mysid to jelly bean - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

so is this possible? I see many places that show it, but just as many saying it isn't possible because of CMDA..

There's a thread in the general section about a leaked Verizon test build or take your pick from custom ROMs in the Verizon Development forum

yeah i seen those, but none of the google updatable versions?

Official mysid ROMs have to be approved by Verizon even though the update comes from Google

I think you mean ICS to JB in your title, correct? mysid refers to Android builds that run on Verizon devices. Your device's ICS and JB builds are mysid builds.

No one knows if the leaked JB build will have an upgrade path or not. The last leak (IMM30B) did not.

I mean, all the JB build updates I see are for yujku and the like. I see almost none that support the builds for mysid and toro. Even the ones that say they are 4.1 like the HD custom rom only running 4.0.4 So i was trying to get clarification because everywhere I see the JB builds aren't the ones that support CDMA.

[AOSP - NOT OTA] IMM76D 4.0.4 DOWNLOAD for CDMA VZW SGN (Toro)

Here is the CDMA IMM76D 4.0.4 for VZW SGN (Toro) for those of you who can't wait.
I looked around and didn't see this posted yet so I thought Id share.. If the DL link has been already posted then forgive me. I didn't have anything to do with this and take absolutely no credit, all credit should go to Birdman.. Like I say I'm just sharing because I didn't see this floating around XDA.
Its aosp, not the official release.

oIc. =-/ Well it should still be useful. It is still the IMM76D 4.0.4 update, even if it didn't come OTA, right? I hadn't seen it posted here on XDA.. Do I need to clean my glasses?
that are roms build from aosp
u should share this link

here there are also the gsm rom
but nothing from that come out from an official ota anyway (this is a response for the people that will come in this thread asking "these are the ota?" )

I don't know. I built my own, with private keys.
That said, we don't have the updated bootloader or radios that will likely come with IMM76D. The IMM30B stuff may be older than what otas. Not to mention that the closed source gapps, keyboard, calendar and such are from IMM30B.

[Q] Terminology questions

Is there a thread that explains the terminology commonly used around here?
What is toro?
What is maguro?
What is a milestone?
Seems like ROM devs are using this term in place of "stable"?
Where can I find out what the latest available OTA is for the CDMA gnex?

Just out of curiosity, where did you end up getting it from (if you can share that info)?
I just got my phone today and I'm loving it. It shipped with 4.0.2 and I ran a system update check and says its completely up to date. Does the CDMA Gnex not have official OTA's for 4.0.3 and 4.0.4? Do these have to be flashed manually?

There never was any 4.0.3 OTA update for any GN device. 4.0.4 OTA is not yet available for CDMA devices yet, but there is a leak in the thread I linked to above.

Updating a rooted Nexus to 4.1

Hey,
Since Google MAY gonna release 4.1 today. Is there a way to update the firmware to 4.1 without any big problems? Or should I wait for a Nightly release?
Thanks!
I'm kind of confused about your question because there is like three directions you're asking about. First of all, if you're asking if you can update your software to 4.1 as soon as it comes out without any problems, I don't see why not. Google may post their factory images on their site, which you can download and flash via ADB. Google may also just update OTA, in which case we need to wait for a leak, then someone will post it here on XDA. Otherwise you can wait until someone cooks up a clean 4.1 rom, in which case you can flash that straight through your recovery. By "nightly" I think of CyanogenMod, which will likely take a little longer than custom roms, so you're going to have to wait a little if you want a Cyanogen 4.1-based nightly.

If you're stock, just wait for the OTA notification or flash the new stock image/update file when Google posts it.
If you're on a custom ROM wait for their update or return to stock.

depends on how much stock u are
if u used some toolkits, it (or you manually) may have flashed an unsecured boot (kernel) image to give u full root even with adb..so your kernel may be not stock anymore and u need to reflash the stock one
if u got root (only superuser app and su binary) on the stock rom, stock kernel, stock recovery, stock radio and stock bootloader (no matter if locked or unlocked)..then u are ok

The service provider has nothing to do it. Some people are ignorant and have unrealistic expectations of when we'll start seeing the JB updates.

In this case, it does. Updates for mysidpr builds (i.e., builds for toroplus devices used by Sprint) do not come directly from Google, so they will certainly come after updates for yakju/takju and mysid builds...

Sorry Fabio, but as soon as the source code is released from the phone manufacturer, the devs can go to work. We don't have to wait for the provider to release the update. As per example: All three versions of the Optimus LTE (P930, SU640, and 6200) received ICS before the providers approved it. Source code leaks do happen.
If you want an official OTA update, then wait for the provider to approve it. I'm not holding my breath, especially if the device is built for use on an LTE network.

Where can I find original build

I need to return my nexus to where I bought it because it is faulty, but i need to put the original os back on any ideas where I can get it?
the original build number was: Imm76k.i9250xwld2 which is apparently "yakjuxw" running 4.0.1 (i think)
the build number now is JRO03C or yakju running 4.1.1
I have been told that it wont matter if i don't do this, as they are both official builds and they wont know/care. any experience with this?
thanks

Imm76k.i9250xwld2 is not yakjuxw 4.0.1, it is yakjuxw 4.0.4.
You can find a yakjuxw 4.0.1 ROM in the dev section. Once you flash it, you will get updated to yakjuxw 4.0.4 and and possibly yakjuxw 4.1.1.

haha I totally deserve that
I've flashed the software from the link I posted, but the build number is different to what it originally was
it is now: ITL41F.I9250XWKK9 instead of Imm76k.i9250xwld2
do you think this will matter?
EDIT: really confused, cant find Imm76k.i9250xwld2 anywhere but I've noticed "imm76k" is listed on the official google builds here but under "Factory Images "mysid" for Galaxy Nexus "toro" (VZW CDMA/LTE)"
also on this site it is listed at the bottom as "IMM76K shipped on I9250 international devices later in the Galaxy Nexus’ lifecycle. It was never offered as an over-the-air update."
can anyone help me find the build I'm after, or at least tell me if its safe to send it without the exact same build it came with on?

Go from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1 How to??

Hey guys, just bought this phone off craigslist today to upgrade from my LG Revolution. I've used roms with the Revo so I'm not a total stranger. I'm wondering how to upgrade to 4.2.1, my phone doesn't seem to get the OTA update, I downloaded the zip to flash and after I flashed it in CWM it the version didn't change under my system info.
I have the verizon version. thanks!
The OTA isn't out for the Toro, the Verizon version. I think you need to do a little reading before you accidentally damage your new phone flashing something not intended for it.

Google has released the 4.2.1 binaries, so now every ROM baker and their brother can put out 4.2.1 ROMs; but. . . Verizon hasn't done it yet. Their latest official GNex ROM is 4.1.1 (so there's no point in looking for an OTA update).
