What needs to be backed up to restore shortcuts and folders on the launcher?
Anyone? Someone said system UI in another thread but that doesn't work.

Bump. This would really be helpful right now when we are all loading up new Roms every day or two.

I believe you can manually backup the homescreen app. And then you would just restore data.

Not seeing a homescreen app.

If you back up the your launcher using titanium when you restore it will restore your folders. I found thus out by accident using one of the modified stock launchers.
The launcher is a system app so will not appear in the batch user backup/restore list. Just click on "filter" and search "launcher"

Quick question, if I use titanium to back up nova launcher, will it safe my desktop icon locations and groups. I find myself doing a ton of flashing, and even more will come once my first nightly builds start finish in my laptop.
I like my layout a very specific way, so hopefully this will work

You can save your layout in nova launcher settings under "backup and import"

Hey guys I'm of course a noob . I have searched as much as I can with no solid answers.
I have customized my home screen and I'm trying to verify if I can backup my hard work on apex pro? Basically I'm wanting to make more custom homescreens where I can flip between them on my nexus 4 . is this even possible? Any help is apreciated

use Titanium Backup and backup your Apex Launcher (app+data), when you restore, desktop icons will be back to original.. great if you freq rom changes..
I guess I should mention I haven't rooted my phone yet. Will that make any difference concerning backup restore in apex? Is titanium functional for unrooted? Thanks for all replies

I don't think you can do this, but maybe try nova launcher prime? It might have that feature...
Sorry but that is for touchwiz onlY
You can download Nova which lets you organize apps into folders in the app drawer.

I have seen this on custom Roms, an option to delete all previously opened apps, is there an app for that? Or is it only found in custom Roms.

In the recent apps widow just drag the ones you want to close off the screen.

There is app "Sense5 Toolbox"
I accidentally uninstalled the stock launcher. Is there a way to reinstall it?
Would a factory reset do?
Would the next update reinstall it?
Many thanks

If you never secondary launcher then you will be in trouble. Because your system cannot launch any thing. If you already installed some thing like Nova launcher then you can install any stock launcher

Actually he can launch apps with GoogleNow, so it is not a big trouble
