Is anyone willing to make a mod or is there any other way to disable the media volume being reduced when you plug in a 3.5mm cable?
I would like this also. I only ever use my phone for music in my car and I like controlling my volume on my stereo without "help" from the phone...

Bump
check out aokp, it has an option to disable volume protection in sound settings. I recommend it anyways, it is awesome.

I flashed awesome beats on my phone and then bought the in ear bud beats by Dre and the volume rocker doesn't work obviously because its not supported on my device. Anyone have any solutions or software to get the 3 click buttons to work on the gnex? I'm rooted and running jro03o on my phone fyi
3button headphones
I'm hoping someone can give me guidance on this if its possible to have support for the volume rocker on my headphones or not. Please help. I don't like the apps in the market that let u use the play pause button to skip forward and backward either using 2 or 3 clicks. Oh and running liquid jellybean maybe that can help
The chrome button and mic work out of box. Otherwise, sometimes not even apps can help, I know volume will probably never work, but hey, Mic and chrome button (Google Now shortcut) beats nothing working!

The control talk is designed for iPhones and contains a special method of communicating with the device. Our android devices don't support that but we have support for the center button.

I just recently Got my Note 2 a few days ago. The only complaint i really have is the volume control when using the headphone jack, I never use headphones, but i do use the jack to play music through my car stereo. When i unplug it and plug it in the volume drops to half (probably for hearing safety). Is there a way to override or disable this?
Try volume control+ from play store. I didnt test it on note2 but worked great on tmobile g2

I use Tasker to set my volume levels when I plug my headphones or my car aux cable in. It shows the hearing damage warning, but it sets the volume right where I want it.
Thanks Guys I will look into them. Much appreciated.

Can you post how you set the values maybe a screen shot? I can't seem figure out exactly what to set.
Car Audio profile using Headset Plugged state with No Mic option. (that's how it knows the difference between my headphones, and my car's auxiliary cord)
That enables Car Mode which sets the current Media Volume to a variable, then sets the Media Volume to 15.
Exit task sets it back to the value in the variable, which is what it was before I plugged in the Aux cable.
The title pretty much says it all. Not sure if it's possible or how to do it. Cause the blutooth device I'm using has poor audio out sound volume and I would like to use the Blutooths mic while having the sound come out of my cars audio system. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I recently got a pair of beats pro by Dre, which are awesome. The included cable with Mic and volume controls does NOT work with my android Samsung galaxy S3. I can hear music and even people talking, but the Mic and volume controls do not work.
The cable is fine, it works fine on my wife's iPhone the way it's supposed to. Mic works, volume control works.
Is there another android specific cable? To make the Mic and volume with with my phone on these headsets?
There's one for iPhone cable..

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S9+. I also have an old Note 5. When the S9 is connected to my car via bluetooth and is playing music (usually Pandora), the volume knob on my car does not work and I have to adjust the volume using the S9's volume keys, which is annoying. This does not happen with the Note 5 is connected to my car via bluetooth and playing music, i.e., I can adjust the volume with the knob on the car. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not sure it matters, but the car is a 2017 Mercedes GLS450. Thanks in advance.

Go to Settings->Bluetooth. There's a three-dot menu at the top right. Turn off Media Volume Sync.
