Unlock Bootloader is not working - HTC Wildfire S

Whenever I try to use the unlock bootloader (htcdev.com) he told me I had to install the latest version 2.14.161.1.
But I have a newer version, my software number is 2.26.161.1 and even if I search for new updates, I only get the message that my version is already up to date.
I hope someone has an idea. I use a HTC Wildfire S A510e.
Android version: 2.3.5

Just proceed to Step 1............your bootloader is unlockable

I had a similar question and went direct to HTC for an answer. Here's what they said:
Thank you for contacting HTC regarding your HTC Wildfire S.
My name is Jonathan and I am a Technical Support Agent for the HTC Written Team.
I understand that you are looking to unlock the bootloader on your device.
I am sorry but the ROM that is available via our site is for devices on the previous software version and as such is not compatible with your phone. We are working to make further device and software version compatible, but it takes time to produce the relevant ROM for each device.
I would advise that you keep an eye on the HTC Dev site for when the correct ROM will be available so that you are able to unlock the bootloader.

I am running a Wildfire S A510e using Android 2.3.5 and software number 2.26.771.2. The HTC answer was very annoying as I have so much bloatware crap I want removed from my handset and, at the moment, I can't.

[Q] Official Swisscom ROM

Hi everyone,
So I'm here with my S-Offed HTC Desire wondering if someone has or know where to find original ROMs from swiss provider Swisscom.
Cause I'm very happy with my RCMix ROM but I was thinking of the day I would try to sell it and just thought that if I reinstalled an official RUU from HTC, the new owner would have troubles when an OTA update would arrive, because it requires a goldcard and the best would be to have a Swisscom ROM so the phone would run troubleless (even it would remain on poor 2.2 ).
BTW, if the phone remains S-Offed, do we really need a Goldcard, because if it works I could just put an official RUU, remove alpharev's boot screen and it would be ok, OTA updates without troubles (I remember that I tryed once to update when I just changed to official RUU from Swisscom's one and without a Goldcard the phone ran crazy haha).
Thanks
P.S. : If a swisscom's customer comes down here and has tried several Radios, could he or she tell which one seemed to work well with swisscom's network ? I didn't have time to try it seriously
Shipped-roms.com
Search there

There is also an ruu thread on the development section. You might be lucky
Sent from my HTC Desire
Hei,
Swisscom's ruu is the same as Vodafone UK.
So you can use the following ruu : RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28 U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed.exe
Bye,
TS
A huge thanks

BTW how did you find the information? I did some searches but didn't find anything ... Does this Rom come with some vodaphone apps?
I hope this thread can help other Swisscom customers

Because when I got my HTC Desire, there were several vodafone applications that could not be removed.
But, many people complained about that and now the rom is clean.

S-OFF

Any great news for s-off? Everyone saying "HTC will unlock bootloaders" when and is it include wildfire s? Or what about software S-OFF.
Nothing yet.
Oh, 150mb and me we are so happy. HTC must unlock our bootloader..

They have announced that it will become available mid-august and it might cost us the device's warranty...
Yes thats bull**** but what we can do must say bb to warranty for the s-off
S-off does not remove warranty.
Unlocking the bootloader does not. It is when you start flashing custom roms etc when you lose the warranty.
I read some news in Turkey htc bootloader unlock softweare will remove the warranty.

HTC has announced that they will unlock the bootloader of the latest devices that are coming with S-ON....Right now they have only said that their main priority is EVO-3D and Sensation..there is no word about our WS. And yes it will cost us our warranty or Specifically 'SOME' parts of our warranty as i read it on Engadget..they said that we have to accept an agreement which will void warranty. Only when we accept that then we will be able to download the software which will unlock our Bootloader

Cant wait for the unlock. but unfortunately i think that HTC will need to release a seperate software for WS. As we all know WS is just old junk into a new box....anyone knows if alpharev is continuing or has dropped dev for WS?
I think that Alpharev will not support Wildfire S.
They are on Revolutionnary project and our device isn't supported...
XTC Clip is the only solution.

HTC just launched the unlock tool, but at the moment only 1 device is supported, and the unlock tool will probably never support the htc marvel.

Yes it looks from their site that only HTC Sensation (EU) and FOTA 1.45.401.2 are unlockable and all their future models.
I guess we will have to wait longer guys...

You can't do anything with S-on. No root, nothing, just use the phone as stock.

Since it is locked to Vodafone it must be vodafone branded, and if it's carrier branded generally I think it might be 1.01.0002. At least that was the case with my friend, who was 3 branded.

Just wanted to make sure that he will follow the correct instructions for his HBOOT lol - But you're right - obviously - branded = HBOOT 1.01.0002 (if there aren't some exceptions).
To answered your second question, there is no way (currently) to free SIM unlock it.
Try talking to the carrier.

HTC One x s720e bootloader unlock through HTCdev

I have a few questions regarding unlocking the bootloader.
Does it matter what software i have on my phone?
Andriod Version 4.1.1 and Software number 3.20.401.1
I have found many guides such as:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-unlock-htc-one-x-bootloader/
In these guides there is no mention of the software which makes me wonder if it is irrelevant.
Thanks!
