As soon as the update download finished, and when I clicked install it showed that the device software have been modified and that it can't update.
It's strange as I never rooted it.
Also my mobile is having a lot of problems with network connectivity. I live in the middle of city but still I guess a cross over the network bars. And if sometimes I do get then only 2 bars out of 5.
Could anyone tell me what is the problem? I am having a feeling that my handset us defective. Maybe I am wrong.
Thank you for reading
Praveer
Root it n install custom Rom,everything ll be fine...
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Well I don't want to root it.
Thanks
Well you are going to have to stick to stock with no updates then. I suggest you open up to rooting, stock roms are junk.
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
So is the problem normal or not. I mean is it common to get that message or no ? Or I have been cheated.
Thanks
I assume its normal but only say that because of all the other phones that do the same thing yours did. Don't feel cheated, while HTC isnt supporting our devices anymore, the fine devs here are.
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
Well let's see what happens. Given the mobile for replacement.
Thanks

IMO, I think HTC devices are better. Every Nokia I have had has been junk. Not sure/don't understand why everyone likes Nokia so much.
My one v is awesome, runs great. Only issue is grip of death signal issues. Are you going for CDMA or gsm?
Also I'm not sure what the Nokia you are looking at is. If its android, check out their development scene. If its slim pickings, you may be stuck on ICS or jb for a long time to come. A few devs for a device go a long way.

I'm either going with Virgin mobile $35/month if I get this or T-mobile $30/month if I get the 620. So a CDMA 1V as It's cheaper for the CDMA model. Does skype on android support rear camera video?
Not sure about Skype, it should work though. I am on the VM 35 a month plan and its great. Signal strength is just as good as my friends with sprint phones.
I do recommend groove IP for internet calling. Its a good alternative to using up cell minutes.

I really like the One V, I really like the build quality and how it grips with one hand. Its not the fastest phone in the market but for the price its well worth it. I use mine more like an mp3 player as I don't pay for service. My only grip is no FFC. To take self portraits look to the nearest mirror and point the camera lens towards you also works for video chat that allow you to use back camera for video chat.
