Quick question, if I use titanium to back up nova launcher, will it safe my desktop icon locations and groups. I find myself doing a ton of flashing, and even more will come once my first nightly builds start finish in my laptop.
I like my layout a very specific way, so hopefully this will work

You can save your layout in nova launcher settings under "backup and import"

Is there any way to make the icons of apps smaller than they are so I can fit more on the homescreen?

Sorry I am a complete noob when it comes to android (long time user of iOS) but when I install them the sizes don't change. They look practically the same

Which one are you using? In ADW: Hit Menu > More > ADWSettings > UI Settings > Screen Preferences. Then you are able to change the number of Desktop Columns and Desktop Rows. The more you have, the smaller the icons will be.
Let me know if you need any more help.
Thanks it worked! Now that's out of the way..does battery get affected by using different launchers?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Nope. It just replaces the default one. "TWLauncher" Have fun changing up your screens like crazy. When I get bored, I just start changing things up and before I know it, a couple of hours are missing...
Haha awesome, thank you!

What needs to be backed up to restore shortcuts and folders on the launcher?
Anyone? Someone said system UI in another thread but that doesn't work.

Bump. This would really be helpful right now when we are all loading up new Roms every day or two.

I believe you can manually backup the homescreen app. And then you would just restore data.

Not seeing a homescreen app.

If you back up the your launcher using titanium when you restore it will restore your folders. I found thus out by accident using one of the modified stock launchers.
The launcher is a system app so will not appear in the batch user backup/restore list. Just click on "filter" and search "launcher"

Earlier today my TW launcher somehow moved the app icon from furthest right to 2nd from right, and after some fiddling on my end, to the middle. I backed up my apps on TB and full phone on TWRP and after reboot the app icon was back to its original spot. Also back on the same spot after restoring my backup, clearing cache, etc. So it seems though that this is plausible.... is anyone able to decipher how to make this permanent to TW?

This and having the app drawer scroll through widgets and apps together like the stock launcher would be nice

Apex
You could always switch to something like Apex Launcher... Much more customizable in those respects.
I actually like touchwiz...I used nova before and the smoothnes just doesn't match with stock.

But this mod would be very nice I'll try to see if I can figure out something
EDIT: There is a way but it's a lot more complicated then it's worth..

You might have to install a different launcher, nova, apex, go launcher ex, then go into the settings of the launcher you choose and select the missed count notification for the apps you want to use

I have customized my home screen and I'm trying to verify if I can backup my hard work on apex pro? Basically I'm wanting to make more custom homescreens where I can flip between them on my nexus 4 . is this even possible? Any help is apreciated

use Titanium Backup and backup your Apex Launcher (app+data), when you restore, desktop icons will be back to original.. great if you freq rom changes..
I guess I should mention I haven't rooted my phone yet. Will that make any difference concerning backup restore in apex? Is titanium functional for unrooted? Thanks for all replies

Apex backup and restore is fine without root. Titanium will not work.
